  • I think I have this. I'm a guy and I just remember being so bored in seventh grade, I pulled my hair. I pulled my head hair, then arms, and other areas... Now, in college, my face like chin and sideburns. And I hide it because I spike my hair so it looks like I have a lot... It kinda hurts but it's satisfying ... I'm not bald but I do worry about becoming bald. I don't want to have bald patchs anytime soon!

  • I'm a guy and I felt like I was the only one with this turns out im not thank god!

  • I have it as well just found out. I have been doing it in my eyelashes recently but I'm getting help now so I stop.

  • Freak........

  • okay wow guys stop being like that too her im dealing with trich too and trying to grow my hair . & is zoloft bad , im on those ?

  • Zoloft is awful!

  • I wanna pull your vaginal hair and sniff it....

  • im still going through trich too, although i know that only one or 2 ppl know that i have it. im a guy, so for me, its just harder. covering it up makes it much harder

  • thank you for making this video!

i totally think that more people should learn about trich. i've had it for most of my life, but have never realised it was a condition. i felt alone and most of all completely disgusted with myself,

i think you are such a brave person for making this, well done for being able to accept your condition with your head high. im still getting there

  • hello, i have a thesis coming up regarding TTM and i am wondering if you are willing to contribute by answering one of 6 questions i have.... if you are willing to contribute i would send you the file of the quesitons... your story would be of great help

i also have the disorder, and many other related disorders, my hope is that through writing my thesis paper, i will be able to let the outsiders experience or at least realize our everyday lives... please rep asap.. deadline is on feb 16

  • thank you, this helped me admit my problem

  • You're very courageous for sharing your story. I have ttm as well and it's great to see people like you here on youtube breaking the silence about the disorder.

  • No offence, AT ALL!

But are you a boy or girl?

    I know that sounds rude.........but?

  • @MermaidPaige that is pretty rude.

  • @janellc122

    How? I asked a question

  • @MermaidPaige You are being rude, and you admitted it yourself "I know that sounds rude......but?" You did ask a question, a very ignorant question. You ought to appologize and perhaps put some thought into whether a question is really necessary or if it is simply you being judgemental before you post it. I hope you decide to be a better and more thoughtful person in the future.

  • @janellc122

It ain't rude. It's a question. I can't tell! They sound like a girl, but the short hair really throws me off!

    My fucking god.

    Ur so retarded.

  • @MermaidPaige Honestly if you watched the video you would have known that she has trichotillomania. You are a very insensitive person, and the name calling just further proves it.

  • @janellc122

I'm not retarded like you, I know s/he had trich!

Duh. That's why I'm watching it.

I'm just wondering if they're a boy or girl.

    My god.

    My guess is girl.

    Fuck

  • @MermaidPaige with TRICH you pull out your HAIR. So why does the short hair throw you off?

  • MermaidPaige, I see you are a child and will discontinue this conversation. I hope you at least have a better understanding of Trich.

  • @janellc122

    Child?

Then wtf does that make you?

'Cause you are demonstrating childish acts pretty well.

  • @janellc122

    I HAVE TRICH, YOU IDIOT!

LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WITHOUT HAIR IN CERTAIN AREAS!

I said it threw me off because -most- girls have long hair which usually gives it away that they're a girl!

I'm not a 'child'. At least the way ur thinking of it.

    freak

  • @MermaidPaige I actually am a girl who cross dresses, its not rude at all, kind of flattering in some weird way actually.

  • Would you recomend zoloft as a good treatment.

  • I have it too. Ever since I was eleven. (I'm fifteen now). I really appreciate that you made a video about it. That's really great. Hopefully people can learn from this video.

  • im glad u said so and i have it to

  • i commend you for being so brave and telling the world about this

  • OMG, is this for real?? is this a disease? I mean, I have it but I never thought it would be something other people do too. I've been pulling my hair off and now I have spots on it, this is so EMBARRASSING, I have to wear a hat to hide it, I also use an eyebrow liner and I pull off my eyelashes with my fingers, I can't stop...I am so depserate

  • OMG, is this for real?? is this a disease? I mean, I have it but I've never thought it would be something other people do too....I been pulling my hair off and now I have spots on it, this is so EMBARRASSING, I have to wear a hat to hide it, I also use an eyebrow liner and pull off my eyelashes with my fingers, I can't stop...I am so desperate

  • i'm glad you addressed this. I was just talking about this the other day.

  • What an incredibly brave, informative, and moving testimony. Thank you!

I'm a mom of an 11 yr. old boy who has TTM. He began pulling his eyelashes around the age of 7, his eyebrows & sideburns recently. His old dr. dismissed it. His new one knew what it was immediately.

A great book is "The Hair Pulling Habit & You: How to Solve the Trichotillomania Puzzle," written for ages 10-16, adults, & therapists.

TLC offers a support group for parents of kids w/TTM.

There is hope. There is help. :-)

  • An antioxidant called N-acetylcysteine, sold over the counter at vitamin stores really helps!

  • really?

  • Try a vitamin called Inositol. Google it and you will see it has been found to help trichsters.

  • I have TTM, myself. I have had it since I was very little--I had bald patches starting when I was 2 or 3 years old. I hate it!! I have tried different techniques to stop it, but it seems to always come back. I also pick my nails. I am taking 20mg of Lexapro for anxiety, depression and OCD. I'm also on the road to eating healthier which, I have read and heard, helps with imbalances in the brain.

  • i also have ttm it is such a good feeling to know that so mny peple have it i pulled out all my hair on my head with my hands and my mom tok away and hid the tweezers. i really think that yall should go to trich world it is a community of people with ttm who just upport eachother

  • I pull pubic hair. Eyebrow hair. Underarm hair. I fell inlove with my tweezers. Sometimes I have to hide them. You are so brave for posting this..

  • I do it most when watching tv. Sitting at my desk at work. Or when I'm bored or stressed..mainly when I have a lot on my brain. I cut all my hair off twice. I wear wigs now.

  • I have this. I'm 21, had it 4 almst 2yrs now. It started out of nowhere. I pull the head out my scalp til I see bald spots. It feel good doing. But when I stop I cry

  • oh my gosh. i had it so bad. i used to use a gel called hair glue, and mascara to hide it. i wud wear hats and hedbands. i stopped going to school when it got too hard to hide. i was really depressed. at one point i was on medications, but nothin helped. eventually it subsided, and my hair grew back. my only fear is that one day it will return. but i admire your ourage in shaving your head.

  • i have a mild case of it,

started with my eyelashes and other parts.

    still dealing with it.

a week or to ago i was watching tv and i just started pulling out my eyebrow (MOST EMBARASSING TIME) for me at least since i had to draw them in and it always looked too thick.

    sucks.

i think mine is caused by anxiety and boredom. :S

love the green day poster in the back btw!

  • I have it too, I started when I was 13 and I still have it today. I've had it for two years, I pull my eyebrows and eyelashes out. I'm creating a support video for TTM.

  • Anafranil!

  • i have it too, im only 13 soo..

  • I've had it for a few years now. I believe I started when I was nine. It's kind of fuzzy. Started with the eyelashes, moved to the head. I scared my family crapless, and it literally breaks their hearts to look at me. I've told a few people about it, and when they see my head, they just stop, and stare with this afraid and disgusted look.

I totally got the cancer thing going for me too. xD Keep up the good work, fellow trich!

  • I suffer from it to. :l I dont pull my hair put i do my eyebrows and eyelashes, im in senior high and it sorta sucks cos i have missing patches in my eyelashes :S

  • Damn i have it too! Maybe because of the stress because I am from Bosnia caused probablly because of the war ! Damn it sucks!!!

  • I have this disorder too,and it has caused noticeable bald spots. Its hard for people with this to go get a haircut. but ive learned to speak openly about it. Youre very brave for putting up this vid. My doctor prescribed me an anti-anxiety and im considering a psychologist. yes, its VERY difficult to overcome. Ive had it over 10 years. There should be more awareness. I wish you the best of luck in overcoming this condition. just remember.its only a test to make your spirit stronger. :)

  • i also have it but on my chin, in picking now when im watching this. it sucks.

  • i have it also , i've had it for years. i'm in 10th grade . its hard..

  • if i have it....and i have kids can they get it?

didnt some say it can come in your genes

  • I used Zoloft too and it didn't work for me either! It's a crappy medicine. Only it's nice to know I'm not the only person who has it. I pull out my hair on my head the least, but I hardly have and eyebrows or eyelashes. I can't wait until I'm done picking. IT SUCKS!

  • it sucks having trich! i got it in sixth grade, pulling my eyelashes...yeah. for some reason not having them made me the loser kid all through junior high...got beat up a couple time for it too. its only a mild case i have, but i still hate it. props to everybody who lives with it and is brave enough to talk about it

  • you so pretty. i am so happy/amazed that you aren't afraid to talk about it. i pulled out all of my eyelashes [top eyelashes] & i have to wear dark makeup. i wish i didn't have to wear it so dark, i wish i could be normal. but... you have taught me that you just have to be yourself. thanks so much.

  • i dont have lashes or brows... iam a senior in high school. i hate my self. i wanna be pretty.

  • I have trichotillomania. I pick at my eyebrows. I thought I was the only one that had it. You make me have higher self-esteem.

  • olehabsole its probobly cuz u picked them really aoofne and have been doin this for a long time....

  • Amen! battling it for 28 years now.

  • If I only God damn knew! that my eyelashes and eyebrows wouldn't grow back i think I would be able to control myself.

  • your gorgeous!

  • i mainly have it at the tip of my hair i will pull on it but never rip it off. It still is the same thing isnt it? I didnt realize this was something serious, but when i saw you pull off your hoody i was stuned. now that i know the concequences, i will hopefully stop but if i see it becoming more and more of a problem im going shaved.

  • wow. ever since i was little i used to have a tich on playing with my hair. it would develop to pull and twirl it around. but stopped for a while. for a while i spoted a short haIrcut for a couple of years which obviously makes me stop. now i have longer hair but i noticed it has come back, i keep knotting it and if i dont touch go thru withdrawl. i just thought it was a silly habbit i had since i was a kid but your really opened my eyes.

  • i have found that when i smoke weed i am completly stess free which means no pulling out my eyelashes when im not high i pull so i am in a destructive path unless i have healthyer methods of taking in tetrahydrocannabinal (thc)

  • I disagree, I believe some people in worser cases, cannot just stop, its not that simple. Maybe the factors surrounding your life haved helped to ease your control, but I think that under a constant condition of stress and other factors one could not just stop because they got a grip.

  • thank you.

although there are a growing amount of videos on mental illnesses, people only seem to acknowledge the more well known disorders such as bipolar or eating disorders.

  • i do it to my eyelashes and cnt stop and luks reli stupid wiv big gaps

  • tell your parents, get them to see a medical professional, you can be given medication that can help a little.

  • Im trying to stop but when I also use the pc or lie down I still pluck AAAH!!!

  • Thanks so much for sharing this. =)

I never knew that this even existed, much less that I had a dissorder, cause mine's not to such a bad extent, but I feel more comfortable about it knowing that I'm not the only one.

  • thank you so much for sharing your story. you are beautiful. if our culture weren't so hung up on females having big hair, the bald female wouldn't make people think of cancer. the heck with them all. bald is beautiful and when you are in less control of the pulling, give yourself a break. You are courageous and brave.

  • i had it in the 5thgrade,i dont have it now,i went into depression so i had to take medication, and eatingfood helped me feel better, but i gained weight, which made me eat even more because of my aperence:(but i went to counciling and i had to become homeschoold because of all the people making fun of me,i was so poor that they made a foundation/well giving money to have myself a wig, and of course other people who hav it,i dont have it now, but i help people who have it,i hope u can overcome it

  • it sure is annoying!

ive had it since i was 7, and im 16 now. its "trichy" stuff ;)

  • great job opening up! :) trich is something that is SO HARD. if you dont have it, you dont understand. ive tried to stop forever but can you believe as i was watching this video i was pulling? lol. that just shows how uncontrollable it is. i admire you for doing that. thanks :)

  • same here whenever im on the computer i start pulling. it's sooooooooo annoying.i do it on my legs. used to on my scalp but i wont let myself.

  • I am a trichster too. I need to post up my video. Been a puller for 12 years woo hoo! Don't give up. I am still trying new ways to stop. I have been learning a lot. By chance do you suffer from anxiety or depression? I think Trich has something coincided with those two things and relationships with parents. =)

    see ya friend,

    elle

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I, too, have Trichotillomania. I began pulling my hair out when I was around 1. It's never been severe enough to develop bald patches, but my hair is noticeably thinner on one side. I go through phases, mainly during hectic parts of the semester, where the pulling is worse than it normally is. It's refreshing to see somebody who isn't ashamed of this disorder. Thank you again for posting this. :)

  • omg. not to sound like an idiot.. but does it hurt? or u jus get in a trance where u dont really feel it ? =/

  • some of us get trances uncontrolably.

    others just cant stop.

    like a bad addiction.

it hurts, but it feels good.

    its weird.

  • I've had trich for the last 7 years and I'm at my wits end. I'm out of ideas. Does it ever end?

  • I began pulling in the fifth grade and that was the worst time I had it. Then I had three bald spots. Slowly I've been able to get a grasp on it, so maintain hope and determination. If you can get a hold of it just a little, it makes a great difference ^^ good on ya for posting this.

  • the first one was a reply to someone sorry :/

  • i too have trichotillomania.

people try to take off my hat and make fun of me for it all and it upsets me quite a bit. no one supports me in this. all people do is scream and yell at me saying "WTF is wrong with you?!?!" no one really knows about it and thats why i think more people should be open about this.

i made a video about my trich. on blogtv, but the sound sucks so im remaking it.

i admire you for putting this out there on youtube.

  • I've had it for 23 years. I was pull-free for 9 months in '99, but that's it. It's so so so difficult. I love the website TLC.

  • i am so lost i want to just die , this has come out of no where for me and i am half bald in the past 1 month i dont know what to do at all

  • thanks for sharing. i have it and its hard to talk about.

  • you're a brave soul for sharing this. thank you so much for posting this video.

  • dont be tempeted. an easy way to stop can be to write a list of days you've done it. itz probaly a bad idea but give it a shot. maybe you should read, swim,do sports like swimming to keep hands busy like basketball, keep hands busy as much as you can,or anything thats keeps your hands away from you head or anywhere you pull! itz gunna work trust me!

  • i have it too ... whenever i think about pulling i usually play guitar. I'm 14 and i've only had it for about 1/2 of a year and it was BIG last summer. It was almost uncontrollable. I think maybe it was because i had nothing to do last summer so that may have taken a toll on it?

  • I've had trich since i was in 6th grade and i still have it now. i'm 14 and i've gotten teased about it soooooooooo much at my old school. At my new school, people don't ask questions, but they wonder why my hair is so short on top. I usually tell people that it was a welding accident from when i was a kid, and they believe me. I'm just afraid that if i tell people, they won't like me, like what happned at my old school. :[

  • I did it as a kid and I still pull today and pull every wheres... Mostly Chin and Eyelashs... Your a strong woman... Cute too... I hide it to all...

  • I just wanna tell you i admire you so much for this. Im thinking about making my own video now. Ive had this condition for about 4 years now. Ive almost compleatly givin up, and this makes me stay srong:]

  • OMG i prayfor these people

  • thank you we'll stay strong if we stay together

  • I've done it since 14 and I'm 21 now. I'm a guy so yeah. It's annoying to deal with, especially for that many years but at least it hasn't moved to any other part of my body like eyelashes, arms or wherever else. Just my head. You look good with short hair. I've had almost every hair style a guy could have except being bald. I think I'd look fatter than I do now haha We'll learn in time.

  • You're an extremely brave person,

I have a lot of respect for you.

    :) x

  • Hair pulling is an addiction .. a strong hold .. It's an attempt to pull the anxiety out of one's body ..I've tried meds ... hypnotherapy.. lots of things ... You know what's worked for me? Honestly? I turn to God when I want to turn to my hair. When I feel something I don't want to feel, I do not give myself permission to raise my hands above my shoulders. I believe trich is God calling me to a relationship with him. At the center of my life is no longer my hair but God.

  • fuck I just pulled out a huge long line of hair, now i have a bald spot, I hadn't done it like in a year but I'm so stressed now, and now that my hair is long it sucks. I'm so fucking depressed now :(

do you ever bite it in half?

  • i do. i bite off the roots.

  • you may also have trichophagia.

and may result in "Rapunzel syndrome"

    you dont want that.

i wish you the best of luck.

  • thanks for posting.

  • Isn't it always so hard? It's so depressing when you've been so good for so long and then you just go full blown "crazy" and pull so much... I hate it, and I wish i wasn't this way... but I've learned to deal with it for the last 10 years and I will get better...

  • You were brave to post this video, just wanted to say thanks for helping bring the spotlight onto this disorder a little more. <3

  • redpaul79 is...Ray "J"

  • fuck off, douchbag

  • I do, But a week ago I shaved my hair. I fill alot better now about myself. Fill better without hair. I been shaving my hair for about 16 years now. I just try not to deal with it when I shave my hair. Thanx...Ray "J"

  • I have had Trichotillomania for over 14 years and have lived with this condition most of my life. For people that have never had it, imagine that you are a chain smoker, someone who literally cannot go 5 hours without a smoke, and someone asks you to stop smoking, with no help just to one day put down the smokes and stop. But for your whole life there is a smoke attached to your hand and it never goes away. That's how strong the compulsion can get at times.

  • I have trichotillomania with my eyelashes and eyebrows. It's extremely embarrassing.

  • I feel your pain,I've been in isolation hiding, won't tell you for how long because you won't believe it.

  • Umm...I pull out my hair & eat it. It 1st happend when I was 14. Now I'm alomst 31. Long story short, It was because my Grandma died. I felt bad that she died. So, I pulled out my hair to releave the pain. Your strong. We all can over come this...Ray "J"

  • trich. sucks i have had it for about 3 yrs now and i struggle with keeping myself from pulling my eyebrows and lashes -_- i agree people need to know about the disorder even if you dont have it. I hate when people ask me about it. BUT if you have trich on your face, make-up helps lol in more ways than one: your self esteem and it lowers the number of ignorant people who ask about it

  • omg! I thought that I was alone in this struggle. I've had TLC for 10 years now, since middle school and by now it's been off and on. I've tried the medications but because of my asthma it made me sick, tried therapy pretty much everything, but the only thing I know of that has been helping me alot is the support of my mother and my boyfriend. The best advice I can give is to believe that you can stop it and the rubber band on the wrist trick and knitting helps alot too.

  • whats this rubber band trick? do tell please.

  • You're very brave for posting this. Personally I am also a Trich sufferer. For 8 years I did it then suddenly I stopped. My hair has sincer grown back, but I still pull it out every now and then.

I think there needs to be a little more awareness about this disorder.

  • Wow, well done for making this brave video. I think we all have a primordial need to clean and groom ourselves. So I don't think that Trichotillomania is so difficult to understand and I hope that people don't feel too ashamed to get help.

  • Have you ever considered having a dog and pulling its hair instead of yours?

  • Yes thank you very much for putting this video up! U r a very brave person to put up this video! Now I dont feel like im the only one who suffers from it! I pull out my hair & my eyebrows & eyelashes! I have been suffering from it for 5 years now!

  • Thank you So much for putting this on! I have Trich and it's NOT fun. I have to wear a cap everywhere I go, and I always have to wear a swimming cap every time I go swimming. I cut the rest of my hair off because there was only a few pices there. People who have Trich, I know how it feels and I hope you find a cure. :)

  • Thanks for sharing your story! I don't have trichotillomania, but I was very curious about it after reading about it in my psychology textbook. I applaud your bravery for telling us all about it, as I know some uneducated, ignorant people might be judgmental about it.

  • wow! you are ballsy!! i have trich...i have been a headpuller for 5 years now! i am inspired by you!!everyone needs to see this then maybe they could stop being assholes!!!

  • you are so brave... i almost cried watching this video. i have had trich for about 5 years now. xoxox

  • For women and girls, wearing mascara will help you to stop pulling your eyelashes out.I have this condition and I now have quite long lashes.

  • im 16, female and have been pulling since grade 1 :( this is the first time since then i havnt pulled. its been 13 days! sounds kinda lame but its a miracle for me! its the only thing that has helped. having trich makes u unique.u hate to admit it but its who you are,and u'll always have it to hide behind. i started really examining myself and tried to find things that make me outstanding or unique so that trich wouldnt define me anymore. Once u establish yourself as a person, your trich is gone

  • Thats a real nice way of looking at it. Good for you. I like your attitude.

  • i pull my eyebrows and eyelashes. i cant stop. idky. i really need help. if you know what i can do. please tell me...

  • eres muy valiente,mucho animo y bendiciones !!

  • your very brave doing this. great informative video. never thought i'd see this on here.

  • thats great. we will be making a video soon about tric so besure to check it out. we want to help as much as possible. so be sure to watch for our video.

  • hey this her bff now...but have a good group of friends as a support group. thats how we helped her we kept her occupied. that way she wouldnt pull it being bored is a big factor. and stay out of stressful situations. thats whens she pulls the most delicate balance. thanx 4 writing us back

  • Hay i started when i was 1 and had lots of help like therapy and alot of sitting on my hands stressballs and my friends help i havn't completely stoped but don't pull it out so frequently i took years of therapy i had bribes when my hair grew out i put it up every day for a long time it help tremndesly

  • i want to tell you, you can stop this problem little by little, how? firts of all, you must shave the head, every day,and you will see the problem goin of little by little,i bee fighting years against this problem too, ok good luck, do it it works

  • I have had trich since high school at least. I have i guess a lesser form of it or whatever, because I dont pull out my head hair, I just pull out my eyelashes, eyebrows, and arm hair. It is really good to know that I am not alone.

  • Yay for you! I finally just said fuk it, I don't care if I have trich, it's not as bad as having AIDS or cancer or something like that. Now it has calmed down a lot. I didn't have eyebrows or lashes for years and I looked like an alien!

  • i have the same problem but i cant find anything that just helps. what helped for you??? its been like omg soo long and its super annoying. wht got u to stop???

  • Thank you, I really admire you.

I pull out my eyebrows, and for a while if I had a sleep over I'd have to wake up to draw on my eyebrows again, also my mom was ashamed of me, I had to do some research and now I have acrylic nails and it makes it harder to pull the hairs, I want to share the tip because it really does help, good luck. :)

  • Hay. I also have the disorder and i would like to tell you that with plenty of dedication you will stop I have. I have plenty of respect for you. i never would of made a video of it. i love your courage to talk about it im thinking of making a video too thanks for the video it makes me have more confedence in myself

  • wht got u to stop? i can use any advise!

  • There are many ways to stop.

Wear a cap over your head so you are unable to reach the hair.

Buy a stressball or any small object and hold it in your hand to busy your hands.

But in the end it's all up to you. You have to be self aware and tell youself to stop when you say no.

  • Ok so I don't have this problem and I am not trying to be rude but I really don't think wearing a hat or keeping your hands busy will do anything. I actually have an eating disorder and to me that is the equivalent of people telling me to stay out of the kitchen. Addictions just don't work that way.

  • In some cases it has worked but I understand what you mean.

That's the sad and in some way interesting part of have a pyschological disorder. There really is no quick fix method of making it go away.

  • thank you :)

  • I have a lot of respect for you.

I also have the disorder and it sucks :(

Hopefully, it's getting better now =] I went to hypnotheropy to try and help and i've not done it for a couple of days - Baring in mind i've suffered for 8 years I think this is quite good =] Lol

I wish the the best of luck for the future ^^

  • great job!! 8 days is a long time to go without doing it... i have had it since i was 7 :( but i haven't done it in 5 weeks which just makes me so happy!! it is so hard though, but you will get through it! don't worry :P

  • awesome! i have gone 5 days now. and i've been doing it everyday for 10 years. so this is a huge deal for me. and i dont look different yet but my self-control and my self-esteem is going up like crazy. it feels so good knowing i havnt pulled at all for a few days!

  • Hey I think a friend of mine has this. Only he dont know it. He has a noticable patch, right on the top of the head. He thought he was going bald, only it never really progressed as such. I was round his waiting for him to get ready to go out. Then he did something odd. He didnt use a comb. Instead, he parted his hair with his fingers, often doing it again until he was satisfied with the way his hair looked.

I am positive that has something to do with the patch. Will it grow back if he stops?

  • the good thing is hair will always grow back. its just wether of not he will be able to stop

  • it's about anxiety? how to control anxiety. I tried a stupid terapy at home but it didn't work. I control myself getting my cut very short. That works

  • i got it too. you must have the nerve to tell the whole world that you got it. wow. i cant even tell my own mom.

  • I have it too! You are soo brave for doing this. But you're also an inspiration :) I've been dealing with this for four years and I pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows. It sucks. But it helps alot to know I'm not alone. :)

  • STFU !

  • i do that too

    alot actually

    thanks though!

  • =( i have it to iam imbararesd

  • =]

    dude, ur awsome and thanks for putting this up here, I've had this probablem since 6th grade and I'm glad I'm not the only one ^^;

  • I suffer from Ttm, but i am being treated for having allopecia. When i was young i picked at my belly button, then i started picking my touge. After i stopped picking my belly button i started to pull out my hair. I have told no one so far so i guess u r the first one. For me when my scalp getz itchy i sit down and pull at it I like it when the roots come out becuz for me i think it feels very good.

  • same here.

  • i've got it. it sucks. i can't stop either. i have to go to councleling. i am 15... i hate it. thank you so much for making the video :)

  • me too! i went to therapy when i was young. and im 16 and i still cant stop. and ive had enough! i just want to look normal you know?

  • YESSS!! oh my gosh yes! lol it is horrible!! i don't look normal! it drives me crazy!

  • I've had this for a few years, it literally made high school hell for me. I pull my brows, it's not too noticeable if I wear makeup over them but still.. I really hate it.

I'm happy for you, that you're not ashamed of it, and even though we're strangers I think i'm proud of you :)

  • thank you so much for making this video

I recently found out that i have trich, and i was crying because

I was scared to know it cant be fixed, but kind of happy to know im not alone.

I used to pull from my head, but it didnt last

Im now almost 15 years old, and i have almost no eyelashes left. People are always asking me why i pull, i tell them i cant help it and they just say thats gross, of course you can help it. Thanks again.

Your gorgeous, and its so amazing that your not ashamed.

  • does anyone know if not having ANY eyelashes can cause any kind of medical problems?? right now is the first time,i've pulled all of them out,thx :) and thx for this vid,u are so brave, and beautiful :)

  • i used ti do that too

  • I had trich and finally got over it. After I finally accepted the fact that no one could help me but myself was I able to fight it alone. I started talking in the mirror each day and telling myself how beautiful I am, how much I loved myself, etc. Basically, positive affirmations. Not only did the hair pulling start to recede, I started losing weight. You do have some control. You don't do it in public do you?? Try this self talk and change the negative chatter in your brain. It works.

  • i dont know if im the only guy here but im 21 and have been pulling just my eyelashes out since the 3rd grade. i was in class and my teacher was like what the where are your eyelashes!!?? and she sent me to the office! lol but it has sucked a lot for me over the years especially during high school kids would call me frog and its always been hard to look a girl in the eyes. i hate it so much! but i guess it what makes me me so your not alone take care thanks

  • you are very brave for coming out with this. i know that i have it, but never been told, but i am forever pulling because its an unconcious habit...and thing is with mine, it has not progressed to how bad some people have it.

i have gotten to where its my scalp, my eyebrows and lashes...thing is, i try so hard to make in not noticable, cos i can style my hair so its not too noticable.

    goodluck with everything.
