Cara, to afim de construir um, mas to totalmente em duvida em relação aos leds...você usou leds com quanto de MCD??? Achei um led transparente com 1000 MCD (acende verde) por 10 reais a centena, mas to com receio de não ter um efeito legal.

bonitas animações, comprei um arduino tb e 130 LEDs, deu 100 reais até agora, vamos tentar fazer um de 5x5x5. estamos aprendendo. parabens pelo projeto.

queremos usar uma ferramenta chamada vvvv ou 4v para criar programas de animações para roda no nosso cubo. conhece o vvvv? pesquise vale a pena é uma ferramenta boa pra quem não é 100% programador. muitos programadores/artistas usam ele para fazer instalações. O site deles tem bastante documentação tb. o pdf deste projeto ainda está disponível?

Eu mesmo não gastei nada (além de tempo), pois foi feito por grupo de estudo, com verba de um dos projetos. Por alto, deve ter custado mais de 400 reais. Todos os leds são azuis apenas, de alto brilho.

I have a question: How did you get it all working? With multiple MCUs? Did you use a system to make less wires? Did you use binary? Please tell me!

I used Arduino, it send a group of 8 bytes plus another one to select which layer will be active. The cube itself is driven by 9 shift registers and the first one set the decoder. The rest is multiplexing the layers quickly so it looks like all of layers are working. I'll post a pdf file with everthing in soon!

How to design a 3D Cub? Sorry i am noob. I buy one 8 X 8 RGB, so i need to buy 8 ( 8 X 8 RGB ) and build it?

You need to buy 512 single RGB leds and solder them together.

But please go for a 4x4x4 single colored cube or something like that first. An 8x8x8 RGB is a REALLY tough project.

well u need 512 RGB LEDs about $1,50 each and a real good microcontroler or a few small ones (not so expensive, 10-30dollars + 30 dollers for the programming device) and the board and a few other small and cheap parts.

If u can find cheap LED u have to spend about 700 Dollars and A LOT of time.

u can also buy a hypnocube, its 4x4x4 but locks quite impressiv and u can get it in peaces or assembeld.

Umm where are you buying your RGB's radioshack? Protip buy from wholesellers last i checked you can get them on digikey for 40cents if bought in lots of 500
