I say cease war on herb, while all chemichal drugs are destroyers of humanity. Their makers and distributed shall be judged harshly by man and God, while addicts need treatment. So no arrets for joint, focus on real crime against the people!

all drugs must be legalized, but not sold by private companies. look at what they did to tobacco. they ADDED alot of chemicals that should not be in cigarettes. if weed becomes legal, i don't want business to ruin it by adding addictive chemicals.

This is a tragic waste of cash and won't really turn these people around.  They need real jobs and the ability to support their families without recourse to illegal activity. Legalize all drugs and treat real addicts like the medically dysfunctional souls that they are.

no, its not, but it does create crime. The same way illegalize unhealthy food or video games would make crime rise because people would still do it except instead of buying it from a legitimate company the would by it for criminals using that money to buy guns and kill people.

i don't even use drugs and I want it to be legalized.

Great article on Arpaio in the New Yorker. I sincerely hope that this expose gets national attention. We need to reform prisoners - whether punishment is part of that is an open question, but read the article and judge for yourself.

You sound like someone who has had an experience with the Sheriff. I lived in Phoenix for several years and it is hot but lets see if the prisoners would prefer tents in Arizona in the summer or tents in Montana in the winter. My beat is they would prefer Arizona.

These prisoners seem to be well fed and get a lot of time in the beautiful Arizona sun after they have committed a crime. This Sheriff should take a tougher stand.

These are small time crimes they have committed so I think this is appropriate punishment.
