Good luck with future herping and ur camera, Hopefully Ill get some marsh frogs, and common lizards soon. well im going out lookin for lizards and adders 2morrow, but seeing as its snowed for the last 2 days I probably wont be able to lol.

    cool

    cya, joe.

  • Great stuff Erik. You must have a great macro-lens on your camera as that tadpole shot was a blinder. I've never seen a newt tadpole (if I'd even recognise one if it I saw it), and am really jealous! Keep em coming sir.

  • haha cheers and nah its just a samsung digimax UCA-5 cost like £60 haha

cheers, more herping vids out soon, hopefully some more species from round about

  • was it pretty hard to find? cos i live quite close to you and i have never seen one

  • haha if you know where to look then its pretty easy, but they appear to be very selective in choosing places to breed

  • great picture. what a chubby lizard

  • i tried to correct it but then the comment was already posted

  • haha no worries

  • Nice Pictures-great finds- That stinks about the video function on your camera- That moss you took the pictures on is really cool looking-Baker

  • cheers Dan, yea, i think it was just the impact on the ground that knocked it out for a wee while but its back good as new again wo im going back at the weekend if its nice :D

  • Good one, that's the sort of thing I love to see, the only amphibians in Tasmania are frogs. So newts are amazing to see. I things you grow up with may seen common but real herpers love all herps!

  • yea, im used to seeing them all so they arnt special to me but i know id go insane if i couldnt go find them lol

  • nice find!

  • There ya go! Finding a newt would be definitely a cool thing here in Colo. I'll trade you a garter for a newt.

  • haha its rare to find newts here too lol

but i would have gladly traded one for a garter

  • looks like a fun day! That half-metamorphosed newt is really cool! The one adult newt looked like a pregnant female.

    Nice stuff, Erik

  • yep she was indeed, full of eggs amongst the water plants getting ready to lay, never saw any males so i assume they also reacted to the early spring, incidentally, there was surface ice on the water... but still frog spawn and tadpoles/newts

  • I still haven't seen my first 08 herp yet...

  • aahh, so does my colorado wish he was in Scotland now? :P

(you really dont, its damned cold! haha)

  • I'd be cool to trade places for a bit, huh? I'd like to see the "atta", slow worm and amphibs over there more than I want to see anything around here...

  • it actually would be pretty cool, id like to catch the garters etc over there too

but for the time being stuck in our own countries and we'll have to make do with whats available to us haha

  • garters! lol... of all the things... that's too funny :)

  • first comment yay nice vid
