  • very good but stop singing other peoples songs. shinedowns better got nothing on them

  • @shaun7225 How dumb are you, someone doing a cover is a form of respect......keep quiet and respect this guys voice christ.

  • brent has a wider range than aaron and aaron doesn't do this song justice as brent does

  • @VideoGamer4Life94 That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Of course Brent is going to be better singing it... he wrote it.

  • he does such an amazing job, I wish there was a FULL HD version out there =/

  • @DownWithTheHerman

Me, too. But, at least this is in HD, and this is the most he's ever done of it. We gotta take what we can. ;)

  • i will name my dougther aaron

  • @sebasfold Learn to spell, then name your DAUGHTER

  • @Clipzin33 thanks for the correction, lol... english is not my first lenguage, but it doesnt limit my taste in good music.... :)

  • @sebasfold Correct, I shall be quiet now

  • he sings this better then shinedown

  • Man, I love his voice. Gives me goose bumps like no other :D

  • Raw fucking talent!

  • Not Like Brent Smith, but a close second

  • Awesome cover aaron lewis is the shit!!!

  • Aaron lewis is a lyrical and vocal genius this is not his song... He still does a fanatical job on the little bit that he knows... Everyone of you bandwagon fans that have jumped on in the lets say last 10 years need to listen to the first 2 albums tormented which was released in 1996 and dysfunction 1999. the vocals are pretty brutal and for him to vocalize as he does now is an amazing feat in its self.

  • in my opinion it's an amazing cover until the end he kinda loses it at the wnd but the man has sick talent....

  • @mrjugger fuck you

  • WOW

  • @Sped656

Agree: this is a bad cover but Aaron Lewis is awesome.

Disagree: Chester from LP is a talent SOB. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise. Ten Thousand Suns or whatever their latest is called blows but Hybrid Theory is a 100% amazing fckin album. Live he sings at studio quality. I've seen him once and went from 6 to midnight when he performed for 2 hours straight. Probably the best live concert I've ever attended....aside from Aaron Lewiss acoustic set he did at Ramshead in

  • i grew up in Knoxville so I seen Shinedown quite a bit when they were coming up. That being said, Brent DID have an awesome voice, he just did what alot of the 80s hairbands (think Skid Row) did, wrote the song in ranges that in a few years would either tear your throat or just be unreachable. Aaron doesn't do that so much, a few good high pitches here and there (like in Devil) but still attainable. He did go slightly off but in his own way still managed to make it awesome!

  • OMG WoW My body just can't get enough of this.

  • the thing i REALLY like about aaron lewis, is the fact that he does covers a lot, not just his own music. it makes him so much more interesting as an artist

  • it's pretty fuckin sad that aaron lewis just schooled brent smith on his own song.

Watch a vid of shinedown doing this live. It may make you WANT to shoot yourself. But that's okay it's not as bad anymore, cause i saw them live recently, and now he just fucking LIP SYNCS.

    Unfortunate.

As for the dude that said Aaron's off key, he is most certainly not. He did this better than brent does it half the time.

  • @CreepingDeathX I was going to say the exact thing...at least Aaron isn't LIP-SYNCING like the clown

  • Lewis has he craziest voice.

  • I wanna see Aaron sing this entire song, acoustic. I think it fits him better than Brent. Aarons voice is f-ing amazing.

  • Dear god... I like it better out of him then Brent himself. Cause... Well... Brent live kinda sucks. I actually walked out of the Shinedown concert I payed almost $100 for. I will never make that mistake again.

  • Hes the best thing to come outta the 90's...obviously besides nirvana and pearl jam lol.

  • this is sick!

  • aaron lewis Is a beast

  • Comment removed

  • dude chill out

  • Aaron is crazy talented... hes amazing

  • Aaron and Brent are the two best singers out there right now hands down.Great cover.

  • @kiba353 uh no...nobody compares to Chris Cornell

  • @kiba353 myles kennedy is the best singer alive. there are lots of extremely good singers, but myles' range makes him the best.

  • @kiba353 Brent Gee hope that is, lol.

  • aaron hasa good as hell voice but brent has one like no other.

  • Amazing this hits home especially by Aaron

  • wow, would have loved to hear him do the whole song

  • wow

  • Sorry, singer from Shinedown can sing that loud

*takes his words from the part with not loud singing back*

  • go and enjoy it then, and stop insulting people who dont like what you like..i guess thats what you do best

  • You're an ignorant ass hat. You have no concept of real music. What made you wach this video if you think it's so bad? His covers are the greatest. You're just a pussy

  • hahaha, ignorant As Hat.But Really Aaron Plays With Soul. He's one of My Favorite Singers

  • @mrjugger

im pretty sure it wasnt a lack of deoderant u were smelling...

  • Awesome, wish he'd finished it fully though, but it was still very good :)

  • i heard shinedown play this and aaron actually does better than they do. they sounded bad when i saw them live.(shinedown)

  • but u also hvae to think, brent was singing over a full band this is just aaron and his guitar, BUT aaron is awesome :D

  • Comment removed

  • dude stfu

  • I love both of these bands but you cant beat Aaron Lewis on singing. He is a legend, would love to see him do the full song.

  • i totally disagree with you.

does everything have to be perfect?

he does this with feeling, for me that is more important than fucking up few tones.

  • wow when he hits that "young mans hearttttt" thats just beautiful. i cant help but let tears swell up in my eyes. aaron lewis is amazing.

  • blows the singer of shinedown out of the water

  • na, Brent pulls off the power vocals like no1 else can, including Aaron Lewis. He IS good tho, nd he thros renditions nd his own emotion into covers which i like alot

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3 this is so sick

  • wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight

    beautiful lyrics

  • lol i was obviously joking.

  • he is awesome. every cover he sings he just blows them right the fuck up! This is the best singer out there right now on a male perspective anyways.

  • Personally i like shinedowns singing on this song better, but best male singer right now would have to be dc from submersed. The guy has a killer range, tons of power, lots of emtion, guys just amazing.

  • can we say "COLD CHILLS?"

  • amazing.

  • th-thats all i know..

    ha ha good job Aaron.

  • I would jizz in my pants if I saw this live.

  • good point..:D gonna see them in february :)

  • this shit is badass!!! he kills the original

  • i love shinedown... but you're absolutely right on that one! aaron lewis > all

  • he only does the one part of the song.

  • amazing i wish you posted the whole song i would love to have audio of this

  • Very nice Raina, amazing song

  • <3 aaron, the response at the end was priceless XD

  • way better then the original aarons the man he covers all songs better then the group that did em

  • damn! He always chooses THE PERFECT songs to cover then sings them so good! Love it!

  • Awesome!!! gives me cold chills! these two artists need to tour together!

  • they have....check out the related videos

  • they have theres a video on here of them singing together,

  • This guy gets after it! Amazing!

  • AAron is PERFECTION! Gerat vocalist, great song writer, he's truly a gift to the planet!

  • i repeat good luck with life mrjugger cause you're gonna need it!!!!

  • This guy is incredible. True talent and diversity = greatness

  • who gives a shit is amazing!!

the moment music becomes a subject of critic.

Thats when the soul music dies.

People should start making music for themselves again.

off key or not....simple song or very difficult.... it doesnt matter as long as u play with ur hart.

en that exactly how aaron play.

    nuff said.

  • ...once again, aaron lewis blows me away. I mean one note wrong, come on! that's a fucking hard song to sing, for any one. give the man some damn credit!

  • Aaron Lewis is AMAZING

  • mr jugger..do you know what a cover is????GOOD LUCK IN LIFE DUDE..lol

  • be quiet you asshole

  • fucking clown go drown yourself in a local river

  • lol yeah

  • That was the bomb digity

  • No, YOU listen...yes, just at the end, he sings slightly off key, but considering it's not his song, is NOT in a range he typically sings, he just did it on a whim, & did the rest A-freaking-Mazing, that isn't what we focus on. Not to mention that I've both personally seen AND heard MANY recordings of Brent (who also has a great voice) not only sing out of tune and off key on his own songs, but OFTEN completely not be able to sing half the words due to his voice always going out. Get a life!

  • @BornQueen If you look at other videos like any 3 non blonde's what's going on cover he actually sings MUCH higher.. like, soprano-range high. He went off key because he probably didn't know the song that well..

  • @iliekbigbuttz there's 4 non blondes

    you forgot one. lol

  • @BornQueen is there anywhere else that i can get the whole song?

  • Do you do anything other then bash people that do things you aren't capable of?

  • what the hell do you know about me you fool

  • @mrjugger ITS CALLED A FUCKING COVER! not the exact copy of the song with someone else!! u dnt understand music god damn it

  • @mrjugger Idc if this was 2 years ago, it only sounds off key ONCE to me. Your just jealous because you aren't Aaron Lewis ;D

  • @mrjugger thumbs up if this guy is retarded

  • @mrjugger you must be tone deaf, or just a complete moron.

  • wow...1:21....that note is so wrong, it burns my ears.

  • Soooo incredible.. he should have played the whole thing though...

  • i tell you what when your famous dress the way you want... but for now shut the fuck up and listen.

  • yeah right you redneck ass, he sings shit

  • WHAT????

i was wondering if we could hang out cause i'm trying to get a job at the mental center here, and i was wondering if i could hang out with you... they told me i needed some practice dealing with a retarted person. and i thing you'd be great to put on my resume.

  • spastic fan

  • Is there any song that this man can't cover? He does everything from to Billy Joel to Alice In Chains to Puff the Magic Dragon to Shinedown. I absolutely love Shinedown and I think that he pulls of this song very well.

  • lewis > shinedown

  • yup he brought sexy back

  • That's for sure! LOL

  • WHEW! I know that's right! lol..

  • staind rips azz yo, his big notes are spot on punks

  • Oh My god this is the first time iv seen this my god its brilliant beter than any cover o45 brillinat!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah. You Win. Night.

  • In there acknowledgments do they have single names? Just Curious. If not, please do not respond. We are both done with this fucking argument.

  • whatever dude. keep on living in your own world.

  • I will post whatever the hell I feel like posting. Of course Brent isn't going to say that he bought the song from a teenager. That would tear the band apart. I just know something you don't. No need to fight. By the way, I like Shinedown a lot. I have nothing against them. Brent is an amazing person. They do not write a lot of their own music anymore though. That is why it has been a while since they have produced an album. But there is one coming up so we will see what happens.

  • yea but according to you , they credit this teenager on the back of the cd for writing it . sooooo if that is true (which i know its not , cuz mine doesnt have it) then brent did say he bought the song from a teenager. make up your mind man... trust me dude, where ever you heard this from , its a rumor..

  • =) Nice Antics. Sure Brent would really like that, But once again. You win.

  • brent would like like what? the fact im defending him when tools like yourself take a song that he wrote, away from him?? yes i bet he would like that. i know i would. .45 IS NOT ABOUT SUICIDE. AND BRENT SMITH WROTE IT. now that we have the facts str8 leave me alone.

  • If i ain't mistaken staind and shinedown actually toured together and actually sung this song together so there now you got your facts together

  • yes they did do a couple stops together. buuuuuuuuuut whats that have to do with ANYTHING? lol

  • because people are bitchin about him singin this song

  • oh. dont see why , he does alot of covers. he rules.

  • and his covers often are better than the originals (so it seems to me)...

he's one of the greatest musicians of all time (if not the best) in my opinion

  • hell yea.

  • i bet you think lucy in the sky with diamonds is about a girl named lucy who flys, and wears diamonds? and it was written by some dude in dayton ohio because he gave his flying wife diamonds for his anniversy.

  • its about LSD.....

  • LOL

  • God Damn... Don't strain yourself. It is a fucking comment. I said You Win.

Rock, Is to "poetic and deep" for me? Analyze this Motherfucker....

"As I rid the views that they have shared, I sit in the dampest corner of the loneliest room, watching as the shallow blow continues to peeling above. " - Holden Roberts (Waste246)

If you are such a god, what does this mean?

  • it means someone sat in a basement that flooded, and his little brother kept punching him in the crotch, while the paint on the roof peels...... oh wait thats what you would say, because your more of a literal emo,or rap dude, that doesnt understand rock music. have a nice day. I did win. ohhh and .45 IS NOT ABOUT SUICIDE.

  • "And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,

Swimming through the ashes of another life

No real reason to accept the way things have changed

Staring down the barrel of a 45"

That just about as suicidal as it gets my friend. But, Im Done. You win. Shinedown wrote the Damn Song. Hahaha

  • its a fucking metaphor!!! brent said it himself in a radio interview!!! .45 is a metphor for the world, and how the world portrays you, be your self first "be comfortable in your own skin" (his exact words)..... i can tell you know nothing about shinedown. and I KNOW i win cuz brent wrote the fuckin song and your dumbass is tryin to take that from him. IT IS NOT ABOUT SUICIDE. NEWB

  • rock is obviously WAY to deep , and poetic for you. stick with more literal shit like emo, or rap.

  • Aaron covers this song amazingly. I have met both Brent and Aaron and I got the chance to talk to them personally. Aaron just has a way about him. Fuckin Awesome...

Also for those who didn't know, Shinedown didn't write .45

  • shinedown didnt write .45!?! the song was written by brent smith who is the lead singer of shinedown. soooooo i would say, yes shinedown wrote .45 LOL!! so quit confusing people

  • Ok.... I'm not going to argue about it. A student from Monument, Colorado wrote the song. He dedicated it to his brother that took his own life a while back. His name is acknowledged on the back of the CD.

Didn't mean to bring confusion to the board. Just posting what I know.

  • dude, the song IS NOT even about suicide! the .45 calber gun, is a metaphor. i have NO idea where you get this stuff from....

  • not tryin to argue about this either, but it seriously sounds like you caught wind of some sort of rumor. rumors like this are pretty common. though ive never heard this one before.

  • nah shinedown r much betr..dis aaron lad cant hit da notes lik brent..

  • No shit sherlock! He's not Brent and he's a different style so shut your ass!

  • obviously hes not brent u stupid fuck..n i didn say he was bad so dnt get fuckin pissed off..but jus 2make u happy ill change wat i sed..in my opion shinedown r betr. happy now?

  • fuckin beautiful voice.

  • yes i aggree with mike eddy.. shinedown does do it better... but i like arron lewis's verson better mainly because he changes it to his own style and it does sound good..

  • Duh shinedown does it better. They wrote the fuckin song.

  • He said that that's the only part he knows since that's what he sings with Shinedown. I am having a hardtime debating on which version I like better Shinedown's or Aaron Lewis's.

  • Thanks for posting this vid, its awesome! Aaron makes anything and everything sound great. What did he say at the end, I didn't quite catch everything?

  • I get chills listening to this cover song.

  • you guy's are so lucky :( i'm stuck in new zealand ._. not many people even heard of staind :'(

  • love the guitar

  • Believe me, me too!

  • of course i do! Layne Stanly is amazing, he'd be number six.

  • Aaron has the best voice in music. my top five are as follows.

    1.Aaron Lewis

    2.Amy Lee

    3.Brent Smith

    4.Shaun Morgan

    5.Robert Plant

  • yuo don't like layne staley?

  • or maynard james keenan?

  • This man is so beautiful and talented that he can take anything and make it sound original. Aaron is definitely one of the best voices in music history, in my opinion.

  • i just saw him tonight, he toyed with us, and played some of this too but didn't sing the chorus.. he did comfortably numb, intro's to patience, freebird, stairway to heaven a few lines of three backstreet boy songs, some of sexyback lmao and all his hits etc

  • I know...I was there, too ;)

  • I mean...damn. Listen to this man cry! This is seriously emotional. It almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • No, no, you misunderstood! I said Brent does Simple Man better than anyone else...we had an ongoing convo...you had to read all our posts.

  • shinedown doesnt come close are you kidding me?? aaron lewis is awsome but!! Brent Smith has a better voice! go watch a shinedown video or something, you will see hes much better! lol cant believe you think hes better.

  • someone whos a die hard staind fan will always think aarons better. duhhh

  • Not necessarilly true. I consider myself THE die-hard Staind fan, but I can say that Pink Floyd definitely does Comfortably Numb better, Robert Plant does Going to Cali better, and Brent definitely does Simple Man the best (and I'm a serious Skynyrd fan!), among other things. Yes, to me Aaron is hands-down the best singer/songwriter, ever. BUT, I don't think he's perfect or does everything the best...just is more likely to ;) lol

  • well good point lol

  • I might have agreed with everything you said until I watched a live version of Simple man by Shinedown on here last night, and that may have been the best vocals I have ever heard for that song. I dont think it's possible to do it any better, than the live video I saw here last night

  • Then you DO agree w/everything I said, because I said Brent (the singer for Shinedown) does it best.

  • I have seen Staind and Aaron Lewis 11 times, Shinedown only twice. Shinedown doesn't even come close, and they fuckin wrote it.

  • great cover, just not as good as Shinedown's. aarons voice just doesnt do this song justice, brent just rules, no one can sing it like brent can

  • I'm going to have to say this better than shinedown live because when aaron sings this I get goosebumps and with shinedown, i just dont.
