This was the first NASCAR race I ever went to, I don't remember very much from it cause I was was 5. one thing I do remember was it started to pour rain right after the race, lol
I was a big fan of Adam's and let me tell you something, his loss is still felt. Being an up and coming driver in 2000 has been difficult. We have lost Adam, Tony Roper, Blaise Alexander, Kevin Grubb...
I didn't really get into Nascar (which is to say I didn't watch every race) until probably 2002 or 2003 so while I remember Adam passing away I didn't understand the magnitude of it. A Petty dying like this really had to be hard for this sport seeing as how Richard is considered the best driver in its history. Now that I understand Nascar more and how it works, I really think Adam could have been a star...I don't think Kyle ever really got over the loss of his son, his desire to race was lost.
adam had such a promising career ahead of him. He woulda made his dad and grandad very proud. Im watching the Kansas prerace, talking about him and the victory junction gang camp. Adam was a great person, on and off the track.
who's the other one they mentioned christian somebody

It's such a shame that Adam passed away. It would of been awesome to see him and Dale Jr. race against each other.

I have this race on tape!
I believe I have most of it anyway.
I remember the blue background and it saying "Adam Petty 1980 - 2000" and showing the picture of him.
RIP Adam Petty
You will be missed!
And by the way, I was only 6 when he died, and I remember it all.

Such a shame. He had a promising career ahead of him. He probably would have been the 3rd Petty champion.

if he died, this couldn't be 1997, it has to be 2000.
AntonyBlalock 2 years ago 3
Yeah, I know it was 2000 but stupid me forgot to fix all the notes I wrote from the last set of videos I posted LOL
Thank you for pointing it out, I may have never noticed!
