@rockyflatsgear actually from what ive seen this method is not forced, its an alternative to get though security. the whole purpose is to get people though security the fastest yet safest way possible. so instead of 2 means of screening, there are 3 (official) methods.

Flying must not be safe especially if they want to see me naked. Scan or pat down, I'm not feeling either. Surely they could come up with something better than this. I am very concerned about the naked body scanners. My concern is not so much about the naked pictures (which is bad enough) but it's more about cancer risk. My father is an MD and any doctor will tell you that frequent exposures to radiation will for sure cause cancer within a few years. I am terrified about the scanners because they are rolling them all over and I have to travel a lot. This sucks!

@rockyflatsgear actually from what ive seen this method is not forced, its an alternative to get though security. the whole purpose is to get people though security the fastest yet safest way possible. so instead of 2 means of screening, there are 3 (official) methods.

Now some airports such as El Paso Texas have started mandatory naked scans few weeks back . Search “MANDATORY airport scan El Paso” Frog in the pot, method. Trust TSA/DHS trust the FDA to look out for ya? Have a great day!

I am very concerned about the naked body scanners. My concern is not so much about the naked pictures (which is bad enough) but it's more about cancer risk. My father is an MD and any doctor will tell you that frequent exposures to radiation will for sure cause cancer within a few years. I am terrified about the scanners because they are rolling them all over and I have to travel a lot. This sucks!

Therefore nullifying their potential "security measures". heat sensors would be the best option for security screeners combined with x-rays and in some instances profiling and further investigation by pat downs to those that are suspected. and yes, there is a comparison to winning the lotto and having your plan hijacked. the chances are just slim. if the federal government truly intends on protecting the people from potentaial terrorist they need to first start protecting the boarders.

this is isnt right,,, ppl wake up,,, simple minded ppl are all over and majority of americans are close minded and very quick to accept anything in dramatic times,,, the us government really knows how to frighten its own ppl by staging terrorist attacks so that they(us government) can get away by taking ppls rights away step by step,,, ppl should refuse to go through these machines,, and trust me you are safe from terrorists on planes only if ur leaders want u to be!

Don't you people see what that are doing?? They are slowly taking away your rights. Are you telling me they just let this guy on an airplane with no passport a one way ticket and had a bomb on him?? After the so called terrorists on 9/11 commit their acts, this is what happens? It's lies, they did this to implement what they want to do. I think the "naked scanner" is a very smart thing to put up. It could save many lives. I am surprised at the negative feedback on this one, when all they are trying to do is keep everyone safe. Some people are probably more relieved knowing that the planes are going to be that much safe. And it's not to be perverted, as you could hear in the interview, it is going to be the same sex doing the scanning. (Women scanning women and men scanning men)
