  • It's not about the weigh, although it could have help some people maintain a better center gravity. However, in I Liq Chuan, it is clearly not about that. Please check out Dasha's videos as she is a girl standing no more than 5'6" and weighs less than 120-130lbs. She has claimed multiple times the push-champ title, Euro kickboxing champ, as well as the Muay Thai champ title. In her highlights video, it shows her being pushed by multiple bystanders and not move an inch.

  • Confucius say: Everybody grandmaster behind computer.

Before you call a man fat, get off your own fat ass and work out with a REAL master.

  • aint this stealing

  • it looks like a lie, i dont know, i know wing chun, but how can this dudes do something like that?

  • @lordcapucino cause this isnt wing chun. you can not believe you must experiance it. I never believed it myself.

  • Great video ! He may be fat , but this Sifu is very , very Skilled ! If you wanted to cross arms with him , you`d have to be very , very soft . Thanks for sharing .

  • @sjander29 He is not fat, son. He is massive. Thats not fat, its just a fat LAYER. Underneath that layer lies huge solid muscles.

Couldnt you tell by just looking at his back. When he is talking in front, look in the mirror behind him. His back is huge. Muscle huge, son.

That man is like a sumo wrestler. Cept that he has speed, technique and power.

  • Америкосы это не Тай-Чи а Илицюань .

  • The added mass involved with obese people, if they use their body as a fluid whole, does increase the force geometrically. Force is equal to mass time acceleration. Ignoring rotational elements, doubling your mass will double your force. Your knees may not last, nor will you likely live very long... but you sure can be powerful.

  • at his body weight, pretty much anything will work. :)

  • Who is this guy? can someone tell me his full name (and lineage/style?)

  • Sam Chin, co-founder of I Liq Chuan. He's very good. I've taken one of his weekend seminars & his push hands is exceptional. Very sensitive & strong. He's also a devoted zen buddhist & shares everything he knows openly.

  • Who's washing up in the background.

Being serious I do this exercise with my Sifu and that guy is showing a tremendous amount of skill. Think of it as a preview of what he could do to someone in a real situation.

  • He is a piece of cake.

He does have something, but in high level yet.

  • sorry last comment was meant for debranco or what ever his name is.

  • hes fat

  • and your stupid dumb ass, he split you in 2, it also proves you know shit.

  • u make it sound as though i lied, just stating the obvious

  • that's true he's a strong big guy

  • fat ppl are crazy powerful

  • then im king of the world!!

  • lol!

  • @Interrogater disagree most of them have a really weak body

  • the only thing this guy can kill is a 12 pack!

  • This guy would own you.

  • another key board tough guy, hey go a chalenge a guy like this and he will break you up

  • lets see some of these skills in mma...waiting....

  • bet you're 15 and watch UFC while drinking warm milk at night you horrible gobshite.

  • whereas you roll around on the floor with other men in sweaty clinches. I'd rather be al talk myself.

  • eat my sweat

  • nice..

  • very good tai chi teacher!

  • whats with he Glaucoma-vision?

  • Master sam chin is one of the nicest and skilled teachers out there he's the real deal! And no ego.

all respects Master Chin jose (chen taiji)

  • I've always believed that most asian martial arts do not reveal their lethality in the ring. Matter of fact, most martial arts aren't intended to be used in a fight, but to defend. Squaring off is a 50/50 prop. but gouging someone's eye or striking their throat unexpectedly is at worst an 80/30 prop.

  • what do u mean 80/30 prob...????

  • Interesting how people watch someone perform and then say, "put him in a ring and he won't do well". That doesn't prove anything. Hey, hang on, put Mike Tyson or Shamrock in front of an AK-47. According to some of you, that would mean they're useless, right?

  • Very well said.

  • This is the balance control technique.

  • Why these super mighty sifu's don't get into a ring? The mysteries around chi are misleading too many people. If a sifu isn't in favour of fighting in a ring, he souldn't be doing martial arts, shloud only be doing yoga or chi kung!!!

  • some martial arts were designed to strenghten ones own body so it would be strong in meditation, nothing else. Not all martial art practitioners like to compete.

  • Martial Arts are not just for fighting, they are a way of life

  • Tai Chi Chuan is often labelled as a martial art in english which i feel is misleading, wushu is more appropriate as the characters translate as "to stop conflict" i feel this is more in keeping with the intention.

  • no, it translates as 'grand ultimate fist'.

  • read my comment again, i DIDN'T say Tai Chi Chuan translates to "to stop conflict", and yes 'grand ultimate fist' is one of many western translations, although i think 'Yin Yang Boxing' is more appropriate to the theories ?

  • whatever. However, I think that to sugest that tai chi is not a martial art is a damn sight more than misleading. do some reading, go to a proper class. The Chen vilage fighters were highly prized as bodyguards and caravan guards. I think the fact that 'chuan' ie, 'fist' is in the title is a bit of a clue.

  • I was just meaning that the western translation of martial art isnt as accurate in describing the intention of tai chi chuan as wushu ('to stop conflict'). I am fully aware that it is a complete form of fighting system, i was just suggesting that the intention of the art could be better described.

  • Fair enough. Wushu seems like gymnastics to me, and lacking any martial intent. In response to lineofmypeople - MMA is a sport with rules. Tai chi is a kiling art. that's why you'll never see it in the ring. Don't mistake what you se for what it is in an aplied situation.

  • That's why it's called martial "art". It's not only a technique for self defense, but also an art to enhance your self-awareness.

In a ring fight between two equally skillful people, the stronger/faster one usually wins. I used to play judo with olympic qualified players. I can easily throw the female players even though their skill levels are better than me....

  • Not everything is about gaining recognition in tournaments. A fighter may have his hopes and dreams up about climbing the ladder and becoming the champ, but a martial artist's journey is largely inward. That doesn't make them any less valid.

  • hey dumbass he's been in the ring and done his time when he was younger...he's older now and focusing on teaching.

  • put him on fight he dont look anymore so good!but in this exercise he looks good!:)

  • impressive reminds me of 1 inch punch! i like the shoulder strike at the end. in kenpo karate fa jing is also known as directional harmony.

i am wondering if the sifu does any dynamic tension or hard qi gong

  • this is of course real, chinese internal fighting, as shown in kungfu movies (although a bit exagerated), not magic, but then bruce lee never did this why, because weapon fighting (most external of all) is still greater.

  • Yes theres skill here.. whats this sifu's background?

  • how it works in real fight?that is easy done to students who are not as skilled as teacher in this exercise:)so we see again illusion:)

  • How do you hit someone who is unhittable, or damage a target who is no longer there? That was awesome that the guy CONTINUALLY had his energy turned in upon himself

  • there is no energy evolved in it but skill in this exercise but real fight all those things are very little meaning if at all!

  • The only thing annoying is the person washing the dishes in the background!!!

  • lol, I had one of my dad's friends do that to me with one hand and I fell over. I'm weak against skillz =(

  • This sifu shows good power and balance of ying and yang -- good stuff!

  • Fa jing is most useful when you're too close to the opponent to do hard strikes. Short distance with a sudden force of power that basically shakes the person in a way. Such as fa jing to the chest would give you a sudden stroke to the lungs making it hurt. My si gong Kenneth Chung has done it to me before with "demo" energy and I had internal pain for about a minute.

  • I have a lot of respect for Sifu Sam.It very funny how people can be so critical of him and then back down when you give them an invitation to his school.

  • Fa jing, to put it simply, is sudden and direct force which, through training, one learns to properly direct. To put it even simpler, fa jing is "explosive power". It's in alot of martial arts. Hell, at one time, I could do it pretty nicely.

  • no god... watch this.. 'sim pooh ho' good viedo.

  • it is yiquan.

  • Hmm, it looks exactly like Tai Chi Quan "fa jing". The training also resembles a bit to the Wing Chun "sticky hands". The concept reminds me of the martial art, (Yi Quan) created by Master Wang Xiang Zai...Could it be a new creation of a 3-in-1 martial art? hmm...

Anyway, the offcial site does not give much details about the history of Yi Li Quan. Check it out~

    www.iliqchuan.org

  • Fa-jing is pretty much the same through-out the internals. Different styles have different takes on it. ie. Wudang has Shaking as does Chen Taiji. It's all whole body power.

  • I though fajing incorperated whole body like -one inch punch-but also uses chi

    internal energy

  • Yes Sam can use this to fight ;)

Tho you could test it out yourself by hoppingn on over to NYC.

He was the thai boxing champ in Malay several years back.

  • Ok, I admit it was a little ignorant. I was wondering if this style uses its forms in sparring and fights all the time?

  • I looks as though the "volunteers" are purposely falling.

I wonder if this master can use i liq chuan's or tai chi chuan forms in sparring and fights. He doesn't even apply good stances and skillfull footwork. Looks like another Tai Chi Dance instructor, ie. bogus Tai Chi Chuan instructor. Face the truth, and learn from it.

  • Blade that has got to be the most ignorant comment I've ever heard. He's not claiming he can fight and beat anyone, its a demonstration of sensitivity. And from what I've heard Sam Chin is the real deal, its not Taiji, its I Liq Chuan. Their pushing hands is ALOT different and very fundamental.

  • Sifu Sam Chin was definitely not dancing around. Perception is deceiving. You may have to touch hands with him to find out if you can't see the true functions of what he does!

  • listen man, dont even try to explain it to people who arent even ready. i know it and about ten in one thousand know it. its for us not them, that is why it is esoteric
