  • pliz what is the link

  • can you please tell me how to extract this for myself, for those of you who are worried about the "law" , im asking for "educational" purposes only

  • i seen heaps of animated models but none/hardly any have been distributed

  • man people are retarded -_-

  • copy/paste

  • OMG! Where did you get this hands plz?

  • wat progam did u us

  • 3ds max

  • @snoopdog4588 he probably used maya which every gaming company uses to make ther characters and animation

  • @CaseSix

It's Max, not sure which version but he uses Max for sure.

  • lol you n00bs dont know when someone is trollin :/

  • English please. I cant speak n00b. I could make SOME of it out, and bungie will NOT give you recon. They don't care about modding or hacking unless you take it online. In yother words OMGGGGGG bungie r teh l33tz nd du nut carz b0t diz s7uv

  • Multiple things

    1. Annoying

    2. It is called Halo: ODST

    3. Halo: Reach Beta comes with ODST

    4. You are an r-tarded noob that feels it neccesary to type like a ****ing idiot for no apparent reason

    5. Bungie probably wouldnt care about something like this from a year ago

    6. noobている場合は、雌犬!!!!!!!

  • It's not Hlo: ODST, it's Halo 3:ODST, you retard.

  • Well SORRY.

  • ........ i really hope that this spelling is a joke dude, really WTF?

  • Omfg u stupid dipshit. Look at the video's date, and go to this guy's channel. Does he still have halo 3 extracted content videos?

    Pwned urself nub

  • Will Zteam be making Lockout aswell?

  • hey can you tell us how it works so we can make our own tools?

  • He won't tell you how to rip or teach you. And i kind of agree. 1,000 Halo 2 replicas ain't custom at all.

  • nope

  • dude, unprotecting maps is as easy as shit. He's not stupid enough to release tags just because you're stupid.

No one even said these were tags yet, its just animation extraction

  • what animation studio is that?

  • 3ds max

  • you make my balls hurt....

  • wow they are slow on making that zanzibar map

  • What makes you assume it isnt done?

  • :( if it is WHY HAVNT THEY RELEASED IT!!! AM DIEING OVER HERE AND SO IS THE CE COMMUNITY LITTLE BY LITTLE! RAWR

  • Fuck off. I speak to CAD alot and they are in full production. You too, Halox100000000000000000000000000000000, they are at full rate.

  • your talking to barron :|

    i still love you.

  • it is from halo 3. not the beta but the game itself. look at the bolt where it slides. it doesnt have the thing where it locks into. they changed it from the beta into halo 3

  • No. The bolt flies back when it fires, not in the reload, it always did in the reload. Also, this is from the beta. He has told me the Retail version has a huge fucking encryption scheme.

  • Oh ok. Then I was wrong.

  • encryption =/= compression.

  • Just pull it back a bit and it will be perfect not pointing up not pointing down just straight.

  • I'm going to say this is from the Beta until I'm proven wrong.

IE until I'm shown an Elite model fully rigged and animated. ;)

  • no its not from the beta. its from the game itself. you can tell because the beta had slower ar reload as supposed to the retail game

  • Which nobody can prove, really.. though it might be the case.

It's just, there's no textures, and they could have easily used another FP animation that WASN'T in the beta... equipment drop.

In any case, ZTeam really has no more right to be doing this than any other modder. Just because they can write a program that can extract information from a game doesn't mean it's okay for them to. Bungie worked hard on that game, I doubt they want people extracting their hard work

  • good point....but i love the halo 3 ar reload =]

  • From my understanding, and info from bungie themselves. They're very impressed with what people can do with their modles. Why do people feel the need to speak for them? If they object, this would've been shut down a long time ago.

  • Because they're keeping it for themselves, not distributing it. They're basically treating the ability to extract Bungie's encrypted animations as something only they can use, which is kind of like claiming Bungie's animations as their own, telling anyone who wants them to "make their own tools," because apparently nobody else is good enough to use it.

Either that or they just want fame amongst the modding community.

  • I do agree with you on the whole asholishniss of their behavior/ this WHOLE situation. But I don't really think they're claming the models as their own, they're claming the EXTRACTOR as they're own. Why they're trying to accomplish something by accomplishing nothing, I have no fucking idea.

  • From what I remember, they're trying to learn more about something, I don't know what. The animations and tags are going to be used in Penguin1862's The Pit. (some number like that) Also, Muki, if this was released, dear lord, do you KNOW how many Blood Gulch 'HALO 3 WEPS OMFG' there would be? It's best to let them keep it to themselves, and have them use it when they see fit. Such as making the best recreation of The Pit in CE.

  • If we released the tools, based on your logic its like us releasing content that isn't ours to begin with, it's bungies. We're not trying to be assholes, it's all about disrupting a balance many of you aren't aware of. Many senior members of the community agree with our decisions, everyone else just wants us to release because they believe the tools are relevant to their mod when they aren't. We set out to make an accurate halo 2 replica, we're developing tools to do so.

  • How about when you all are done with your whole replica thing, you release them, since you will have already accomplished what you're setting out to do?

There's tons of stuff I'm sure ZTeam won't use in their mod, IE Elite animations, Elite bipeds, a bunch of stuff from the campaign, that other users might want to use.

It would benefit alot of people, and give ZTeam an even better name as "the guys who created all these bad ass tools"

And please, explain this "balance" you mentioned.

  • We've internally spoken about releasing a few things when all is said and done. When we're done with CE, maybe we will release all the shit we've done, who knows? The "balance" is between the h2 xbox community and the halo ce community. I'd go in depth but youtube's character restrictions won't allow me to post everything i would like to on the subject. And why wouldn't we use elite animations in our mod? Open sauce allows for many possibilities.

  • Well, that's actually good to hear. That ups my respect a little.

And I forgot about Open Sauce, it's been in development so long it kind of slipped my mind. But I wasn't just referring to the Elite bipeds and animations, but things like the prophets, Gravemine, Sentinels, all that stuff. Someone would probably like to slap those in the environment somewhere as an easter egg or just for the hell of it.

The "balance" I'm still not sure I see, but as you said, YOUTUBE

  • You can't honestly expect us to want to release our tools because some kid out there would like to slap them into some unrelated map as an easter egg, that's exactly one of the reasons why we're not releasing them anytime soon. We never made the tools to earn your respect, we made them to learn more about the blam engine as a hobby and for use in our mod.

  • So, let me try to understand.

What you're telling me is you don't want it released because you all worked really hard on it, you don't want a bunch of kids to use your tools to slap a bunch of Bungie's stuff into their map, and because you all are using it for your own mod?

  • don't twist my words.

  • Ahaha, the funny thing is, I really didn't. I pretty much repeated what you said. :)

"because some kid out there would like to slap them into some unrelated map as an easter egg,"

"We never made the tools to earn your respect, we made them to learn more about the blam engine as a hobby and for use in our mod."

I was just trying to understand. No need to get all defensive.

  • hilarious. I said that because that's where the conversation was going. "because you all worked really hard on it". Why's this need such an explanation? The tools won't be released anytime soon, don't expect to change it in a youtube discussion board.

  • Oh, I'm not expecting them at this point. I just kind of find it a bit sad that this has become such a bigger deal than something as simple as just modding a game. There's people that work hard on mods for other games, IE Ballistic Weapons and Chaos UT for Unreal Tournament 2004, yet all their stuff is extractable, and moddable, and I haven't seen nearly as much drama in those modding communities as I have in the Halo ones. Makes me wonder if open source mods would stop all the drama. ;)

  • 1 modding isnt ever in any sense legal but it happends. game companies support these illegal bits as long as you dont make profit off the content companies like ubisoft, valve, activion were built off modders and developers so quit your blaberghasting and just accept that the extraction is awesome

  • You're wrong for one thing, some game companies like Epic Games and Valve support modding capabilities, and some even allow every bit of the game's code to be modifiable by the user.

  • Modding was actually encouraged by game creators back in the day. Some of the most popular games are mods. Counter-Strike 1.6 is merely a Half Life mod, and likewise, many WW2 mods influenced the Call of Duty series.

However, it's discouraged by the creators, because recently people learned how to mod/hack for their personal gain. Bungie doesn't ban you for having mods, just using them in matchmaking. Microsoft could care less what you do to Halo, as long as you don't gain profit or cheat.

  • The H3 reload animations suck. Bolt should, by a simple "tap", SNAP forward, not get pushed. Bolt should also remain closed when switching magazines w/o emptying the firing chamber. (i.e. switching mags before they're empty)

  • The H3 reload animations suck. (bolt should snap to the front by itself w/ a simple push, and switching magazines w/o emptying the firing chamber should keep the bolt closed...)

  • Nice extraction, would you mind telling me how you did it?

  • Idk why it would be iligal to do that?

form what ive herd people are just using it for halo CE not really anything els

  • There's many things that go along with the word 'legal and illegal.' Pretty much an easy reason to understand why this isn't exactly 'illegal' is because CAD is making no profit, besides knowledge.

  • Read the EULA Microsoft doesn't care if you rip from their games as long as you don't sell the content

  • lol

  • It's actually not entirely just selling, but gaining profit too. I think I could give CAD $5 and it would be illegal.

  • @DarkTraceX Go ahead prove it

  • @CreateImagineGreater You've obviously never played halo 3.

  • @noblegreed lmfao, youre right ive never played i just have my montages on h3 up because ive never played it..

  • @CreateImagineGreater Well if you challenge someone to prove that this is a rip, you must think it's not. Ergo, you've never played Halo 3- because it is a rip.

  • @DarkTraceX How is mapping for Halo CUSTOM EDITION illegal, you fucking idiot? If it was, then there would be no such thing as Halo CE.

  • @DarkTraceX Not illegal. As long as the copied (ported) content is not sold its legal to distribute. And if its private use only, it is legal with no questions asked.

  • That doesnt answer me though. HOW do you rip it (Legally of course).

  • They aren't going to tell people how, or else nothing in Halo CE will be custom.

  • Halo 3 beta. Not retail...

  • My question is....HOW THE HELL DID YOU RIP H3?

  • yes it looks more like the br's cuz of how fast it is the ar's is slower when pulling out the clip

  • lol, he called us cunts

  • Your argument is somewhat outrageous considering CtrlAltDestr0y isn't the only one who extracts models. ICEE, though I somewhat agree on your standpoint... why are you only commenting on Ctrl's video in the first place. There are plenty of extractions all over youtube. Why did you specifically choose this one?

  • I consider them entirely unnecessary polarbear as we've addressed your error in judgement. Thus...shit.

  • I guess I see.

  • Why did he post this video in the first place?.. unless he made the animations

  • I wasn't talking specifically about this video.

  • That makes two of us.

  • Kind of like the one's your giving us at this very moment.

  • You might as well be releasing all those animations you have in your profile, as you've showed them to the public.

  • Nice try, I didn't post it. Tell me though. Why would we not release a halo 2 animation extractor, but go ahead and release one for halo 3? To assume otherwise is just plain retarded.

  • Oh, so you seriously would've thought we were going release it if we didn't explicitly state otherwise? Sorry, but we don't cater to the slow of mind.

  • I'm glad you had enough sense to realize we weren't going to release it. owait...

  • 1.Modding was not invented by the creators. They merely released their content development environment.

2.Injection is irrelevant; Bungie never prohibited the modding of Halo 3, let alone asset injection explicitly. They merely states that mods should stay off file shares.

3.Why does anyone ever bother showing anything to anyone? Would you rather a much more "closed" community than one that is already very much so currently? You might as well shut your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears.

  • Sorry, scratch point 1. I missread what you typed.

  • It's a private tool, I don't see why it matters if we're not releasing it.

  • Oh, so time is a factor now? I trust you will have zero objection to this in a few years time?

  • Halo 1 is no different. Tag forms of assets were released, not actual models or textures. Reverse engineering was required to turn those tags into, for example, the first-person arms that you used to create the animations in your profile. By the same token, reverse engineering was also used to produce the animation in this video. If we went by your idea of piracy, you would have already done it several times.

  • cont.

Besides, who said that this animation was going to be put into another game. This is not a "rip", this is a demonstration of asset extraction. I'm sorry you're too ignorant to tell the difference.

  • You might as well consider halo 1 animation extraction piracy, or model or bitmap extraction. Or anything you used to learn from since when you began to mod. Also, don't give me that piracy bullshit. You can't honestly say you haven't pirated at least one piece of software or other intellectual property in your lifetime.

  • Holy shit, serious fucking business.

  • How is this any different than Halo 2 animation extraction? It's called broadening your horizon, sure he can make animations, now he's gone the extra mile and learned how to program and reverse engineer. Love it or hate it, it's a hobby, not a lifestyle. Get over it.

  • Well, i'm sorry if you have some sort of moral objection, but frankly I could give less a shit.

  • agreed

  • It's called a proof of concept, you idiot.

  • this is totall bs this is the br reload animation and i know it when i see it and dont get me wrong a the animation is good but it isnt from halo 3 , sorry you cant extract from that yet lol

  • Why would we lie?

  • this are totalll bs the halo 3 ar has the same reload animation i know it when i see it and dont get me wrong the animation is the br's but it is from halo 3, because sorry, ctrlaltdestroy has learned how to extract from it yet lol.

  • WHAT! since when have you been able to rip from halo 3?

  • since 4 days ago, when we cared enough to research it.

  • BULL****, if you guys can rip from halo 3, then were is the bitmaps o_0

  • You doing anything with this, or is it just for showing it off to people?

  • ripped from beta or retail?

  • custom made

  • Read the title idiot.

  • I can't I'm blind =D

  • beta

  • thought so retail is heavily encoded

  • No it isn't.

  • Why don't you guys give it to H3MT? Nice work, btw, Zteam!

  • Cad gives us stuff already we don't even want ripped content.

  • yay! new animation! This one actually points to the reticle. 5/5

  • Wow, really nice and accurate model. It's gonna look tight. Hope to see some more in the future.

  • It's Bungie's model...
