A true masterpiece never to have been surpassed by any of their future efforts. Here they were sincere, heartfelt. The Queen is Dead had some good tracks, but not the thematic drive, romantic lyrical beauty and musical composition reflecting the lyrics perfectly of this record. It all went to Morrissey's head after Meat is Murder. Post-Smiths all sounds like music and lyrics written separately, neither considering the other. But this record? Pure beauty. Now, let us resume our self-pity.
