  • How very apt the last few sentences are in this snippet from a most excellent movie. I rather fancy the likes of The Greens have ideas as old as the windmills mentioned here, save the replacement of the word turbine for the word mills no doubt 1

  • Does anyone know the music that plays during this scene?

  • It seems to be a variation of Chasing Sheep.

  • I'll dig my Draughtsman's Contract CD out and have a look see if it's on there.

  • @vivat78 Is A Watery death. You can't find this part of the xong on the priginal soundtrack but it is there in the composer's cut re recording

  • argumenteren -- you are the man.

    Your translation was much appreciated.

  • Mr. van Hoyten:

"Mr. Neville heeft u waarschijnlijk geholpen met het maken van een bruikbaar voorbeeld, mevrouw. Zijn tekeningen mogen wel van groot belang zijn voor u en voor de opvolgende eigenaren van Angstey. Al is het maar om een idee te geven van een in atheïstisch opzicht van het probleem van een goede tuin."

  • Mr. Van Hoyten:

"Mr. Neville probably helped with the creation of an usefull example, madam. His paintings might be of great importance for you and for the successors of (Compton) Angstey. Even though it's just to give an idea of, in an atheistic way, the problem of a good garden."

  • @argumenteren .

I've been wondering what he said since I first saw this film broadcast by Channel 4. Thanks.

  • @argumenteren - he has quite a Dutch facial phenotype to make up for it, however.

  • @argumenteren Dutch, to tell by the writing, would sound very complicated, though it goes quite smooth :-)

  • The best scene.

They´re already thigtening the noose around the draughtmans´s neck.

And he even doesn´t realize it.

With the music counterpointing all this.

  • I love this landscape, Greenaway made his latest film here (Nightwatch)

  • It is Groombridge Place at Groombridge in Kent, now open to the public since the death of the then owner, but not, alas, in homage to the film, only as a theme park. Apologies if you know this already.
