  • ...i LOVE MASH, i have the whole series on dvd...but after Radar left the show it just didnt feel the same...

  • Despite the quality of this clip I really appreciate you posting these. Thank you I have never seen these before here in NZ!

  • I hear ringing in my ears...

  • Did I just hear dear old Col. Potter say "pulled a boner"? Tee hee hee... Sorry but my audio sucks.

  • this show had soo much potential . im sure if it would have stayed on the other cast mates that didnt already appear on it would have done soo. and we could have seen what happen to bj and hawkeye and trapper and even yes i would have love to seen margret and frank meet and fall in love again and get married oh well i guess we can all just imagine have a good evening all :)

  • "Got off a real corker on her (Mrs. Potter)." What the hell does that mean??????????

  • @jksonny A "corker" is a big surprise or a (happy) practical joke.

  • @14447131 wow what a bad thing to say about any body

  • @myfriendangel1 It is indeed, people like that have such an empty life themselves that they have to lash out to get attention, any form will do for these nutcases.

  • @dasmol i totally agree with you . have a wonderful saturday ..

  • @myfriendangel1 I agree. 14447131 should have kept their douche bag statement to themselves.

  • Have this on a Betamax tape.

  • R.I.P Colonel Potter

    Good bye, farewell, and amen

  • same they canceled this after 2 seasons

  • Great that u uploaded it...buuuutt..... I wonder how u got the toaster to record it ?? Or was it the washing machine ?

  • R.I.P. Harry Morgan.

  • what a supremely clever idea. "after" mash.

  • R.I.P. Harry (AKA Colonel Potter)!

  • Harry Morgan was great I'm only in my teens and i love watching MASH

  • @the1997beast Yeah I grew up on it. After watching all the episodes, a few years passed, then I watched them all OVER AGAIN ! ^^

  • Thank you for this!

  • I wish they would have put these episodes in with the MASH box set...maybe someday.

  • Well Harry thanks for the memories! I remember watching MASH afterschool as a kid! Something about it that makes everything ok!

  • Adios Harry...when my mom was alive you helped us laugh together, thank you.

  • Farewell Harry God be good to you

  • RIP Harry Morgan

  • RIP headphone users

  • @TheMichael408 :DDD PERFECT

  • Nice to finally meet Mildred. He never shut up about her on MASH.

  • Nice trombone playing in the intro!

  • @AJohnnymous yes it was actually based on 'nam but it was too soon after the war and people still had bitter feelings about Vietnam so they changed it to Korea. according to the creators of the show.

  • "I got off a real corker on her..." and ....The army pulled a boner??

    WTF?? lol @2:10-2:38

  • These days doctors are required to have a chaperone when they examine a patient of the opposite sex. My, how times change.

  • I wish this show stayed on the air longer than it did.

You can't get any better than M*A*S*H. It is timeless. It is a feel good comedy that grew into an institution. This show still has people still using it's lines...and some of those people who use them weren't even born when the show ended. That is the kind of influence this show has on the world.

  • OK I understand now. I always thought MASH was supposed to be the Viet Nam war, hence the confusion of post-war being 1953. I wonder how many people in the Korean war were able to wear their hair like the MASH cast members.

  • Spin of shure suck

  • way to loud and distorted

  • 4:25 Apparently it was Tact that seperated the glory that was MASH from the relative obcurity that was AfterMASH.

  • In many ways, this show told a story more important than M*A*S*H did. M*A*S*H was about Doctors in the middle of a war. Aftermash dealt with what happens later, when you return from the war. And you try to get your life back on track, after having been gone for years.

  • @TheMoonknight75 I agree. The last lines in particular are very telling.

"Funny, the word Veteran. It suggests someone who's gone through an experience, one that's all over. For a lot of these people their war goes on every day of their lives."

You see a lot of war shows, not a lot of after war shows. That story is just as important, if not more so, than the former.

  • this was made after the TV show...hence the title AFTER MASH LOL

  • thx for uploading where did you get this? no one wants to release it on dvd, do u have the episode "Trials" with Colonel Flagg?

  • i dont get it was AFTERMASH made b4 or after the *MASHI* tv show?

  • @emymummy after

  • Comment removed

  • @emymummy The title AFTER should give you a clue.

If you actually watched this you would find more clues, such as the opening credit sequence where we see old shots of M*A*S*H members and people holding newspapers with the words "TRUCE SIGNED" on them, and seeing the Colonel write to Klinger (where he states it is Sept. 26th 1953, which is after the war ended) about coming home from the war, along with the flashback of him surprising his wife.

  • This is a good show! Why doesn't anyone rerun it?

  • I've never had a chance to watch this before. Lousy networks buried it.

  • MILDRED!!!!!

  • I grew up with this show. I can distinctly remember when Harry Morgan was introduced and i was so bitter at losing H Blake, i didn't want to like Harry but as we got to know him i found i liked him better than Blake. I thought Harry played his part beautifully. The later MASH with Potter, BJ, Charles was a far better show. Earlier Mash seemed like too much of a nut ball Groucho Max cartoon silly at times. The characters and stories settled down later on and it was better for it.

  • @roquefortfiles This isn't M*A*S*H*.

  • is it me, or is this TOO LOUD AND DISTORTED???

  • @ivegotalongdong Only in the beginning.

  • @ivegotalongdong ya it is

  • @ivegotalongdong Be thankful it's up at all, it's hard to find!

  • @ivegotalongdong juuuuust a LOT!!

  • @ivegotalongdong It is too loud and distorted. I saw this show firstrun.

  • This isn't the best spin-off, but I just love all the characters so much, I don't really mind.

Oh, Klinger, what the heck are you doing in jail?

  • This wasn't a work of art or anything, but is sure was far better than I had expected.

  • damn they made 3 spinoff of M*A*S*H.

    W*A*L*T*E*R

    AfterM*A*S*H

    Trapper John, M.D.

  • Harry Morgan in great book "Charlton Heston:An Incredible Life"!

  • Mulcahy's character being one of the three main ones brought this show an early death! He was way less important on original TV Mash! This show was good but too left-wingish!

  • I am sorry this did not get more of a chance. The MASH universe is eternal and lets face it we learned to love all these people. There will never be another.

  • I was 2 when it started (MASH) and 13 when it ended....I watched it with my gramma, and now I watch it with my granddaughter!!

I have the trivia game, a 4077 IV bottle, and if I could, I would have it on one channel 24/7!!!!

Best show ever made was M*A*S*H...second best was After MASH

  • in retrospect i was 10 when this was on and i really liked it and was hoping the whole cast would reunite in the states after they got home but darn it didnt happen

  • With the exeption of Burns and Blake the entire cast is still alive

  • any1 now how i can get this series, ive got s1-11 of MASH i really want this

  • this is cool!

  • Is it me or M.D. Angelo looks a bit like Henry Blake? At least a smile is very close.

  • @LandryKbb IIRC, Alan also made a guest appearence on an episode of Mike Farrell's short-lived drama series(don't remember the title off hand)in which Mike played a veternarian. Alda also had a recurring role on The West Wing as a presidential candinate.

  • @Captmiloman You're not referring to Providence by any chance, are you?

  • @Captmiloman

    Farrell's show was Providence.

  • I am a hug mash fan but this is a little boring.

  • THANK YOU for uploading this.

  • Someone needs to upload W*A*L*T*E*R!

  • I like how he bullies that woman into taking her dress off.

  • He did make an appearance on AterMASH.

  • There was another spinoff with Radar as a cop in St. Louis. The series was called WALTER, but didn't make it past the pilot. Trapper John MD, of course, followed Trapper later in life. It was made by a different production company than the MASH series, and in court was ruled to be a spinoff of the movie rather than the series.

  • @fjccommish Actually, it did air, but it was ill-timed. It was on the same day as the 1984 DNC, so viewers on one coast got to see it.

  • @StoogeWatcher Yes, but essentially it didn't air because it wasn't shown nationally. The stories from the additional books were far better than what they tried to make in these series. In the books Radar became a full fledged psychic, and used his powers to become a millionaire. He later met a woman who was also a psychic and also rich. They were married.

  • I loved Mash as a teenager, and when I found this I can't stop watching. It brings back so many wonderful memmories. May the greatness of mash never fade.

  • the hospital aint that where hawkey was taken when he had that break down?

  • @tommygrules4life That was in Korea

  • The casting on this show was atrocious, especially the annoying secretary. And how about the old-timer in the elevator? He claims to have been serving under Potter in WWI 35 years earlier, yet looked like he was 80 years old.

  • @racefan1701 People who live hard lives look older, they age more quickly. If someone suffered from mustard gas in WW1 then 35 years later they could look like that.

  • @fjccommish Check out Larry Gelbart's take on this show in Part 5 of his Legends interview on You Tube. He said he had the wrong take on the show completely.

  • @racefan1701 Actually it's in Part 6 of the interview.

  • It is a very rare that a spin offs last to long.

  • @jshkendra but when it happens it's awesome.

    Like The Jeffersons.

Can't help but like both shows.

  • @Jimbothy Other good examples are Maude,Rhoda,Lou Grant,I could go on and on.

  • @jshkendra They should make a spinoff from Radar's future in the novels. The MASH novels followed the characters beyond Korea. Radar became fully telepathic, and used his powers to learn what customers liked as he built an Irish stew business. He eventually found a telepathic woman who liked him for him, rather than other women who were only attracted to him because of the money.

  • @fjccommish Didn't he return on after mash. I missed radar after he left. I heard he was tough to work with. He has a deformed hand he always kept it hidden like in his pocket.

  • @jshkendra Frasier and the Jeffersons are 2 exceptions to that rule.

  • @landrykkb Facts of life and laverne and shirley. After a show ends it is rare that a spin off lasts too long Frasier is that exception. Look at three's a crowd and Joey from Friends.

  • @jshkendra Laverne and Shirly spun off Happy Days (along with Mork & Mindy plus others), The Simpsons is a spin-off from The Tracey Ullman Show, Gomer Pyle USMC spun off Andy Griffith.....well...at least The Simpsons is worth remembering XD

  • @alexp9999 The Simpsons could be on the air another 20 years and never compare to M*A*S*H.As it is,they've already overstayed their welcome, even if they are a merchandise cash cow and have a legion of fans.

  • @landrykkb I believe they jumped the shark ten years ago.

  • @landrykkb : I totally agree! The Simpsons have definatly overstayed its welcome on tv"

  • @landrykkb they aren't meant to compare with MASH. Two completely different types of shows. And yes, 20 years online means something.

  • @auntbecky Of course,I never said that both shows were similar;I was just referring to longevity on the air.

  • @jshkendra The Jeffersons,Maude,Good Times,Rhoda, and Lou Grant are other examples of spin-offs that eventually took on lives of their own, just as equally or even greater than the shows in which they were originated from.Frasier, for example, like you pointed out took on its own life with very few references to Cheers after a while.

  • i could have see this show on for a long time

  • 24 years old, scene every episode of M*A*S*H known to man over three times. Timeless. Awesome!

  • @IFightFoo I think you mean "SEEN" every episode.

  • @indianajoe219 I think you meant to say "...you meant seen", Grammar police; shut up.

  • thease were the good old days

  • Wondered if I would ever be able to see this... thanks! :-)

  • I think we just felt at the time that we were losing our favorite show because mash's time was said to be over and yet here was a mash series... we wanted more mash instead of this. But now, it is neat to look back on. However, its poor success has led to any follow up series, doing poorly, to be known as an "aftermash"

  • I wish they would put this out on dvd it would be a great to own

  • they gotta be shittin us with this, just listen to that theme music =/

nothing like some jazzy "Suicide Is Painless" to get you in the swingin' mood =P

  • Gotta upload more of these After Mash episodes!

  • Poor horny old woman. If he doesn't lay that pipe, I'll be glad to hit the dust off that pssy

  • This is funny. When will the entire series come out on DVD

  • @v19d Hopefully never. This was a train wreck.

  • Why is the audio so quiet?......

  • Thanks for posting

  • if u live in the uk/ireland u can watch it on comedy central at from 6.00pm 2 8.00pm monday 2 friday

  • I used to watch it all the time but I can't remember what channel it was on, does anybody know?

  • It aired on CBS Monday night 9:00 P.M. EST during its first season and Tuesday nights at 8:00 EST during its second season.

  • @mauserman3 It was aired at 8 pm eastern time in the old M*A*S*H time slot.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! It may not be the best series ever made, but I still have wanted to see at least some After MASH for a long time, ever since I found out about it again after becoming a MASH fanatic. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • god im old lol i remember this tv show and mash well year thats how old i was when the mash show ended

  • i can see why it wouldent last long

you can run out of meterial fast

  • it would have made a cool TV movie

    same thing with W*A*L*T*E*R

  • Thanks for posting this! Always wanted to see this! :)

  • Is this series on DVD yet?

  • No it's not. Hopefully it will one day.

  • does anyone know how many after mash shows there were?

  • It was six episodes long.

  • Six episodes long? You didn't know that this show ran for a season and a half?

  • Only six went to air in Australia.

I know. I watched them when they did.

  • There were 30 episodes made. The final one never aired.

  • too bad I liked it not as much as MASH, the twoo were VERY different, AFTERMASH was more of the fifties centered around the comformity era, and MASH was a real CRITIC about SOCIETY, WAR AND EVERYTHING IN GENERAL..

This was really sort of like dealing trying to settle down, people expected to see something like mash, but it wasn't supposed to like it, if only they aired the last episode. Father Mulcahy only reason I am watching this he is really funny but he is so mysterious.

  • It's nice to see old Potter back with Mildred, who we'd only ever seen in a photo on his desk. Kinda cool, but I think America was MASHed out.

  • @SnuffyWuffles I agree.Larry Gelbart was trying to keep M*A*S*H alive instead of just calling a spade a spade and accepting that M*A*S*H is over.

  • wow the intro music is just so wrong. i feel like its going to kick into love boat or something.

  • Forget what I just said! The show DOES Honour the characters!! I agree, I wish they had made more episodes!!!!

  • that would have been cool

  • @rushringsfanatic AfterMASH got cancelled after Season 2.

  • I grew up watching MASH, the show did and still does have a very special place in my heart and always will...but MASH was really Hawkeye's point of view. There would be no MASH with out him. After MASH just doesnt feel right to me. I just re-discovered the show and will give it a chance, but the format is different, and it doesn't feel right without Margeret, Charles or Frank, BJ or Trap, Radar and the rest of the family

  • This was one of my all time favorite shows. I was a big fan of MASH and was so glad they decided to spin off Aftermash. It seemed at the time to be a logical next step. My Father is a Korean war Vet and MASH helped heal some wounds for him. By the 1980's he was spending some time in a VA hospital for various reasons. This was a great show that was not really given a fair chance by the network.

  • I liked the Henry Blake/Trapper episodes the best, but Potter was a good character

  • The best episodes were done in the first three seasons for sure.

  • Yeah. It went from good comedy to dramedy and finally to drama.

  • Trapper and Blake provided great comedy, BJ and Potter provided comedy but with more serious tone and they took that to take advantage of it by making more critique.

  • @schroeder1927 I like the Potter / BJ / Charles episodes the best.

  • @schroeder1927 They were all great!

  • yeah im not so into this. and i LOVE M*A*S*H

  • Omigosh! Never knew this came out! So relevant. I've worked with vets and its touching to hear at that time that even vets from the Spanish-American and Civil War were being treated at the VA. They're all gone now, of course. We only have the WWII vets left. We need to get their personal accounts for posterity before they all fade away. Thanks loads for sharing :)

  • we still have one WWI vet still Alive Frank Buckles currently residing West Virginia

  • This probably would have ended up better then most shows on TV today.

  • we didnt lose korea and more than we lost vietnam because we weren't there to try to win! we did our jobs and prevented the take over of both sk and sv and have nothing to be ashamed over with those wars.

  • well said

  • Harry Morgan featured in great new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible Life: Revised Edition)! The bio is featured at amazon!

  • thanks for the upload! but man, what was gelbart thinking when he cranked out this turkey?

  • he was thinking of the legions of mash fans still pining for the show and the line of mash books that had started to come out.

  • where did you find this? and, do you know where to find the pilot episode W*A*L*T*E*R?

  • search "walter pilot mash" here on youtube and the pilot comes up

  • happy 94th birthday, mr harry morgan

  • @baddmanaz rip mr harry morgan

  • i really think this was a far better show than they gave it credit for, but MASH was so outstanding that anything else had to have considered second rate. Given that the show was only on for a short time, I imagine that if it would have stayed on for a couple of years you would have seen all of the former MASH cast at one time or another.

  • true

  • @Quixote010 I honestly thought it was too soon for this show, only 1 year after M*A*S*H aired its final episode.Even as it was,all the cast members wanted to finish off the series after the 10th season, but the producers and writers were insistent on sending it off with a bang.

  • I watched this when it originally aired. Too bad they didn't have any other M*A*S*H cast members(besides Gary Burghoff) appear. I heard Alan Alda was offered a spin-off, but turned it down. That would've been interesting.

  • @Captmiloman I don't blame Alan Alda for turning down a spin-off because he already had been typecasted as it was.As you may recall.he appeared on ER as what else but a doctor or surgeon in at least 1 episode during the 90's.

  • I finally get to see the show. It's pretty good.

  • What the hell happened to all of the other episodes??? They were on here a few days ago!!!
