Im glad I bought one from you. I have had it on for a year now and wouldnt have it any other way. Now I can swing my detector like a maniac for hours! Thanks. I dont understand people who complain about the price, if you think something costs too much just dont buy it, dont complain about it.to me its worth the price.
@SanDiegoDigger Thanks for the support! Yes quality costs a little more and I'm selling quality. Believe me - there is not much profit built in for all the work it takes. Great hunting to you!
I think the price is very reasonable due to the quality and time that went into the build. I could have made one myself for less but i admired your idea and thought you should be rewarded for your time and effort. Its the American way. Great video and product!
I was actually going to buy one until i saw the price for one on your ebay store... Awesome product, but I wouldn't pay 35 bucks for one... Maybe 15-18 bucks at most. I could build my own for like 4-8 bucks at most and it would be just as good!
@RapidFireForFreedom You might build one out of wood or plastic for 4 to 8 dollars. But try buying 6061 solid aluminum. Lathe and mill work. Don't forget that shipping is included. The bolt and nut isn't free. Plus try to make a little profit in there too. Anything less than a quality piece will soon work loose and wiggle then break. Quality does come at a price. I don't mind people making their own.But don't gripe about my price unless you know all the facts. 260 sold not one returned.
So true - I use the MXT and enjoy finding older coins, but really my best hope is to find something I never expected to see. I'm also gearing up to learn how to gold prospect. I think I just like the searching, if that makes sense.
You make good points; I was thinking about the relative cost to the detector; i.e., most people who purchase a lower end detector do it for cost reasons. Sort of like putting 2K rims on a car only worth 1K. However from what I've heard about the Ace 250, people buy it because it works so well. So you are saying the relative value with regard to improving functionality is good and I suppose in this case I would agree. I know I enjoy the best quality when it comes to purchasing tools.
@codawson Thanks. The world is filled with stuff that doesn't last. Or designed to fail one day after the warranty ends. We have all been there! The Gizmo is not one of those products. What machines do you have and what do you like hunting for?
Great idea, but the price-pint needs to go down. When the detector costs $212.00 - a $33.00 accessory is too expensive. It is possible the quality is higher than needed; often the case with a prototype. Perhaps current efforts would be scale back to something still high quality and functional, but nearer to half the cost. If done right, your profit would be the same; however your sales could double. In any event, this is a great idea for the ACE 250, as it is manufactured too small.
I have kept the cost down on the Gizmo. My first prototypes were tube and wood. Both got loose after 8 hours of constant torquing.Being solid metal eliminates that problem. As for the cost in comparison to the machine? Well a pinpointer is $129.Lesche digger is $49.What's wrong with something that makes hunting easier on your arm for $26.99 like my Gizmo? f I made it cheap I wouldn't be up to my and most users standards they are expecting. Users say it's worth every penny.Check my feedback on ebay.
@muckytrowel Quality isn't cheap. 6061 aluminum isn't either. That arm cuff gets a lot of torque so you need something substantial to take the stress. I have sold close to 50 units with no returns or complaints. If you were to take this piece to your local machine shop they would charge you twice as much as I'm selling them for to make one. I'm not making a killing on these either. Check out my feedback on these Gizmo's on ebay.
@mowerdog I checked out your feedback on eBay,people say these are great items and well made.I know quality costs money!! If these were sold in the uk and i didnt have to pay postage id buy one tomorrow, just a little expensive with the p&p.
I just received my Garrett Gizmo yesterday in the mail. Received excellent service and fast shipping. The Gizmo really is a top notch product. The extension is very well machined and easy to install/setup. Absolutely amazed at how moving the arm cuff back a couple of inches really makes a difference in the balance and feel of my ACE 250. I use the 9 x12 coil most of the time and the constant nose heavy feel of the 250 was fatiguing my arm quite a bit. This extension has cured that problem.

I got mine. nice build quality. The nylon nut keeps the bolt from backing out. Makes the Ace feel like a new machine.
Thanks

@codawson The MXT will prospect very well. I usually dig everything above iron. Doing this nets you some surprises. Good luck prospecting!
