  • Most of us absolutely love this anime. We watched it from day one and it's far superior to the original. The ending is breath-taking and about every episode after the fourth leaves you wanting more! Can't wait for the movie do be westernized! 5/5!

  • wtf? it keeps freezing!!!! >_<"

  • Dude, i wish they continued fm a s1 epi 51 on to fm a s2 epi 1 2 3 and all of those!

  • I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! not as good as the original though

  • Entire dub version: check!

    Sub time!

  • Okay, so this IS the 1st episode of the whole series, right?

  • @jcoffee180 yes u might think that its not becouse theres one called Fullmetal Alchemist and this one is brotherhood but this ones more revolved around the anime and much better imo

  • Man, FUCK emos, brah. Knaw what I mean, bruh?

  • *Funimation, You should be watching!*

    YES SIR!

  • Sort Of Spoiler!! Isaac had a good cause for his actions:)

  • the only mainstream anime with an amazing plot, no shitty fillers and doesnt get stretched to fucking 500+ episodes?

    NICE.

    VERY NICE INDEED.

  • @ApostleOfDub hmmmm the original Gundam Z, or even Gundam 0079 or like a billion other mainstream anime that have great plots like Beck Mongolian Chop Squad or Hellsing .Hack Sign and Evangelion. Those are some really good "mainstream" anime's that have amazing plots.

  • @ApostleOfDub I dunno, would you consider Cowboy Bebop to be mainstream?

  • Spoiler alert-ish; the freezing alchemist would have been an ally later in the series if you think about it (and have seen the end)

  • FMA:B is way better than FMA

  • SPOILER 14:33 "Do you know what this country is trying to do?" No, but Hughes finds out...

  • @Kingskarl2 and he pays for it

  • @demonsecho They both do. Its just kind of cool in hindsight, in this episode the freezing alchemist is seen as an anti-government psycho but he was right all along..

  • Just finished watching the series, Again.

  • philosopher's stone? i see a harry potter reference..

  • @imsleazyforweasley Seriously? A Philosopher is a philosopher and a stone is a stone. That's not a reference to anything, it's a thing.

  • @imsleazyforweasley Potter wasn't the first to use the philosophers stone....

  • <3 to Armstrong XD

  • i liked the chuck norris ad better

  • please dont hurt me, this is an honest question. What is the difference between this series and the one before? Ive watched the last series and a little bit of this one but i cant seem to find what's different.

  • @nikoisbaws25 The first series stopped following the manga (It's source material) around episode 20 something. Brotherhood covers everything the original anime covered in those 20 something episodes in just 13 episodes then starts going into a storyline never seen in the original.

  • Whoa. Ed sure seems to like screaming.

  • Be honest, how many people watching Isaac vs. Mustang where thinking about Katara vs. Zuko?

  • @grumpygoldfish13 Same here!

  • @grumpygoldfish13 sorry dude. when i watch katara vs zuko, i think about Isaac vs. mustang XD FMA ftw

  • one that follows the manga, yay :D kickass opening song too

  • is this the season 2??

    i dnt get it!!

  • Um ... what is this supposed to be? I feel like I'm watching a rerun of the original but with different camera angles. Is this a joke or something? I'm so confused. Someone please help!

  • @Clel0005 One of the top comments explained it already. Basically, the original anime aired before the manga finished so that anime became different about halfway through. The brotherhood followed the manga more closely than the first anime.

  • @Clel0005 the beginnign is the same, but after like ep 10 or something it changes!!

  • @Clel0005 This series for it's first 13 episodes are the same as the original series first about 26 episodes then it becomes different.

  • everything here is like gibberish....

  • i know this 1 is based off the manga but i perfer just Fullmetel Alchemist

  • Hm, is Ed's voice actor the same person who voices Hitsugaya Toushirou in Bleach? They sound similar. It's funny how both character hates being called short. lol

  • It's funny how, when the un-original is the first you watch, one is too close-minded to watch the true original.

After I've watched brotherhood, I can't believe I was so stuck on the first one. The first one had an actual child play Alphonse rather than a female voice-actress. Not to mention they bothered showing the scene of where Alphose awoke in his armor-body.

Yet, I find I might as well have been clutching to candle-light while the invention of the light bulb existed.

  • @team10leader1 wow, nice analogy.

  • @coolhomie777

Thank you. If you want a better analogy, it's more like not wanting to go into outer space and explore the surface of Europa (one of Jupiter's moons), just because you still think the earth is FLAT.

I'll admit, there were some episodes of the original that entertained me. It's just that the Original and Brotherhood just seem to clash in my mind, like having "Wolf's Rain" cross-over with "One Piece".

  • @team10leader1 lol i know both of those animes.

so in that comparison, is it...?

    FMA=Wolf's Rain

    FMAB=One Piece

because the 2003 series seemed darker and more serious to me. especially the last few episodes.

  • @coolhomie777 Of "One Piece"? I'll take your word for it.

But I'm saying the Original and Brotherhood are as different as the two said-animes. I mean, look at the animation styles of each anime. Wolf's Rain makes One Piece look goofy and charicature-like. And Visa Versa, One Piece makes Wolf's Rain look somewhat colorless and dark. Both have thier pros and cons.

Actually, the two are like Miyazaki's "Ponyo" and "Princess Mononoke".

  • Isaac's got the right idea, you know...

  • can someone answer me just one question

does this continue from the original one like this is like the 2nd season or somethnig because i am on the 37 ep of the original

  • Thumbs up if you can't wait for The Sacred Star of Milos !

  • 30 second advert about genital warts

  • Me: I can't wait to watch this!

    Ad: TROLOLOLOL....

  • this is one of the greatest anime story lines ever nuff said!

  • Wait does FMA brotherhood or the original FMA come first cronologicly

  • @xLotaSwag

The manga started out first, in 2001, the anime came later in 2003. Both were reasonably similar. However after the original anime finished (just FMA), the manga continued. Because the anime was noticeably different from the manga after a certain point, I think popular demand asked for an anime to follow the manga's portrayal of the series. That's where FMA: Brotherhood came in :) hope it helped!

  • @Okamitsu it did thank you

  • @xLotaSwag there both pretty similar Brotherhood goes on longer if i remember correctly(sorry if im wrong) and imo brotherhood is better

  • Ahhhh i liked the remarks ed made in old FMA when people insulted his height =x, now he just says not to call him that and hits them.

  • @98765432123456781000

FMA is the first senario that could have happened.

FMAB is the second senario that could have happened. It just changes course from the original one after a few episodes.

In my humble opinion, i like FMAB better. Much better story line and happier ending lol

  • @76branbran

Thats when you read the subtitles ya idiot

  • whats the opening song called?

  • @lpkzc Again by Yui. (:

  • wow...ching ching chong ching is all i hear in thees japanese versions

  • This is the second season and FMA is the first season... right? I'm confused now...

  • @skoaldipper125 Thats because FMA strayed from the manga around episode 15-ish.

then brotherhood is everything redone and sticking to the manga. basically regular FMA is half filler

  • why is every thing in chines

  • Ed: Loses arm and leg.

    Al: Loses whole body

    Winry: Slightly loses balance.

    (⊙﹏⊙ )

  • Am I the only watched Fullmetal Alchemist first? I feel like everybody watched Brotherhood first but I haven't.

  • @marissawtts i did and im confused cuz doesnt al like come back as a ten yr old w/o his metqal body

  • @bloodytears6274 His soul still ages, so I guess since his body is still in the gate, it does too. That's a confusing matter in this series, isn't it?

  • @bloodytears6274 yes, but idk if he does in this

  • I'm surprised at you, Funi. Usually your dubs are exceptionally good, right up there with the guys who dubbed Samurai Champloo and Disney, who dubs the Miyazaki films. But here, even though you've had plenty of experience at this point and managed to make the DBZ Kai/Yu Yu Hakusho dubs way better than the originals, here it's only at "meh" level.

Subs all the way, I guess.

  • Gotta say Brotherhood is different from the original FMA but it's really good.

  • @skoaldipper125 Actually, Brotherhood is technically the "official" version of FMA, since the Brotherhood is based off the manga, and therefore follows the plot made by the original author.

  • @EaterXo as much as i hate to say it i never got a chance to read the manga. I was actually on Netflix looking for an anime to watch and i saw FMA and starting watching it. and since i finished that i'm now watching the Brotherhood series and i'm loving every second of it

  • @skoaldipper125 Because this one actually stuck to the manga. The other was completely different.

  • @yokomomochi WRONG this original FMA has its own story, while FMAB follows the manga. Know ur facts, its gonna help u ALOT.

  • @paero357 ... That's what I said. So I'm wrong, but your agreeing with me saying your right?

  • @skoaldipper125 this is the original FMA, the manga is the original and brotherhood is the animation of it. The other one can't even compare.

  • @skoaldipper125 Brotherhood follows the storyline of the manga

  • @skoaldipper125 yup seen all of FMA...now going this one :P

  • @23ele yeah that was a long time ago but I feel like watching this...

  • @skoaldipper125 You mean the original FMA anime is different from Brotherhood. :| Brotherhood follows the manga.

  • @skoaldipper125 its better story wise but the animation is not as good. iprefer brotherhood because the original doesnt fallow the manga

  • @skoaldipper125 Yes but the original FMA has a terrible ending, this one has a great ending.

  • @SoberEire74 true i will agree with that i do have to say though the FMA Movie was amazing since it picked up where the original anime ended. I honestly like both series overall they're both amazingly great

  • @skoaldipper125 Well, it kind of is the original FMA you know? It follows the manga. So it's different from the original anime haha

  • Everybody Who is new to FMA please watch the first one and the movie! The experience will be so much better. Thumbs up so everybody can see!

  • and fffffffffff I thought they kept all the voice actors/actresses the same ;^; roooyy whut happend 2 ur voiceee Dx

  • In the first 15 seconds I am blown away at the beautiful difference in animation quality from the first anime.

  • song name for the intro anyone?

  • 1:56

  • I love Kimbly...

  • 鋼 の 錬 金 術 師

  • Elicia :3 shes adorable !!

  • I spread the word of FMA:BROTHERHOOD to others on the most veiwed video on youtube :)) (Justin Bieber)

  • why must they always ruin his nice cote?

  • Best series ever.

  • Poor Isaac. He was telling the truth....

  • Comment removed

  • The art looks a little different. O.o

  • YOOOO!! This series is the SH*T!! Much better than the first one. Action is NONSTOP and the story goes much deeper. I'm absolutely hooked and I'm only at episode 24!! It's rare to see an anime of this depth in the US nowadays. Now if the only made a Berserk anime that actually followed the manga, that's be SWEEET!! I know they're making some kind of OVA's but how closely will they follow the manga or how much of it will it cover remains to be seen, seeing as how the manga is still ongoing.

  • @ZenMasterT07, yeah i know. that's because this one actually follow the anime unlike the first one which did follow the manga but change a few things.

  • did they remake this series ? i remember watching this storyline before but not like this lol

  • @KillerBeeLariat Sort of, Brotherhood is like the same story line except a new adventure. Its like a new season, thats all.

  • Yes, this is the episode Ed gets his scar.

  • Wow I thought that they were gonna continue in the parallel world, but they just made a new beginning

  • I just finished episode 64...

    thats why im here :(

  • @KingOfEden12 Amen, brother. I'm so sad now :(

  • whats the reason why they made 2 fma and fma brotherhood? and whats the difference

  • I love the Jrock band L'arc en ciel because of this Fullmeral Alchemist! Can't wait to see you guys in US NOV.29TH!!!

  • The fight scenes make me think of dragon ball z or classic kung fu movies. I just saw Films of Fury and this really resonates with that. The way martial arts have transitioned from the Eastern realm and have a large impact in Western entertainment is great. For anyone that like kung fu movies, you need to check it out, bitly .com/qOQ9US.

  • That Freezing Alchemist has some moves!

  • woa, edward called bradley fuhrer, does this mean this story takes place in Germany?

  • @poppoppop802 I think they catch Hughes annoyingness better in the English version xD

  • They have very wide rooms, eh?

A trend with recent anime, I guess?

  • ya know what? i figured out what ed, al, and winry lost!

    ed:lost his arm and leg

    al: lost his entire body

    winry: lost her balance!

    (reference-the opening theme)

  • all right,

who are the 120 idiots that hit the dislike button?

man, 120 or more people dont know what a good series is. thats just amazing.

  • this was probably asked before, but Im way too lazy to check back in the 7000+ comments.... but why is it that the brothers don't know Hughes and his family in this series?? Weren't they there when Elicia was born?

  • @julz314 No, in this one they were present at the birth of a complete stranger :/ And Winry delivered the baby... while Al and Ed cowered in the corner xD

  • @Silvericewarriorcats lol I cant wait to see it, but somehow it makes me sad that Ed and Al weren't there for Elicia's birth lol!

  • @julz314 You gave me something to look forward to XD I haven't watched the original yet, just Brotherhood :3

  • @Silvericewarriorcats Do watch it. It may not be what Brotherhood is... but it's still FMA and it kicks ass no matter what version it is (plus you MUST see the Conqueror of Shamballa at the end of the series... I've had that movie since it came out and I still get teary eyed when I watch it ;) ) FMA FTW!

  • @julz314

Brotherhood is a completely different series than the first. Don't expect things that happened in the last one to happen in this one.

  • @SmileySuperSam well Im at episode 9 right now (If I wasnt working I'd be done lol) but I love it. The part with Tucker, Nina and Alexander still broke my heart 1 thousand of million ways... So things do happen, but differently-ish ;)

  • @julz314

Yes, and while the beginning episodes are very similar, it gets REALLY different as time goes on. After a certain point it's just BOOM. Not the same.

That part with Nina always breaks my heart too... I can't help it... ((sob))

  • WHY ISNT IT IN ENGLISH DUBED!!!!!

  • @Kabar6HD because the japanese version always sounds better c:

  • @simplypianissimo although that is true for most cases, the fullmetal alchemist dub, in my opinion was the best quality dub ive heard

  • @TheTurtleKing100 its one of the better ones but still as always not as good as Japanese it is tolerable unlike most of the others

    ex....Desert Punk

  • @simplypianissimo Opinion. To me, everyone in any japanese dub sounds either way too high pitched, or way too deep. Plus I can't distinguish japanese voices because well.. I'm not japanese.

  • taboo sounds so funny. when he said, "u guys commited the taboo" i started laughing, lol

  • how many eps r in this 1? 51 like the other?

  • WOOT! Major Hughes<333 YAY MORE OF THE GUY WHO IS ALWAYS SHOWING OFF HIS DAUGHTER<333 :DDD

  • @AnimeSNShana then he DIED!

  • @SageZane560 Ikr >:L That sucked so badly!

  • why is it in every anime that after episode 4 is freaking in japanese? even though im asian i dont give a shit we live in america people they need to put this shit back in english DX

  • @lizziechan21 your watching Japanese anime while complaining that it's Japanese................. wut

  • @lizziechan21 no one gives a shit bout your stupid ass comment, its in Japanese, and people like it so stfu, and also Japanese is better ! :D

  • just finished original FMA anime cant wait to wait to watch the one with the RIGHT ending instead of that other crap.

  • @Goshujinsama01

the other crap was the original

  • @AlexDamienSabattis acutally, since this series follows the manga correctly, this is the original material. the first series is some rando crap

  • wait so random gay sex scene

  • You don't know how excited I am for this series <3

  • lol ed at 5:01

  • the original japaneese voices rock!

  • ui[lkmupoy,kljo,uykoij,umykijyiumhjyikujyio9mujiyumjy9iumyoiujmyoiujmhyiujmyiumyikujmyiumjyijumyiujm6yjiumnyijumn7yijum7yijumn uijnbuyhgbvyhvtyfvtyftyfygyftyffffftf tft fty ftftftyftytfyyfty fttt ftftft fttrfgtghtyhjm,kl./"\

  • anoo....i'm probably wrong...but doesn't hughes die in the original FMA series? i thought brotherhood was like a sequel to the original FMA series? what time period does it take place in? O.o

  • @stargirlvictoria It's basically a retelling of the story following the manga instead of the way the origional anime went before the manga was finished.

  • @omegarune2 so . . . is this story telling from book 1 of the manga?

  • @nakimushikareshi It's the whole manga. Keep watching. Personally, the manga storyline > original.

  • @nakimushikareshi The first episode is original material not from the manga. Everything else is.

  • @stargirlvictoria Brotherhood follows the MANGA. The "original" followed the manga until a few episodes. It went completely off track.

  • For those new to FMA don't give up after this episode it explains everything in the second episode, like why Al is a suit of armor

  • lol roy has a ton of extra gloves lol

  • Jah jah this is a show to promote illuminati awareness.

See if you can find the pyramid were edward elric is explaining to the women that she cant bring back the one she loves.

  • ed is fricken sexy

  • Whoa. I just compared the english to the jap and the Jap voices are MUCH better O.o

Anyways I don't remember any of this in the manga. Since when was there a freezing alchemist (I love this guy's power though, it is awesome :D )

  • i like this show

  • Hahahaha.... Their all all Nazis once the series is over in Germany. Bwahaha.

I cried manly tears like a bitch when hughes Dies... FUCK....

  • This is my fourth time watching the series again. Its just that good. And for all the people out there who are watching this for the first time, Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is the best anime ever. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @warriorcats4ever100 ive just started watching fullmetal alchemist on netflix and its bad ass!...since its your fourth time watching the series, is brotherhood a redone of the original with better graphics or did they just improve the series?

  • @PROLEGEND702 the first few episodes are similar but after that brotherhood follows the manga more closely while the original had an original middle and end.

  • @thunderrn ohh that's awesome! thanks for the info really appreciate it

  • @PROLEGEND702 yes, brotherhood is a redone version of the original one. It also is based on the manga of FMAB. Brotherhood is better then the original one in my opinion. But I hope you enjoy both series :D

  • @warriorcats4ever100 thanks alot Im looking foward 2 watching brotherhood after I finish the original...and lol yeah FMAB seems more epic

  • @PROLEGEND702 it also has some new characters which make brotherhood a bit more badass in my opinion XD

  • im love with edward hee soo little lol

  • im loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee with this anime, i can watch it over and over and over again

  • i don't understand. I thought this continued where the original series left off but it has absolutely nothing to do with it. For one thing, why the hell are Hughes and Bradley still alive?

  • @70marco80 - The first series is independent, while Brotherhood follows the plot of the manga.
