I'm thinking they should have stuck with the original plan to make Shane and The Tribe werewolves. Also, they shouldn't have ripped off so much dialog/scenes from the original. It was good in the original because it *was* original at the time.
The trailer alone was an indicator that whoever made this completely missed what made the original so potent it didn't even need a sequel, let alone one that spoils its name!

They turned a good possible sequel into a typical cheap gore movie, when you have a huge hit like the Lost Boys and then the following movies go straight to video, you have an idiot behind the scenes somewhere, they don't even know how to make good horror anymore, its just cheap gore and pass it off as horror, if the movie just sickens you, your not watching a real horror movie.
The Lost Boys was only really part horror really but it was awesome!

It seems like the first one. Having the bad boy adrenaline fueled bad boys who are little pricks and the same old problem of family turning into a vampire. I liked this movie, but considering how good the first one was, they could have done so much more with this movie.. To be honest I was a bit disappointed.

If your not going to do big, then you have to do mini series. You can't buy champagne on a beer budget. So if you couldnt do a great Lost Boys part 2, then my suggestion of the mini series was the perfect option. The public doesn't want to see cheap re-makes. Thats why your movie failed. @tarathetarantula , it depends on the movie...yes this movie wasn't in the theaters. But I still enjoyed it....and not all direct to DVD home videos are bad...I've seen many direct to DVD home movies that were great. some times the smaller indy move studios make better movies then the big studios. For Example "Full Moon" Home videos has made quite a few good movies..
I just thought of this...This could have been called "The Lost Boys: The Next Lost Generation" ....yeah I'm genius! Note to self: move to hollywood, put these ideas to good use.
what they should have done was made this like a TV movie, a 3 or 4 part mini series. Sort of like they did with the Sara Conner Chronicles, which was just an extention of the movie. This would have made a good mini series and probably would have been quite popular, considering how in vogue vampires are right now (Twilight, Vampire Chronicles). So if any Hollywood Mogules need some more advice on how to market something hit me up! LOL

@ MonaeJohnson , Corey Haims wasn't in the film itself unfortunately. he did tape stuff for the movie but it was cut out. they instead used it as deleted scenes on the DVD. 3 scenes. one was show during the ending credits. and Alt endings 1 and 2 both were same scene but one was slightly longer.

How would you know what a vampire is supposed ot look like? Even though this isn't the original Lost Boys, it's still original. Just because it's not the way Twilight portrayed vampires, (not dogging Twilight BTW) doesn't mean that it's not good. This was one of the first successful vampire movies made; it's a classic. That's one of the things I hate about modern day society; things get old too fast. Anyway, dont judge something because it's not the way you think it should be.

Not quite. Shane was the sole survior of the beach feeding in part one where they showed their fang skills to Micheal and David sired him as insurance as he wasnt 100% sure Micheal would cut it and he saw greater protential in Shane.
Cmon they had the odds stacked agasint them from the very start trying to make a sequel that could be watchable hence the delays for this sequel. They really should had made a direct sequel with the adult versions of the frog brothers and allowed David back as the antlers missed his heart and he takes vengenge on those responsible plus a linking for Shane based off davids memory and make the tribe part 3
this was so much better than the original, i think. seriously, a kid seeing his fading reflection or a group of really funny dudes? the original seems so dated (old) compared to this one.
All 3 are really good! The fist will always be the best though! RIP Corey Haim!

I liked this movie, but considering how good the first one was, they could have done so much more with this movie.. To be honest I was a bit disappointed.

One more thing, this movie didn't have the big movie feel the origninal one had. So to all the hollywood moguls reading this. I have one thing to say: GO BIG OR GO HOME! If your not going to do big, then you have to do mini series. You can't buy champagne on a beer budget. So if you couldnt do a great Lost Boys part 2, then my suggestion of the mini series was the perfect option. The public doesn't want to see cheap re-makes. Thats why your movie failed. Again, you need advice hit me up!

@tarathetarantula , it depends on the movie...yes this movie wasn't in the theaters. But I still enjoyed it....and not all direct to DVD home videos are bad...I've seen many direct to DVD home movies that were great. some times the smaller indy move studios make better movies then the big studios. For Example "Full Moon" Home videos has made quite a few good movies..

what they should have done was made this like a TV movie, a 3 or 4 part mini series. Sort of like they did with the Sara Conner Chronicles, which was just an extention of the movie. This would have made a good mini series and probably would have been quite popular, considering how in vogue vampires are right now (Twilight, Vampire Chronicles). So if any Hollywood Mogules need some more advice on how to market something hit me up! LOL

@ MonaeJohnson , Corey Haims wasn't in the film itself unfortunately. he did tape stuff for the movie but it was cut out. they instead used it as deleted scenes on the DVD. 3 scenes. one was show during the ending credits. and Alt endings 1 and 2 both were same scene but one was slightly longer.

I love Vampires, but in this movie they look like pigs , why do they have to have a deformed face and shit a vampire are just supposed to have different eyes and fangs like mick out of moonlight i like them better that way, i hate the way in vampire movies like this one they have all weird faces and they look ntn like vampires!

How would you know what a vampire is supposed ot look like? Even though this isn't the original Lost Boys, it's still original. Just because it's not the way Twilight portrayed vampires, (not dogging Twilight BTW) doesn't mean that it's not good. This was one of the first successful vampire movies made; it's a classic. That's one of the things I hate about modern day society; things get old too fast. Anyway, dont judge something because it's not the way you think it should be.

Not quite. Shane was the sole survior of the beach feeding in part one where they showed their fang skills to Micheal and David sired him as insurance as he wasnt 100% sure Micheal would cut it and he saw greater protential in Shane.

Cmon they had the odds stacked agasint them from the very start trying to make a sequel that could be watchable hence the delays for this sequel. They really should had made a direct sequel with the adult versions of the frog brothers and allowed David back as the antlers missed his heart and he takes vengenge on those responsible plus a linking for Shane based off davids memory and make the tribe part 3
