I just bought this game today and IT IS FUCKING AMAZING!!!!! The only reason I never got it before was because I didn't own a Wii until recently. I would STRONGLY urge anyone who owns a Wii to buy this game.
Please make a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine. In my opinion, that was an amazing Mario game, and definitely one of the best. With the GameCube controller the game was simply incredible, and for sequel one to appear(on the Wii platform), I'm very sure a lot of people would take interest. Another suggestion would be to allow the player to decide between which Nintendo controller to play the game with, as demonstrated in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

I don't get why people bitch about these "Great Graphics" if you want good graphics BUY killzone 3 this game is also repetitive all you ever do is collect stars like every 7-10 minutes then get a grand star then Rosalina tells you some dumbass history I have this game and it sucks ass its also very easy I can get complete a galaxy in 20 minutes also there is little to no dialogue you also look like a dumbass waving the wii mote to get star bits and the anti aliasing needs more work

I brought Mario galaxy recently and I've saved peach and I've nearly got all of the stars... but I don't think it's the best game ever like everyone is suggesting. Sure, it's well polished and has great level design but I didn't have as much fun with it as I did with Twilight Princess! This is a good game that every Wii owner should have, but I still think the old mario games are the best...
i dont think he stressed the soundtrack enough. it makes much more impact than you would think, for me at least. the fully orchestrated sountrack is just incredible and really makes the experience so much better. the fully orchestrated OST just beats everything out of the park
Even after all the credit I'm still not sold on this game. The gravity looks insanely fun, Rosalina isn't a downer as this guy claims, she's a touching dose of humanity, and Bowser's freaking Bowser, but, I'm just not willing to cough up 50 bucks. Can someone convince me? P. S. no matter what, No More Heroes will always be the wii's greatest achievement. P. S. S. I'm not a blood whore. I love Rouge Galaxy, Crash, Spyro, and Kingdom Hearts is my favorite series ever. I'll take up any genre.
the stingray riding level in galaxy is my favourite level of both galaxy games hands down absolutely perfect controls and soo much fun to play, and i say this even though i do prefer the second game overall
@PatriotCondor This game will look amazing on any TV. As for the Wii's graphics in general...reports that Wii's capabilities are on par with last generation hardware is just not true. The graphics are up to date and can be enjoyed today. If try to go back to old last generation games, you'll see a big difference.
Classic controller is only extremely useful for playing games on virtual console which I personally don't do at all. The virtual console games don't look so good on HDTVs.
@PatriotCondor To add to my previous comment, getting an extra nunchuck attachment is useful because some wii games require it. The classic controller doesn't have rumble which I personally feel is important...virtual console games don't support rumble so not missing anything there but some wii games support the gamecube controller as well, example Goldeneye and Mario Kart, which has rumble. But in general, classic controller not necessary for wii games.
My favourite Mario Game(s) would probably be Super Star Saga (they need more RPG's), Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Mario Brothers 3 & World.

I've grown out of the Series. Super Mario Brothers was the first game I ever played and it was all I played for years.
I'm 18 now, I prefer Games with an actual story-line and interesting characters. I still hold respect for the series though, and still a fan of Nintendo.

@mujuma I got New Vegas last christmas but have never played it... I was still trying to fully complete Fallout 3 but I lost the save. For some reason I didn't even care that I lost over 200 hours of gameplay, actually I just started again as soon as I realised lol.
This game was AWESOME, I completed this fully as Mario, and I have about 90 stars as Luigi. Though... I have to say, Mario Galaxy 2 is twice as good. I played that ALL the way through 100%. The Grandmaster Galaxy was incredibly hard though.

Compared to Galaxy 2's "Hey Mario, go save the world while riding a dinosaur!", there's little contest. For me, Galaxy 1 represents Mario's absolute highest potential.
@ronvnkl232 The guy got a point. But you can't think a platformer like SMG2 beats SMG1 when theres always going to be 2 Audiences, one that likes SMG & the other likes SMG2.
SMG2 was great but I expect that since they improved as a Sequel. Though I was a fan of the Open World Environments that I saw on SMG while SMG2 was like platform to platform though not as exploring as SMG was.
Then I saw SM3DLand as a comeback with some exploring again. If it wasn't for SMG existing, no SMG2, but a Series.

Incredible visuals and level design, immensely delightful orchestrated soundtrack, very fluent animations, very entertaining, refined and always original gameplay.. what more could you ask for? This is STILL the overall finest, most polished and amusing wii game to date (yeah, even better than its sequel). It's the ideal mix of intensely creative and constantly impressive adventure and contemplative and beautiful exploration. With an atmosphere and charisma of its own. Brilliant. Bravo Nintendo!
I really miss Nintendo games, I have a PS3 and 360 but I never bought a Wii even though I own a Gamecube and SNES (which I still play a lot). IDK should I wait for Wii U or just buy a Wii now?

If you're an experienced Mario player, collecting all 242 Stars isn't that difficult. I started the game on Sunday again for the 4th time and I've already got nearly 70 stars. SMG2 is a little tougher to get all 242 stars but still relatively easy to attain if you're an experienced player. I'm waiting for the new DLC for Fallout New Vegas next Tuesday so just thought I'd blitz through SMG again. It is awesome. If you have a Wii and don't have this game, then you need to acquire it now!

This is quite possibly the best game to come out of the seventh generation of consoles. I think it's better than the sequel, and though I'm liking many games these years, this is one of the best things I ever played.
@Podings I agree. 2011 has been an amazing year with so many top quality releases but...this game was just of another echelon. It's really hard in this day and age to produce something that truly compels you because I'm so jaded with every game being in 3D and having pretty good graphics and sound. This game is proof that Nintendo will be around long after everyone else has run out of juice.

I really need some advice here.
I just bought a Wii for my kids for Christmas. I will hook it up to my 60" Plasma with component cables and upscale to 1080p.
Will this game and most Wii games still look good on such a big tv?
Also, should I stick with only using the motion remote, or get two classic pro controllers too?

Bethesda never disappoint with RPG's, hopefully Skyrim will live up to Morrowind and Oblivion, which I believe it will.

@NuclearFallout321 owch mate, I know how that feels. For the PS3, the most I've put into a game would be Final Fantasy XIII and Mass Effect 2.
Completed FFXIII 4 times, twice 100% and about 300 to 400 hours worth of gameplay.
Currently completing my 9th playthrough of ME2, which lasts around 20-40 hours depending on how you play.

@AlexfromNorway I disagree. The game felt like a chore and I was bored all the time. The game had an amazing concept along with amazing visuals and I believe the actual fun and creativity with the level design came in Super Mario Galaxy 2, not this.

@ronvnkl232 Because Galaxy 1 was something special. The game had an atmosphere of unparalleled beauty and intrigue to it that was previously unheard of in Mario games. Compared to Galaxy 2's "Hey Mario, go save the world while riding a dinosaur!", there's little contest. For me, Galaxy 1 represents Mario's absolute highest potential.

@ronvnkl232 The guy got a point. But you can't think a platformer like SMG2 beats SMG1 when theres always going to be 2 Audiences, one that likes SMG & the other likes SMG2.
SMG2 was great but I expect that since they improved as a Sequel. Though I was a fan of the Open World Environments that I saw on SMG while SMG2 was like platform to platform though not as exploring as SMG was.
Then I saw SM3DLand as a comeback with some exploring again. If it wasn't for SMG existing, no SMG2, but a Series.

Incredible visuals and level design, immensely delightful orchestrated soundtrack, very fluent animations, very entertaining, refined and always original gameplay.. what more could you ask for? This is STILL the overall finest, most polished and amusing wii game to date (yeah, even better than its sequel). It's the ideal mix of intensely creative and constantly impressive adventure and contemplative and beautiful exploration. With an atmosphere and charisma of its own. Brilliant. Bravo Nintendo!

@xHAZELRAHx it is but it's kinda spendy when you want to play the n64 games there 1000 points (10 bucks) but there are no slow downs, you have a choice between a classic or gamecube controller (i would choose the gamecube since you own one and it saves some money that way) there is also snes,nes sega genises virtual console arcade,neogeo and i think commadore 64 so if you get the wii i would check the virtual console out ,really the only expensive vc games are the n64 ones lol

If you're an experienced Mario player, collecting all 242 Stars isn't that difficult. I started the game on Sunday again for the 4th time and I've already got nearly 70 stars. SMG2 is a little tougher to get all 242 stars but still relatively easy to attain if you're an experienced player. I'm waiting for the new DLC for Fallout New Vegas next Tuesday so just thought I'd blitz through SMG again. It is awesome. If you have a Wii and don't have this game, then you need to acquire it now!

This is quite possibly the best game to come out of the seventh generation of consoles. I think it's better than the sequel, and though I'm liking many games these years, this is one of the best things I ever played.

@Podings I agree. 2011 has been an amazing year with so many top quality releases but...this game was just of another echelon. It's really hard in this day and age to produce something that truly compels you because I'm so jaded with every game being in 3D and having pretty good graphics and sound. This game is proof that Nintendo will be around long after everyone else has run out of juice.

IGN always gives con's on games that are stupid. Mario isn't perfect because the storybook?!?! If the controls were flawed or a slam dunked presentation I can understand, BUT that's dumb. Plus, the book isn't irrelevant, but it certainly doesn't make or break this game.
