holy wow, you're an insanely efficient pen tool-er. lol I've been using illustrator for ages in my graphics classes and still hate the pen tool. better with a mouse for me xD;
I like your videos/work it's really dope. At the same time you should give direct step-to-step on how you do certain things. Idk if you make other videos that say "I click here, I click this, I select this" in order to show exactly how you're Inking, how you're blocking, Etc.
Thanks for the video. I wasn't clear on how to do the line art - I was trying just to get the pen to do the thickness and it wasn't working out. Your video cleared up the process nicely. Thanks!
your just using your mouse to draw this out, right? cuz im not sure if your using a touch screen with a stylis pen. and thank you so much for having this tutorial
appreciate your video- as I see a lot of what I want to do is more precise- as far as drawing like using pen on paper- which you don't get using Ai - although this technique takes getting use to- you will be please will the end result -
I wanted to draw a character and use parts of the character like South park type and animate him- not as easy as I want- although i'm not educated in the tools needed to do it- I'm a photoshop guru- tryin to get into Ai and Fl
@CAMXposurePhoto Oh if you are having a tuff time with the pen tool you should checkout my pentool playlist, It can help you learn and understand it a bit better.
Did you scan your pen sketch or did you draw it in photoshop and imported into illustrator? I am trying to use the brush tool but it doesn't let me. do you know how to fix this?
Did you scan your pen sketch or did you draw it in photoshop and imported into illustrator? I am trying to use the brush tool, but it doesn't let me . do you know why and how can i fix this?
@andrei321 I drew everything in adobe illustrator, you need to watch my first part of this video series, this is the second part of the video. You missed the drawing part, just click the annotation in the begging of this video to take you to part1. and you have to double click the brush tool and uncheck auto select.
@mrwhoamiguess14 No no, I was actually genuinely interested because I'm only just starting to use Illustrator in stead of Photoshop. But I've tried it a little and I get it now.
Hello Davin, I love your work! I just got a wacom tablet yesterday, I've never used one before. Can you explain what your brush and pen tool settings are, or how to set up your tools in illustrator and photoshop?
@Tonya713MS Setting up the pen tool inside of Adobe Illustrator is pretty easy. Here is a video I did that show you the steps on setting it up, and how I have mine set up.
When I first started using Adobe Illustrator, I was pretty shitty towards the pen tool. And instead I only used the brush. After watching this, I feel like getting back to using the pen tool again.
Also, when the music got louder near the end of the vid, I almost jumped out of my seat cause I had the sound too loud.
@Larry2900 Sweet man, you'll get super good at it the more you practice, you'll be doing some super cool stuff in no time. and lol yeah that was an accident at the end of the video, didn't mean to do that xD.
I'm trying to figure out how you get the lines to cooperate, but this vector stuff is complicated lol, if this was in slow motion I could see better how you do it.
Could you put into words how you do this process?. Much appreciated :D
@DavinDaGeek a smart board is a board that you use instead of the computer is has a stance and shit and it comes with a pen you can use in it instead of your mouse
@fernifern3 ohhh, you're talking about a Tablet Pc, or a Wacom Tablet cintiq. Those two are like computer screens with that allows you to draw on them with a special pen. I want one so bad. I think I might get one after I make some money. Cuz they're prices can go from $1,000 up to $3,000.
@fernifern3 Well for the sketching I used a Wacom Bamboo fun tablet. However I used my mouse to do the ink job. and I am not sure what a smartboard is? =0
Thanks soooo much for uploading the video! I've been looking at pen tool/line art tutorials and yours was the most helpful because I could watch you do it instead of just read about it! :)
@FakeWings00: Oh thank you very much, if you still need more help on the pen tool you can watch this watch?v=_1HwEQlPUNw it's another in depth video on how to work the pen tool. and again, thank you. =)
you're ridiculously good, but it would be great if you could slow it down, as I am learning to use pen tool! thankyou. any tips? (anyone?)
