Sorry for mi english, I am Italian... But I appreciate very much the entire stuff. Congratulations even to hanman1. Grazie mille, di cuore.

  • very much the same version my daughter and I sing together, its nice to have a version before it was polished and it just be a song about his child not the almost pop classic it nearly became.

  • A few people clicked on the dislike button. Why, was it the song or Bowies pants you didn't like?

  • This is beautiful, a Bowie track that I was unaware of until recently.

  • what a shame! at least you know of it now. You should really buy the album Hunky Dory. it's got kooks and tons of great bowie tracks. Life on mars?, Andy Warhol, Oh you pretty things, changes. The list goes on and on.

  • Words were a bit different in this one. I enjoyed this very much. Thanks

  • Wasnt music so good back then!

  • So cuteeeeeee *__________*

  • Bowie perfection xxx

  • In June of 1971, Neil Young's latest album would've been "After The Goldrush." I can't think of anything on it that sounds like it would've been an inspiration for this (certainly not lyrically), but then, who knows how Bowie's mind works.

  • Was perhaps the first song I heard when my son was born. Quite poignant I felt !!!

  • Damn that was strong man.

    Freakin' nice i say.

  • wonderful! :)

  • this song is fantastic. one of the best.

    he is a great man.

  • I made a T-shirt to my baby godchild with a picture of Bowie and these lyrics. Love the song.

  • This is great. I love Hunky Dory, it's my second favorite Bowie albums, but I've never heard Kooks live. It's really a good song.

  • wishing the Pigot boy did this on idol!

  • i have this on my copy of "Bowie At The Beeb"; i first heard it this morning... to think i got Diamond Dogs this week instead of Hunky Dory.

i love the extra line, too!

sounds like he used a twelve string; rich sounds.

  • Thanks for posting, I've never heard this version before! Love the extra line, "And we'll watch the crazy people race around"!

  • Wonderful - this this the stuff YouTube was made for.
