The sharing seems to be happening but my Vista desktop cannot access the internet now. I am on a router. XP is accessing but Vista is not...any suggestions wiil be much appreciated.

my dell c400 dont have any operating system, it has a brand new hard drive... the only thing it has is its bios. the bios boot option has a onboard nic... how would i install windows xp from this?

put in the windows xp cd, go to the bios stuff, go to the order selection and then put cd rom as 1st

Map network drive ? What is the reason for it, just to get to a folder or what. If you have the folder on your desktop, can you access that folder from another computer ? Or to get it from another computer you have to map it ? Sorry for the stupid question, but real curious !! Thanks Jeff

fyi if you have a firewall turned on it will not allow you to connect. Turn firewall off, or add exception.

yes to both questions. As long as the USB drive letter remains the same on your system you'll be able to keep the share when you insert and remove the device

Hey there.... good videos. Very simple language and easy to follow. I just bought a laptop with Vista and for the life of me I can't get it to see my other computer on the network. Both are in the same WORKGROUP and the computer name is correct. Firewall settings seem to be okay too. I can access the Vista laptop from the XP PC but not vice versa. HELP!!! Thanks.
