everyone bitches about the sawed off, but it is fairly balanced. The amount of shots, and ammo the thing gets is crap. The reload is crap. Sure it kills in one shot, but if you miss, or if 2 guys are near u, u are completely fucked
heres a tip lay out some grenads by weopons and areas where the action is to get some kills this is also good for a 1 vs 5 battle just hid some grenades and let the enemy walk over them ya'll boost your chance at winning the match. (P.S. i have no idea how new you are to GoW but you plant/stick a grenade by pressing B to a flat surface)

The Sawn-Off and Retro Lancer are two of the gayest, and cheapest weapons to use and take absolutely no skill to use at all. I'm player of the original Gears of War back in '06, and this beta fuckin' sucks because it destroys the playstyle that the community built for the first Gears of War. You can't even do shotgun battles anymore because of that bitch-ass Sawn-Off.

Ehh something I picked up on and you say you dont want to rush/get too close that much or you dont want to handle 1 1v2 may wat to use Lancer from afar and just keep a steady bead on the ppl your shooting at and make your bullets count, shot gun umm....gnasher is good but most like to rush and ge real close, sawed of...lol Ah feel in love with the thing you you close to some one just blind fire and blam-o! hah but reload is so so switch weapons fast or run like hell! ^_^
