you know what really grinds my gears... buying return flights for 4 people online with ryanair and paying by visa.. getting charged 5 euro per person each way so 8 * 5 = 40 euro.. even though it is in fact just one credit card transaction (they are charging you for 8)... that is just taking the piss!! fockers..

And I don't think the aviation world is jealous of them - there is more to a good flight than the price, there's such a thing as good service, and flight attendants that actually smile. (And if you're really an aviation lawyer you'll know that there are more complaints made against Ryanair per 100,000 passengers, than any other airline worldwide)

Seriously, quit the ryanair bashing peeps. Punctuality etc. has all been pointed out many times over so I'm not going to bother. They are a BUDGET airline so dont expect fucking first class suites and michelin star menus. If you are just flying with no hold baggage then its an incredibly cheap way to do things and I've flown Ryanair a fair few times and never really had any trouble at all. Heres one i bet you didnt know but ryanairs legroom actually aint bad: 30". BA's long haul economy is 31".

And for all of you singing easyjets praises their legroom is 29". Then there's the pilots. Bloody hell they are some of the best pilots out there. Seriously almost every single Ryanair flight I've been on was smooth as butter. The only one incident was quite a harsh landing because of the truly crap scottish weather, the pilot did a good job to even land the aircraft it was that bad. Finally the obvious one: cost.

Ryanair are a point to point airline which means they fly direct flights...

whereas bmi, BA and to a certain extent Easyjet fly hub to point to hub flights which means that instead of paying for one flight you are paying for two which is alot more expensive because you are paying two lots of landing fees, two lots of airport taxes, two takeoff climbs, and landings worth of fuel two lots of airport handling fees.

On the note of service i;m completely lost, I've always found ryanair staff helpful and friendly

Agreed, Ryanair pilots are some of the best out there. What I don't like about Ryanair is not the staff though, it's the aggressive business model the airline has adopted. From the arrogant advertising campaigns against other airlines to the way they shaft Boeing on aircraft orders. And to be fair, MOL is a bit of a prick.
