  • greatest opening ive ever seen....

  • Yes, they are that good.

  • i was at this show. awesome!

  • whats the song before everything went numb?

  • @soragarza It's a song called When Johnny Comes Marching Home. It's from the Civil War iirc. If you google it I'm sure you can find out whatever you'd like to know about it.

  • mendez8006 you from oklahoma?

  • who missed the like button

  • I play trumpet in a jazz group and a ska band, and i move around ALOT when i play, just the opposite of this trumpet. But he reminds me of Louis Armstrong with that towel he has. But they're all amazing. And one time i came into my jazz group and started playing a ska grove on top of a jazz chart... it actualy sounded pretty cool. My group is going to make a ska/ jazz grove that switches between that narrow divide.

  • When the jumped right into everything went numb, i skeeted everywhere.

  • Go Bari sax!

  • @Awesomonewb YES!

  • bands like these guys make me proud to be the sax in a ska band.

  • I wish I could see these guys live... but i'm going to be in afghanistan for a year...

  • their bassist is unbelievably good

  • yes, they do...but i hope they don't.

  • MASTERS!!!!!

    THAT INTRO WAS AMAZING

and this song is so cool

you guys are great keep doing your best

  • Wow. I haven't listened to streetlight since middle school. I'm in college now and its funny because i'm just realizing what good musicians these guys are. To write a song that technical, fast, and catchy and to play it live as well as they do is pretty amazing.

  • They are good players. What they played was catch, but it is not amazing. No disrespect to them, but our collective idea of what a good musician is has gotten very low.

  • Do you mean "what they played was kitsch"? Otherwise your statement doesn't really make sense... it kind of makes you look like a day-dream johnny.

  • he probably mistyped "catchy"

  • this is it....

  • I'm a jazz musician that listens to Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Miles Davis and many others. I can honestly say that the songwriting and playing of these musicians is AWESOME! The harmonies on these horns are so tight and complex, and the melodies are so varied, that I think their sense of music is better than many fantastic jazz players. Streetlight is kickass.

  • That's what's so awesome about Ska. It blends all the best parts of so many genres proving that we really do have some fantastic musicians alive today!

  • @AmplifiedRhythm cool story, not overly impressed. You are impressed. It is a shit ton of stuff to memorize, learn till it is so ingrained it is robotic, then unleash the energy in front of a crowd. Like I said they are good. Also, what do you mean "sense of music"? Also, my tone is mellow in all this, it is so hard to get that across, everyone thinks everyone is yelling :-)

  • Haha, I'm not looking to impress anybody. I'm in a ska band right now, one that looks to streetlight for a lot of inspiration. I can honestly say that, although the horn players in this band aren't absolutely mind-blowing, they have a lot of talent that should be recognized for what it is. By "sense of music," I'm referring to all the little things in the way they play the music: sliding into notes, dynamics while playing, controlled tone - and all of it while working with the rest of the horns.

  • amazingamazingamazing this band is AMAZING I love them sooooo much! I WOULD KILL TO SEE THEM LIVE!!!!

  • What is that little small song they play before Everything Went Numb?

  • When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again. Bitchin intro. They better include it on their covers album..

  • The Ants go Marching in. :D

  • or search Dropkick Murphys - Johnny i hardly knew ya ..... and you'll see :D good song too! celtic punk

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooood when playing live

  • these guys are so good live when i first heard em i bought all 3 albums!

  • This band really deserves more attention than they get.

  • Yeah, they do.

  • @PlanetaryIceDebris they're right where they're supposed to be, big enough to play big venues, not big enough to play horrible kiss fm or shit like that

  • @PlanetaryIceDebris

If they do they'll go the way most good bands go. and thats down down down to Mehpisto's Cafe.

  • if i could be in this band for one day...my life would be complete

  • exactly what i thought, fuck i love this band

  • hah great intro great band great song

  • how is he singing so fast.? its not possible... LOL love streetlight ill be seeing them at warped tour this year in dallas :):)

  • Streetlight Manifesto is a Skalnoky band. Did you know it is absolutely impossible to kiss your own elbow?

  • I wish I had that bari sound D:

  • the intro is hilarious!!! i love it, the only band (other than the aquabats) that i can think of that would so that

  • their drummer is so awesome

  • thiss roooooooooooooooocccccckkkkks!!!!!!!! i favored it, and gave it 5stars!

  • Thanks :)

  • siiick...i was here, awesome fucking show

  • Dude, trumpet is playing a Monette, surprising yet awesome. I though he would want to cut through it a bit more, but he does just fine!

  • yeah, I just transcribed the whole thing on finale. the melody of the ants go marching is simple enough but the other harmonies are a redonkulous.

  • for what instrument? and do you think you could email it to me, it would help me out alot. My band is learning it.

  • dammit I want to hear more of the ants go marching in intro! truly epic! nothing other version comes close

  • ke wena kancion..!! ;);)

  • trumpet screws the last 3 notes. cant hear them... E, D, C#

  • the last three notes arent E D C#

    they're D C D

  • wait, do you mean last 3 notes on the intro, or to everything went numb? either way you're wrong ^_^

    last 3 notes on intro are D C D

last 3 notes to everything went numb are C# D C# *insert thumbs up here*

  • the last three notes for the trumpet in Everything Went Numb, is.... D dotted quarter note, E D sixteenth, C# eighth.

im a trumpet player and can cover a lot of their songs, I know dude. ha

  • Haha I'm trying to figure this out in my head, I sort of play trumpet too but I learned it by ear but If I'm not mistaken the last 3 notes of the song are: C# D C#.

  • maybe im wrong. but i doubt it.

    listen to the beginning of everything goes numb. where the trumpet starts the little running passage. the A D E D C D---E F G A Bb A G A--- Bb C Bb A Bb A G A G F E A D E F G A Bb C D.

the 4 notes in the first section after the A sound like the last 4 notes of the entire song, except without the sharped C.

by the way. when i say these notes. i mean written for trumpet. not concert pitch or anything else.

  • listen to the actual album and either slow it down or continuously listen to it.

im not the best at learning by ear so maybe i am wrong, so if i am please let me know.

  • I can only learn by ear haha. It gets your pitch to be so good try it!

  • how about this. play along with it and see which notes line up. your C# D C# or my E D C#

    haha

  • who cares what the notes are, just enjoy the song

  • truly epic !

  • epic intro...

  • haha. oh streetlight. to me this song will always be the stairway to heaven of third wave sky. they shouldn't have had that damn foolish feud with catch 22 and realized they could be a tribe bringing together two of the best 3rd wave bands in history. up there with big d and mu330 fo sho.

  • that show kicked ass

  • im so jelous i wanted to go to that concert, but there was no more tickets I LOVE STREETLIGHT! <3

  • is that the same trumpet player who played with RBF at the house of blues?

  • i think hes was a backup, but i think hes part of streetlights tour now

  • he looks just like him. im seeing both next month

  • thank you for the goosebumps!!!

    love it!

  • lol...the ants go marching in!

  • This is really good quality. Not to mention the fact that Streetlight makes any video amazing, despite its quality. I learned all this on my trumpet a little while ago. ...Except for the end of Everything Went Numb. Pretty crazy stuff right there.

  • its not that hard.

  • Haha try it down an octave. Then use the same fingerings with it up an octave.

I can do it but its pretty insane.

  • i learned the opening trumpet thing on this song on my trumpet...not the march in the begining (which was sweet) but the opening trumpet solo thingy in everything went numb

  • I saw them in brighton playing with reel big fish twas very very awesome great song but RBF are better though

  • streetlight has a more entertaining show though

  • oh my goodness! you just made my day. i was at this show. first time in boston just for ltj and streetlight. <3

  • lmao! cngrtulations for this song! very very god

  • I think the intro is the best part >_>

  • thanks for that lumberjackskaman! I have been trying to remember it's real name. everyone has been telling me "when the ants go marching"

  • they did that too at the concert in omaha. i didnt get it. its a patriotic song I THINK
