i wear these for my part-time job at a adventure n climbing center. so i sometimes climb in them when i dont want to go through the trouble of getting my la sportiva miura n solutions. The grip at the back may be intended for easy heel hook on jugs, but since the shoes arent as tight as climbing shoes, its a little insecure..
easy way to solve the shock absorbtion problem, put a spenco polysorb insole in it, they make a huge difference an ill be puttin up a reveiw of them soon so check my channel every so often if ur intrested.
I got these shoes, but don't do freerunning. Bet they are nice for walking on mountains on my way to boulders, but I'm also looking forward to check out how good they are at rock climbing though! are you doing any rockclimbing?
Used them all summer. For tricky and steep approaches they are BEYOND! They have an amazing grip and super friction. But if you're going for longer walks, 1 hour + I would reccomend to use other more comfy shoes. They work pretty well on "buildering" but it is not a climbing shoe =P

you might know that it is freerunners, but there are some people who feel daescent provides more comfortable grip etc

This has probably been posted already, but the reason for the grip on the back is that rock climbers do "heel hooks" which obviously use the heel.
