these transactions were amazing. The Mets bullpenlast year really struggled and maybe these guys can help get them back on track. Also with as many blown saves they had last year K-Rod really helps
I must say that JJ Putz has not done a great job for us lately, His last two outings on Sunday and Monday have been ATROCIUS!! The way he's pitching I would have prefered Aaron Heilman over putz. I think they make Stokes the 6th inning guy, Green in the 7th, Bobby Parnell in the 8th, and then K-rod in the 9th, and Putz as the mop up guy. Plus when Wagner returns in August, they can use him in the 7th inning. What are your thoughts on that?

Yes, the Hudson deal was great. Now, instead of an aging power-hitting clubhouse cancer, the Dodgers have a good overall hitter who can run very well and is one of the best defensive second basemen in the game. Kent was a liability and bad at his best in the field. Sure, he made some good plays, but Hudson is ridiculously good compared to Kent. I certainly won't miss his mouth or his ego either.

Billy Wagner is the most dominant left-handed closer of all-time. It's unfortunate that the Mets got him at the tail-end of his career when he's constantly injured. Rodriguez walks a ton of guys, constantly has a high WHIP, blows a lot of saves, can't pitch more than an inning at a time (Rivera regulary pitches in situations that require more than four outs), gives up a lot of home runs, had a GREAT defense behind him (Rivera has really never had THAT great of a defense), and I could go on...and on...and on...
How is K-Rod overrated? Well he walks way too many hitters, he is like a rollercoaster he has to make things interesting before getting the save. The Mets should be use to that though with Billy Wagner. It's mindboggling how the Mets have overrated closer after overrated closer. No you just said K-Rod is better then Mo which simply isn't true and I've already proven that it's not true. My garbage overrated team? Hmm seems to me that the Mets choked there way out of the playoffs 2 years in a row.

I must say that JJ Putz has not done a great job for us lately, His last two outings on Sunday and Monday have been ATROCIUS!! The way he's pitching I would have prefered Aaron Heilman over putz. I think they make Stokes the 6th inning guy, Green in the 7th, Bobby Parnell in the 8th, and then K-rod in the 9th, and Putz as the mop up guy. Plus when Wagner returns in August, they can use him in the 7th inning. What are your thoughts on that?

Yeah...I still don't understand why he just broke down after the all-star break. Unfortunately, I look at him the same way I look at Gary Sheffield or Barry Bonds. Yes, they can help your team quite a bit, but they are as close to a clubhouse-cancer as you can possibly get. Wagner constantly blamed his teammates in Philly and thought he was better than everyone else. That being said, it's said that his ability is overshadowed by his injuries and his very large mouth.

He's not going to be cool with riding the bench for very long. He tried hard as he could to destory Torre's reputation long after his final game under Torre, and the two sources he gave turned out to not back him up at all. I remember Wagner's comments there too. Although, I definitely agree with Wagner's point, it was very immature of him to point out Perez and the Carlos'. Just be happy you don't have Brett Myers...

Well...I actually did like Keith too, because he revoltionized the way first base is played defensively. No, for quite some time, I idolized the Doctor. But, Jesus Christ, I think just about everyone did, considering everywhere you looked in New York there were posters, murals, magazine covers, everything that he was on. When I came here, he was the greatest thing to ever happen to baseball. It's unfortunate how his life and his career panned out in the later years. He's doing well now though.

Manny is a consistent .310, 30 home run, 140 RBI guy, and as long as he performs, I love him. Joe Torre is a proven winner, which is a whole hell of a lot more than I can say for damn near every manager the Dodgers have had since LaSorda left. I am most worried about the following:
1. Whether or not Clayton Kershaw realizes how dominant he can be.
2. Whether or not that good-for-nothing Jason Schmidt ever gets healthy.
3. If Rafael Furcal comes back completely healthy.
4. Broxton.

Losing Derek Lowe may end up hurting, but letting Brad Penny go does not hurt us at all. He's had one great season out of all his years in the majors, and he has a history of injury problems and inconsistency. I don't want Pedro on the Dodgers. I don't want him or his 68 earned runs in 109 innings anywhere near the Dodgers. He's so damn stubborn, he can't figure out that he's not the dominant force he was eight years ago. Yes, the Hudson deal was great. Now, instead of an aging power-hitting clubhouse cancer, the Dodgers have a good overall hitter who can run very well and is one of the best defensive second basemen in the game. Kent was a liability and bad at his best in the field. Sure, he made some good plays, but Hudson is ridiculously good compared to Kent. I certainly won't miss his mouth or his ego either.

Billy Wagner is the most dominant left-handed closer of all-time. It's unfortunate that the Mets got him at the tail-end of his career when he's constantly injured. I still don't understand why K-Rod is better than the "modern-day" Rivera. Rivera beat him in nearly every stat last year except for saves, and he did it while pitching more than three-outs. Until Rodriguez posts remarkable stats like Rivera has, he can't be compared to him, modern-day or not.

What stats? The stats I posted proved that Ramirez is better, so unless you're going by fielding percentage and errors, two EXTREMELY misleading stats, you're lying through your teeth. Go ahead, tell me what stats prove that I'm wrong. The stats that I posted are the two most important defensive stats possible. Actually, I'm quite content with Jon Broxton. I wouldn't mind having Rodriguez on my team, but I'm definetly not jealous of the Mets. I never said Hanley was a good fielder. The Mets won Game 7 because of A.) the momentum they recieved from the mistake made by McNamara, and B.) Calvin Schiraldi choked. If the Red Sox had a more experience manager, and a first baseman with good knees, the Red Sox could've easily won.

Oh really? Well, Joe Nathan has only been a closer for four seasons and since he's been in Minnesota, his ERA is under 2.00. Joakim Soria had a great year in his rookie year and a season that was three times better than Rodriguez's.
Soria had a lower ERA, a much lower WHIP, fewer blown saves, fewer walks, AND he played for an abysmal team.

Jose Reyes is TERRIBLE defensively. TERRIBLE. Hanley Ramirez is about five times better than Jose Reyes. Jimmy Rollins is probably four times better than Reyes. And no, you stupid fuck, you waited until AFTER I posted to say that you were asking the other guy.

Dude, people were calling Santana the best pitcher in baseball before he came to the Mets. He was a better pitcher when he was with the Twins. Ummm...hmm, when was the last time Rodriguez did something good in the postseason? He had an ERA of 54.00 and an ERA near 8.00 in the last two playoff series' against the Red Sox. In 2004, he lost two of the three games played. Rivera's postseason ERA is the lowest in Major League history. Rodriguez didn't even win the Series for the Angels in 2002.

Yeah, followed by consecutive seasons of collapsing at the end of the year. Yes, this is definetly the Mets' time now! You have obviously never heard of Casey Stengel...or Joe McCarthy...or Billy Martin...Derek Jeter is twice the hitter that Jose Reyes is. And he's clutch and mature. Unlike Reyes, who throws fits like a little baby. The media isn't confusing anyone. Anyone that doesn't actually have a biased point of view would realize that Jeter is a much better player.

Just because Torre took the Yankees to the playoffs for 12 straight years doesn't make him their best manager in their history. Have you never heard of Miller Huggins, Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel, Billy Martin. It's not like the Yankees have only been good a few times in the last 90 years, they have won the most titles in professional sports.

Rodriguez walks a ton of guys, constantly has a high WHIP, blows a lot of saves, can't pitch more than an inning at a time (Rivera regulary pitches in situations that require more than four outs), gives up a lot of home runs, had a GREAT defense behind him (Rivera has really never had THAT great of a defense), and I could go on...and on...and on...

How is K-Rod overrated? Well he walks way too many hitters, he is like a rollercoaster he has to make things interesting before getting the save. The Mets should be use to that though with Billy Wagner. It's mindboggling how the Mets have overrated closer after overrated closer. No you just said K-Rod is better then Mo which simply isn't true and I've already proven that it's not true. My garbage overrated team? Hmm seems to me that the Mets choked there way out of the playoffs 2 years in a row.
