The United States gets less than 2% of oil from Libya. Military intervention is toxic in America these days which means Obama is taking a risk. A risk he would not take for 2% of our oil imports. I know it's hard to believe, but this time it is about the people. This American only wants to help the people of Libya. Am I sure that intervention is the right course? No. My point is that this is not about oil for me. This is my will as I see it. This is my truth. Libyan life above all else.
@USA The current Libyan rebel leader lived in a $500,000 home(he did not work) within 20 miles from CIA HQ and returned to Libya in mid Mar. The USA has frozen 34+billion of Libya's assets(Those numbers are from mid march)-largest asset freeze in human history. The Federal Reserve bank loaned billions to Libyan banks at 0.0%. Prior to the USA announced the invasion(on TV - March 1) there were almost no reports of human right violations.It is not as cut and dry as you choose to see it
@MsAmazighgirl Do a google search. Set the parameters 1990(Or any early date) until Feb 5th 2011.... Search libya human rights, libya torture, libya violates citizens...... As I said prior to when the USA decided to invade them(Until the USA made up the story?) almost no human rights violations are reported on the entire internet. I do not live there. Amnesty International, Red Cross, Green Peace or many other humanitarian groups never reported serious violations 90- Mar 2011 either.

People I love have been jailed and tortured. there was the prisson massacre of 96, and his dealing with Nafusi and Toubou people. its not that they made stuff up , they just focused on it now. There's a lot of info on the web in Arabic and Nafusi Amazigh. check out what the libyans have been posting on youtube for years throught art and music. The US didnt make it us, they just ignored it while the oil was running.
