  • 1:32 FALL IN A MOUTH OF LARDY DARRR!

  • I tried the same thing at 1:25 in the morning on top of my apartment building to try to get a snow day for my university.

  • Can only think of the trolling Saruman video o_o

  • That sweeping shot... It's almost like cinema was invented just for that shot.

  • saruman has been playing skyrim

  • EVIL SARUMAN I HATE YOU

  • parseltounge vs sindarin

  • 0:47-1:45 sarumans enchantments= sound like finnish language

  • @lostalion29 Actually, Quenya's sounds are inspired by Finnish!!!:D

  • @ja2011ec how did you learn that?

  • Saruman and Gandalf are masters of the thu'um!!

  • "Losto Caradhras! Sedho! Hodo! Nuitho i 'ruith!" - Gandalf

(Sleep Caradhras! Be still! Lie still! Hold your wrath!)

"Cuiva nwalca Carnirasse! Nai yarvaxea rasselya taltuva notto-carinnar!" - Saruman

(Wake up cruel Redhorn! That your blood-stained horn fall upon the enemy-heads)

  • They're are using dragon shouts!!

  • thanks for uploading!

  • Favorite. Scene. Ever.

  • Aparently, when I get black out drunk I tend to recite Saruman's spell very loudly.

  • this must be the curse of 0bama in full effect on the whole mountain bringing ruin to all. *l*

  • Saruman almost chants in Kalevala meter. :p

  • 1. skip to 2:01

    2. pause

    3. go to nooooooooooooooo dot cxom

    4. press button

    5. moment of epicness.

  • you mad gandalf? :D

  • it's for that sweeping shot of Saruman= favorite moment of the series

  • @blknge Totally agree, I imagine Christopher Lee's epeen must of grown long that day he saw this. Totally in scope with Tolkien, and considering Lee is also a master of the written works he must of thumbs up to this one.

  • @Willifrex Yeah, Saruman must have been the dream role for Christopher Lee. And he did it so well! I can't really picture anyone else doing as good a job as Saruman.

  • At 1:26 he's actually saying:

Nanananana nanana nanana nanana na na naaaa ...

    Nananananna-nanann-nananan...

  • This is either the greatest or worst rap battle ever

  • woww!!!! Cristopher Lee has an awesome voice, INCREDIBLE!!!

  • really he says vagina at 1:30 :D

  • imo Peter Jackson/Tolkien showed a kind of magic I like. They don't try to kill each other with lightflashes and fireballs. But In this scene I miss Gandalf's flashlightwand. :P

  • I remember seeing this in the cinema. I was completely blown away and I had goosebumps over my entire body when Gandalf shouts NO! Fellowship is my favourite out of the trilogy I fucking love it.

  • One of my favorite scenes in the movie, such great collision, such beautiful conflict!

  • Why was Gandalf's spell overcome? Was it because Saruman was still more powerful at the time? Or because Saruman was using more of his true power than Gandalf?

  • @starlightdraik I assume he was still more powerful, since he already defeated Gandalf once in Orthanc earlier in the film.

  • @starlightdraik saruman was still the white, meaning he was the head of the counsel and had more power, Gandalf is then killed by the Balrog but sent back by the Valar (gods), when he is sent back he is made head of the counsel, and Saruman loses his color (rank), Gandalf then expels Saruman from the counsil by breaking his staff, and he is left being little more than some old guy (not a maia anymore, maia means minor god, the wizards were sent by the gods to give counsel).

    Hope this helps.

  • @Tobolococo Saruman lost his color BEFORE Gandalf died, when Gndalf arrived to Isengard he sees that Saruman is not white anymore, but of many colors

  • 2 people tried to bring down the mountain.

  • tHE SCENE AT 1:26 IS BREATHTAKING. The view of the valley and Orthanc, wow

  • This is really ONE of the most epic scenes from the movies. I always get goosebumps when I see Saruman on his tower like that.

  • WOW thank you for translating!

  • aw they hid behind the rocks and judging by the beginning of this scene the birds had seen them from miles away and even heard gandalf's plan

  • The scene always gives me chills..

No special effects, just wizards fighting with spells and countering each other.

  • IT'S SARUMAN! :D

  • 1:28 - tried that on my roof. I felt like a fucking god. XD

  • @juresaiyan my full respect!!

  • @juresaiyan Lucky that you're not be struck by lightning.

  • @juresaiyan

did you do that to? Cool :)

  • @profalconey3 yes :D

  • @juresaiyan You must have a damn high roof xd

  • Does annyone know what the music is called? been trying to find the rigth track...

  • Are elves immune to the cold? Is Gandalf? Legolas doesn't seem look at all uncomfortable.

  • @WAREHOUSE553 Pretty much, yes.

  • @WAREHOUSE553 They can also walk on snow without sinking.

  • @WAREHOUSE553 gandalf, legolas and gimli are all immune to cold

  • no, is the second oldest language, that of Maiar, Saruman says:

    "sede mas, otto far inase

    haiar lasia la senyar

    arc omovot(o) far inas

    huibo nuizo, hai lalto"

  • @danuisortiz u should be serious :) I watched the trilogy serie...

But u know that Solomon Prophet speaks birds, wolves...The name of his bird is Hûdhûd...I think saruman would send his birdz to get some information about gandalf frodo etc. where they are moving...

Somethings are related so much, somethings absoultly unrelated...

Sometimes, jews do like this movies (: one false information is imposed with several true information...

@nebojsa016stojanovic bullshit language of witchez .d

  • can anyone tell what language is this ? (language of spell)

  • @nebojsa016stojanovic To je vilenjacki jezik Kvenija koji se u Tolkinovom svetu koristi kao ceremonijalni jezik, npr kao latinski u evropi.

  • @nebojsa016stojanovic

    I think its Quenya.

  • Saruman makes the his servants build...

Likewise , Prophet Solomon(King Solomon) made his servants ,jinns, build Beyt -i Makdis(Masjid-i Aksa)...

At 1:29 , while saruman making magic that breaking down the mountain , his hands like Muslims are praying...

the name of saruman looks like Solomon...

    Some similarities are interesting...

  • @Javanak but completely unrelated.

  • the 2 ppl who disliked this were killed by the mountain.

  • Saruman says (in Sindarin): Wake up, cruel redhorn. May your blood-stained horn fall upon thy enemys

Gandalf: Sleep, Caradhras. Lay still, dont move

  • what a powerful spell... i wonder what this spell is actually about... to summon a lightning or to create a storm? or to bring down the mountain? n i wonder if this just a small fragment of the spell's full power...

  • @ImperialEarthEmpire To stir the Mountain, Caradhras, out of sleep to anger

  • I want long hair like Saruman!

  • Can someone tell me where the previous scene i.e. the snowfield where Boromir picks up the ring was shot?

  • @raimamasha Mount Ruapehu, Aotearoa-New Zealand!!!

  • The perfect powerful wizard vs. powerful wizard scene.

  • This is just too epic.

  • by the ballrog of moor-doorf!

  • Saruman dislike this video :D Lool

  • IT'S SARUMAN! *Rock fall* Gandalf! Shut up!

  • 1:10 over and over again: ACK! Nuuur!

  • that one who dissliked Justin bieber

  • I'm a die hard lotr fan but learning elvish language was too complicated for me (especially since I'm learning Japanese at the moment)

  • thumbs up if you can speak quenyan/sindarin elvish :D

  • This scene is amazing. Saruman's staff is beautiful and inspires power, at the same time.

  • 0:31 I cant find this song on the soundtrack, anyone know what its called?

  • I dunno how the hell sarumon gets up there everytime

  • @Desvena there is an entrance to orthanc at the top of a high stair

  • 0:41 LOL HOW DOES LEGOLAS DO THAT?! Theres a lot to the elves, so I'll assume its some type of magic. Enlighten me someone? haha

  • @DarthVaduh574

It's because he's an elf, and elves are lightfooted apparently. He does the same thing in the book.

  • @DarthVaduh574 Its just somthing the elves do

  • @DarthVaduh574 Legolas is so light (as it relates to weight) that he can walk on top of the snow. He is tall so his weight is able to be distributed over a greater area, so he does not fall through the snow like the hobbit or Gimli.

  • @Goobermanlawl

Voldemort! He probably has a wrist band that says "what would Saruman do". I hate how good Lee did Saruman, I don't think, no sorry, I know no other evil wizard can come close to matching him!

  • @HolyMith I know right. That's what I love about the first film it had so much atmosphere. The other two had a great atmosphere as well but I always have cavorts the first of the three.

  • this scene is just so atmosphereic, it is awesome.

  • seems like a lot of effort to conjure one bolt of lightning

  • i just forgot how fucking epic lord of the rings are.

  • can't reconize the first part

then gandalf say's: Losto Caradhras, sedho, hodo, nuitho i 'ruith!

that means: Sleep Caradhras, be still, lie still, hold your wrath

then saruman says: Cuiva nwalca Carnirassë! Nai yarvaxëa rasselya taltuva ñotto-carinnar!

that means: Wake up cruel Redhorn! May your blood-stained horn shall fall upon the enemy-heads!

  • Comment removed

  • @noujaadw Uh did you just make that up.....how do you know what he is saying

  • @david052856 transcript

Saruman: Cuiva nwalca Carnirasse; nai yarvaxea rasselya! (Wake up cruel Redhorn! May your horn be bloodstained!)

Gandalf: Losto Caradhras, sedho, hodo, nuitho i 'ruith! (Sleep Caradhras, be still, lie still, hold your wrath!)

Saruman: Cuiva nwalca Carnirasse; Nai yarvaxea rasselya; taltuva notto-carinnar! (Wake up cruel Redhorn! May your bloodstained horn fall upon enemy heads!)

  • @OlderG0ds There's a thunderstorm happening right now where I live and I send my friend a message of what Saruman is chanting, and my freaking nerdy friend actually replied Gandalf chant.

  • @OlderG0ds Really, cause I had thought he was trying to counter Saruman diretly

  • @OlderG0ds where did you find the translation and what they said?

and was it actually written by tolkien or was it invented for the film?

  • @TheNLguy Film transcript online somewhere. Not from the book I dont think.

  • Saruman standing on the top of Isengard towers is fucikng epic

  • Howard Shore is a genius with the Isengard theme

  • My only complaint is that Saruman's robes didn't shift colors. Saruman The White became Saruman The Many-Colours after he switched sides.

This was why Gandalf could become Gandalf The White.

  • Anybody have any idea what Gandalf was saying? All I know is he was speaking in Sinidrain, and I only know that thanks to subtitles telling me.

  • @starlightdraik i think you mean Sindarin, it's actually Quenya

  • something tells me Christopher Lee could still score women a third of his with that voice. panties? drop of their own accord.

  • Christopher Lee's voice is low and melodious, it's very sound an enchantment. Those who listen warily to his voice can seldom report the words they hear, for little power remains in them; and it is more powerful than rhetoric.

  • Christopher Lee needs to do a anti immigrant speech for the UK..

  • Legolas: "There is a foul voice in the air"

Gandalf: "Don't worry, its just Saruman singing, he likes do that!"

    LMAO

  • *Insert Paki dialogue here*

  • *Insert Paki dialogue here*

  • If the entire movie was just Christopher Lee shouting Quenya obscenities at hobbits for three and a half hours, it would be the greatest thing to ever watch while stoned.

  • (CONTINUING)

    cár+i+nna+r = n. head+supporting vowel+allative suffix+plural suffix

If you like Quenya, if you're an elf from Valinor, a hobbit trying to learn or a mortal man who already speaks it, follow me on Twitter! Look for Quenya101!

  • And just to complement my comment yesterday here is the Quenya analysis bit by bit of Saruman's sentence:

Nai = may (wish constructions), I wish

    yár+vaxë+a = Blood(archaic Quenya)+vb. to stain(Archaic also)+ adjectival suffix

rassë+lya = n. horn (especially living animals, but also applied to mountains)+your

talta+uva = vb. to collapse, to slide+ future tense suffix

notto = unattested form of 'enemy' derived from Moringotto = Dark Enemy

    (TO BE CONTINUED)

  • Just a little correction on Saruman's invocation:

    "nai yarvaxëa rasselya taltuva notto-carinnar"

"may your bloodstained horn collapse upon enemy heads"

  • their were actually stairs that went to the top of the tower but saruman got up by using magic

  • does anybody know the track name that starts at 0:30 ? its been bugging me all day

  • @SiiKSkollz t's part of 'The Pass of Caradhras'. If you go to youtube.com/watch?v=RqcEhAZst4o it starts at about 1:20

  • Comment removed

  • Gandalf said: Lostho Caradhras, sedo hodo, nuitho !

  • @chichibrava1 and what does it mean?

  • I always did wonder how Saruman get to the top of Orthanc, i think there is a secret door or something...

  • most epic thing i've seen, gandalf and saruman throwing words at each other through the air

  • goddamn the wizards' voices are so powerful, it gives me chills watching this beautiful scene

  • @coralin378 Same, unlike them shitty young actors now...

One the old actors die out we wont have epic actors only shitty transformers actors etc.

  • I was kinda expecting "RIIIIIICCCOLLLLAAAAA!!!!"

  • 1:27 I believe this is the only scene in the three movies where we can see the Isen river in all its beauty. Of course, it would probably be even most beautiful if had not been dammed.

  • i love sarumans powerful Voice, bäm !

  • k i get wat fotr means so stop saying its fellowship of the ring to me

  • Losto Caradhras, sedho hodo nuitho i ruith.

  • Hehe Christopher lee's finger is bandaged xD and 1.33 or something like that xD

  • so when is the fucking EE blu-ray coming out?

  • The music here is amazing. Too bad it's apparently too brief to warrant inclusion on the soundtrack.

  • @sethisawesome It was released thou, it's called "The Pass Of Caradhras" and you can find it on the complete recordings edition of the soundtrack.

  • There is a spiral staircase passage that leads to the top, in the fellowship of the ring Saruman uses his power to lift gandalf through the passage and onto the top of orthanc

  • what is the song at the very beginning?? or isn't it a song is it just music

cuz i swear ive heard it somewhere else

  • Is it weird that the first thing I thought when I heard Saruman chanting was, "Hey, he has to accept absurdly expensive long-distance charges, too! Suddenly my phone plan doesn't look so bad!"

  • He got a bandage on his middle finger if you look closely at 1:30 :)

he broke his finger irl if you wonder why = /

  • just the scene I wanted! This was great, thank you!

  • one of the highlights of the movie!!!!

  • @sf2Star thanks!

  • Saruman at his best, i wish i had this voice one day... epic

  • what does gandalf say at 1:18?

  • Saruman's voice in this scene gives me tears every time I see the movie T_T so freakin epic...

  • beautifull scene

  • Lol you know one of them just want to whack Legolas over as he's just hoping on the snow.

  • "Against the Power of mordor there can be no victory... You're all going to die" Saruman

I love lotr, and saruman is one of my favorite characters, ty for uploading this, 5/5

  • Christopher Lee's voice is wonderful.

  • @vonrelem For this scene, they needed no special effects to enhance Christopher Lee's voice xD hahahaha

  • Saruman was practicing tenor, he no real idea of their where abouts, in return it was Gandalf that triggered the avalanche,"Shout a little louder Gandalf! We can risk but a more powerful avalanche!"

  • @MrTheoriginalderek you sir, are too stinking funny XD

  • Saruman is here in the french alpes, trying to kill us with wind, snow and avalanches.

  • if you lisen closely at 1.30

it sounds like saruman saying. TURN TO THE WALLS OF COUNTY DOWN

  • yes xD it sounds like that XD hahah

  • holy fuck im in tears its epic

  • lol his voice can be heard from 20 miles :S

just like lord dennetor he can do some screaming too

  • and gandalf said?

  • Losto Caradhras, sedho, hodo, nuitho i 'ruith!

'Sleep Caradhras, be still, lie still, hold [your] wrath'

  • My favorite part of the movie, so powerful, acting and atmosphere, Saruman really feels strong here

  • That's what the spell means:

"Awake powerful Mountain! That your peak stained of blood fall upon the heads of our enemies! I command you! Obey!"

  • Cuiva nwalca Carnirassë!

    Nai yarvaxëa rasselya taltuva ñotto-carinnar!

  • At the end of the spell it sounds like Saruman is saying: "Hey ya'll ya'll go down to the walls of Moria Gandalf Greyham, only you can lead them. but thats just me

  • ZOMG... Saruman voice is so mighty!

  • And btw. this "Moutain Clip"... this small passage is called Caradhras.

  • My favorite scene in the first movie.

  • The birds told him, it's painfully obvious at the start of the clip sweety

  • How did Saruman know that Gandalf tried the Gadaras route? Did the Birds see the group or did Saruman use the seeing stone?

  • he uses the Palantir to communicate with Sauron, the crows are his spies.

  • But it looked like the crows weren't able to see them, and the eye was supposed to be fixed on Rivendell

  • Comment removed

  • How angry those "poor" human beings must have been (except Gandalf, who is - like Saruman - a Maia by nature), when a light and immortal elf hopped around them lightly like a doe. I would be jealous and pissed myself XD

  • fucking elf posers -.-

  • yeah :-)) LOL Exactly!

  • freaking awesome

  • At that time of the Story Saruman must be the most powerful being in Middle-Earth - exept Sauron.
