nice guitar, nice amp. however if you are buying a small amp vox practice amps have better tone quality than marshalls especially if the marshall is an mg series
@browncitycrew As it came out in the mid-90ies it was about 1oo Euro. So as the uploader said it was one of the cheapest Amps. Let`s say the best of the cheapest. :-)
Kind of sounds like a Gibson in the background, and a chainsaw next to the camera, the clean channel was pretty blah though, my problem with the cheap amps is they have electronics you wouldn't even use in a cordless telephone......but it's all a matter of your own opinion....
Yes - I have the same amp, (Made in UK)it's more than enough for practice alone in my room, and the sound is very good...fro mmy MIJ '62 reissue Strat '
On clean setting I also use it wit Digitech JHE...The contour setting is very effective into changing the overall tone.
I have the exact same amp! It's the first amp I purcased when I started playing the electric guitar(1998). Since then, I always go back to it. I had an Orange Ad30, I now have a Peavey classic, but always go back to this...For bedroom playing, of course. But I like the sound so much! I don't know if I've just got used ti it, but I think it does have a great sound. And if my mind weren't so stuck with tube amp marketing, I would be playing with VS65r for band levels (I also like it very much)...
@pacingBlue Totally agree. Since I`m using a bb preamp in front of it, i play nothing else. I even put down my friend`s brand new Marshall Class 5 Tube amp. I must be a weirdo. But I like the crunchy sound the most, which the uploader avoided, that would be gain 1 fully open, gain 2 about a half. This kind of thing...
valvestates are good but it's better for them to have a good pickups in guitar. Then they sounds better like on this video :] a huge difference between my stock epiphone pickups in les paul standard ...:]
I picked one up tonight from USA pawn shop, reduced from $100USD to $60 dollars. I am not happy with it since it's no improvement over the 10MG I have already, which is smaller and more CRUNCH with less control. The countour is good, bass, contour, and treble for tone, Master, Reverb far right, and two gain controls on the far left. Which you don't show. The two gains I had MAXED to get decent distortion. Not good from a Marshall that's so weak really
@Danielperezguitar You pay more for the "REVERB" feature, which the MG10 lacks, but I don't miss reverb, I prefer digital delay or flanger effects, Wah Wah. This amp works for SMALL gain needs and clean tone, and for GAIN, it's getting best results from ACTIVE pickups that have their own pre-amp boost before the amp stage in the backline!
does it just sound to me like it got tubes? or is the little white piece of plastic playing mind games with me? or could it be the sick looking sunburst les paul?
I've got this amp, with an ESP Ltd EC-100QM and I cannot make it sound nice whatsoever. It sounds like a strangled crocodile. I wouldnt have thought it to be the guitar. Any suggestions? Thanks.
@20vtrueno It's just not a good Marshall, best bet is always heads and cabs, but you can get good tube preamps like Digitech's Twin Tube rack from the 1990s
@20vtrueno Ha, ha, that`s good! It REALLY sounds like a strangled crocodile, let`s put a detail on it: like a muddy strangled crocodile. :-) And that`s the exact thing for me doing bluesy things or early metal stuff like the marshall sound captured on the first Judas Priest records. I have to admit, if you need more gain, you`re in trouble with this amp, also on the opposite if you wanna play it clean.
that looks dead up like my rogue cG 20r amp. and sounds similar to it too, but there isn't an fx slot but there is 2 plug ins for 2 guitars but the last time i did that it sounded terrible
@jacqueslaurent what about a really great guitar, and i mean really really amazing guitar, and play with the worst amp in the world and still get a good tone?
With guitars you really can't have one or the other. Its best to match your instruments with devices of similar quality. You can get a decent guitar and put really nice pickups on it and it will sound much better than how it came it came stock.
The better of the two evils would be a nice guitar with a cheap amp. Although the amp wouldn't do it that much justice..it'd be ok I guess. However, a cheap guitar with an amazing amp will only make you realize how bad the guitar sounds
haha just cause its a marshall doesnt mean it will sound good, in my opinion the only marshalls worth buying are the ones that cost $1000+ anything less than that look into a different brand.
hey man what is a yamaha Pocketrak CX? and btw..you should get a sponsor! youre great! i've seen guys not so good that have good sponsors like Dean Markley!
Of course, I'll lend them my Gibsons to her when she grow up and she can understand what Gibson means. My 6 year old son plays a mini size Les Paul made by GrassRoots, that is a brand for beginners of ESP. That's very cute guitar.
please read my description before you make some comment. DO NOT COMPARE THIS WITH SOME TUBE AMP. If you can get exact the same tone as tube amp with solid state, no one use tube amp. Comparing this with full tube amp is non sense. Please read my description and understand why I made this video. There are lot of people who want to buy tube amps but there are some people who cannot do it. This is for them. Thanks, friends.
well..you can't compare it to a tube amp but i think its pretty good! it can be loud..in fact it looses distorcion when its in a low volume..but bisedes that i would recomend it!
The guitar is also important. But I think too many people think about guitar itself or pickups but, guitar is half, and another half is the amp. Amp is not just a speaker that makes the sound louder. It's a kind of musical instrument and person who can not understand that will never get better tone forever.
Yeah I agree, I would say it's 50/50 for the guitar and amp. I think sometimes people think the amp does a lot more then the guitar, but I think it's about even.
it's true that you can say i don't know how to get that tone because different rooms have different acoustics causing the sound waves to bounce off differently.. where you stand or record can also make a big difference. so.. there's no way you can get ane xact tone
nice sound i gotta a MG100FX i cant turn the volume up past a quarter of the way in my house. im 13 so my parents get mad wen i go n ther with my les paul and crank out to som GNR espicially locomotive i luv playn that song
locimotive is a kick ass song and GNR is my favorite band. play that amp as loud as you can and who gives a fuck what your parents think im 14 and i personally dont give a fuck if i get in trouble or not.
