the keys are layed out the same way on all the mac line of computers. it looks bunched up because this is the largest version of the macbook pro line. the 17 inch model. it is really the same size ont he 15 and 13 also.

@jose83035 Depends what you do with it. They don't really heat up. The only time it did was when I was playing games on it. But it's not too bad. My previous HP laptop was about to blow when I played any game on it. My macbook was an icecube compared to the HP lol. :P

@Varda87 thats not true lol. Macs get very hot because they are metal and poor air circulation. I had a 13" mbp and just sitting on the youtubes homepage it would get crazy hot because of the flash banner at the top. They arent meant to be actually used on your lap, too uncomfortable.

@YourLoveLetter Well the only time mine heats up is when I play games on it. That's inevitable with any laptop. But yes, one design flaw is the lack of air ventilation. :( Certain surfaces are also more prone to make it hot.

in my opinion the 17" is too big, its a laptop, it should be easy to carry around not, heavy and big, i think 15" is as big as i could go, ive got the 13" and its perfect for everything, video editing, photo editing, watching movies ect. plus its small and super light.

i also dont like the fact theres two big empty spaces at each side of the keyboard, they should have put in the numbers at the side cus theres room for it.

I don't like the design as much as the old aluminium MBP and PB's. I don't like the chiclets keyboard and two-tone colouring, I found the all-metal appearance of the older macs much more visually appealing. I'm not a Mac hater - I own a unibody MBP, four Powerbooks, and a Cinema Display, but these new Macs just don't look as cool - they look like a Sony Vaio.

Macbooks come in black and white, macbook pro comes in just silver, although i think depending on which screen you choose (glossy or anti glare) you get either a black or grey bezel around the screen
