Man, I really love the original, but I'd kill to have this version. I'm not going to say one's better or worse - but I really, really, love this one. I wish Merritt'd put out an bare-bones acoustic album. Sometimes I think his great melodies are lost under layers of sound.

I think everyone sounds raw and beautiful here. This clearly tops the original song - taking it down to strings only was an awesome idea. The tone of the vocals are also different here and just have an all around melodic sadness to them.

This is the definitive song for anyone who just can't get over the person they lost.
