I was at this concert & the point of it was bringing people together in 'no man's land' to celebrate the wall that had divided the city for so long having been torn down. It was awesome with people from all nations feeling the love that night. You may pick holes in individual performances, criticise sound quality etc but to do so I believe you miss the point. This was a moment of history & I still have my piece of wall - so chill people & look at the bigger picture :o)
Interesting fact is Mother was performed the night before the concert during a dress rehearsal. Apparently there was a power failure during the concert and Sinead was asked to mime or sing her parts of the song but was offended therefore they added the Dress rehearsal version to the VHS and DVD version
@hunkydorey2 Bryan Adams and The Guitarists from the Scorpions mimed playing the guitar parts but the guitar parts were played by Rick DiFonzo & Snowy White. Van Morison's live version of "Comfortably Numb" was on a Martin Scorsese film called The Departed and was also in HBO's "The Sopranos'" Van Morrison performed "Comfortably Numb" during his 2008 concerts
I'm not a Sinead fan, but she's awesome here. Garth Hudson on accordion and Rick/Levon singing harmonies...I think this is the best realized song in the whole show.
Can't understand why some people only have bad things to say about someone's vision and creativity? If you don't like something, just click on to something else? Usually the person saying how bad something is, might be a jealous that they lack the talent to create something this good? So before you make fun of someones talent, remember that once said you can't take it back and leave yourself open to everyone else to comment about you?
just to clarify, are you talking about Joni or Sinead, because sinead does an astonishing job, but for me its the silly hand jerks and stuff that just get to me about Joni, it just annoys me, there isnt actualy any need for it , know what i mean
@manonthemoon516 i agree, it is Joni Mitchell, she is a great singer, if you youtube her name and see some of her songs youd agree, but for some reason, she just pisses me off here
@hunkydorey2 I was rather blown away...I thought it was amazing...haunting...she did her own thing while not being disrespectful of the original...very memorable...not just a mere cover of the Pink Floyd version.
@manonthemoon516 i agree too. I thing she is turning the song a little bit gospel. What i love in this song is its simplicity and the gospel fillings she adds do not suit.
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon. Best album!!! Waters solo projects are OK and Gilmoures Pink Floyd are great too but they had their best musical moments togheter: Waters, Gilmour,Wright, Mason!!! They completed each other, so much that it scared them and that's what drove them apart!!!
@nicce1982 wrong, you have very little taste in Pink Floyd if you think Dark Side of The Moon is their best album, it's certainly good, but definitely not the best then others they have.
@dreamerschoice he's wrong because he probably listen to The Wall, Dark Side of The Moon and Wish You Were Here the 3 most overrated albums of Pink Floyd although they are awesome don't get me wrong it's just that people don't listen to the early Pink Floyd with Syd Barret and what not. So yeah whatever if it's his opinion then i just have a different one, it kinda saddens me that people don't think the early Pink Floyd isn't their greatest. R.I.P. Syd.
@dreamerschoice See like you have mentioned above, most of them knows only the big hit albums. Only the hard-core fans of Pink Floyd knows and listens to Floyd before David Gilmore. Which is the Sid's time. And not many people listens/knows, even their last album with waters which is " The Final Cut ". To listen to early Floyd and "The Final Cut " you have to love Floyd from your Soul. Therefore I just ignore some of these post as there just not worth it. I read your posts carefully very good.
I can`t stand the band or Van Morrison , most over rated crap ever .

I don´t get it; what's the background shown during "Goodbye Blue Sky" apart from the concert footage and the animation of the movie?
