This song became famous by being sung by an amazing singer, with an amazing vocal ability. As such, we hold to a high standard anyone who attempts to sing this song. As a singer myself, I understand that we all don't sing like Jennifer Holliday or Jennifer Hudson, etc.. But, I can enjoy and appreciate singers who are very good in their own way. I would have given you a chance, my friend...but, the "auto-tuning" was over the top.

@laketahoeG Dude hes not singing INTO the mic, which means hes not doing it to be heard, its because hes doing it to record, when you record your voice is ALWAYS altered, even if its not on purpose the mic does it for you. You dont audition like that.
