My window XP LAN connection got deleted accidently, I can not find the icon or couldn't create a new connection through net work connection, what is the way to get the internet back?. thanks for your help in advance:)
Really basic technique for simple file sharing within a LAN after being enabled, wondering how best to ensure the security of the resources shared and other info on the computers in regards virus infection and the like...
when i do it on the other computer, that i want to recieve the shared map, i do the exact same thing (in tools and that stuff :s), but it keeps telling me it didnt found the server :s . .
Thank you so much, a clear, concise demo. I have another question. I am trying to share files from an XP desktop to a Vista desktop. The sharing seems to be happening but my Vista desktop cannot access the internet now. I am on a router. XP is accessing but Vista is not...any suggestions wiil be much appreciated.
This isn't working for me. I got 2 computers in LAN via a router, one drive shared (just as You showed it on the video) but the I' am unable to connect using the command or the mapping tool. What might be the problem? Windows firewall?
i'm tryin to eddit files from my computer that are on some one elses, but it is not letting me...the shareing is setup properly but is always ask if it's write protected
But the problem is that I want to share files with my laptop (wireless)! I can't found the shared file on my laptop .. Am I supposed to do anything on my laptop or is it just that this method don't work on sharing files via wireless network ?
my dell c400 dont have any operating system, it has a brand new hard drive... the only thing it has is its bios. the bios boot option has a onboard nic... how would i install windows xp from this?
Thank you! I'd already shared my folder on the main computer, but couldn't find *anywhere* where it said how to access the shared folder. Your tutorial answered it (the \\computername\folder syntax). Thanks again!
Map network drive ? What is the reason for it, just to get to a folder or what. If you have the folder on your desktop, can you access that folder from another computer ? Or to get it from another computer you have to map it ? Sorry for the stupid question, but real curious !! Thanks Jeff
Useful tutorial. I was just thinking about the web cam "it's not a great one for someone appears to know alot about computing". It's like you knew what I was thinking. LOL
My name's not Jesus :-P and I don't normally talk this slow, only for the videos so that viewers don't have to roll the clip back just to determine what I just said. Glad I helped ya out!

Very helpful video. I have shuffling around the net and going through trial and error to figure this out. Thanks to you it only took a few minutes! Keep making these great videos, they much appreciated.
it's a little icon mod included with the Hard Disk Sentinel program. Let's you easily view hard disk occupancy at a glance without right clicking "properties"
yes to both questions. As long as the USB drive letter remains the same on your system you'll be able to keep the share when you insert and remove the device
Hey there.... good videos. Very simple language and easy to follow. I just bought a laptop with Vista and for the life of me I can't get it to see my other computer on the network. Both are in the same WORKGROUP and the computer name is correct. Firewall settings seem to be okay too. I can access the Vista laptop from the XP PC but not vice versa. HELP!!! Thanks.
Good, just wish the quality was a bit not blurry... >_< n fast

VT1985 3 years ago
that means the system (or folder shares) you're connecting to requires authentication to access the shared resources.

Hard Disk Sentinel. Checks the physical health and temperature of your hard disk. The green bar indicator shows disk occupancy.

If you're referring to Network Attached Storage (NAS), these devices are efficient if you require data to be backed up from several different systems
