After all if every individual has the right to use their bodies and learn from their mistakes then state imposed retrictions like ages of consent etc. are purely arbitrary limitations which don't work anyway and criminalise those they seek to protect.
So you can hine and squirm for all you want but you have all got into a car with no brakes and are heading towards a cliff edge. Enjoy the ride. Glad I bailed out a few miles back.
Mmm. Run it by me again. "Children have the right to choose to have sex with adults."
Of course, despite all the pseudo intellectual claptrap, Libertarianism is about empowering drug dealers and paedophiles. It is about ensuring that profits are generated at the expense of humanity.
"Consensual Paedophilia" is the logical destination your line of reasoning leads to whether you like it or not.
Actually, no libertarianism's not about that. Drug prohibition is what empowers drug dealers. As for pedophilia, I don't think many libertarians agree on that part. I, and others, believe children don't have the capacity to consent and therefore pedophilia is coercion, which is against libertarianism.
Well by that distorted piece of logic, prohibition also empowers child pornographers which is Ruwart's stated position. "When yiou cxriminalise child pornography, the prices rise and provide an incentive for abusers."
It is funny that although Libbys lie and cheat their way out of their philosophy's utlimate logical support for consensual paedophilia, they believe that children can freely consent to being bought up by smackheads. Major FAIL!!
It's not distorted logic. It's the way things work in the real world, and it's not necessarily the case in child pornography. It depends on what's called in economics the "elasticity" of demand...meaning how price-sensitive customers are. In drugs, demand is highly inelastic. In things like computers and TVs, demand is elastic.
Furthermore, the core principle of libertarianism is the Non-Aggression Principle, which states you can't use coercion unless defending legitimately owned property
Indeed and in her apparent support for decriminalising child pornography Ruwart argued (as does Alfred Kinsey) that all forms of coercion should be dealt with as in any other assault case.
So are you saying that prohibition does not have a knock on effect on prices when it comes to child porn? Ruwart argues that it makes prices high enough to encourage abusers. Likewise pro-druggies argue that legalisation would mean lower prices and less crime as a result. Seems fairly basic logic to me.
Legalization of drugs would mean lower prices because it would increase the supply, but it would also mean less violence due to it being legal just as they were before. However, they're illegal status actually increase profit because the demand for them is inelastic
For child pornography, i don't know the technical details. It might have inelastic demand or it might have elastic demand...if it's elastic, then making it illegal means lower profit in that industry and thus less incentive, not more
this includes self-defense and defense of an innocent person because you own your own body. And as I stated before, children don't have the capacity to consent and thus are being coerced. This depends on whether or not you believe children have the capacity to consent, but this isn't a problem with libertarianism. It's a problem with the concept of the age of consent because we can never know the exact age someone has the capacity to consent.
If you believe kids have the capacity to consent, then yes they have that right. If you don't believe they have the capacity to consent, then they can't engage in such activity. Personally, I don't think they have the capacity to consent, same as I don't think a person with Alzheimer's has the capacity to consent to sell their house for a dollar or something like that.
Get past this. Talk about the issues. Make more of these videos. Tell me about foriegn policy. Talk to me about the constitution and the role of the President. Tell me what made America great. Tell me about the goodness in this country. Tell me there are two roads to choose from.Warn me of the dangers of the road to serfdom. Remind me of what the Federal government is, and is not, permitted to do. Then open up my imagination to a promising future in liberty. Dr Paul has me addicted to it.
Liberty has both the practical and moral high ground. Liberty is the compassionate choice. Liberty is the tolerant choice. Liberty is the smart choice. Liberty is the one thing that you simply cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others.

But these same children have the right to consent to being bought up by smackheads? Please elaborate.
