@umdoze heated it up with both the compression and friction of twisting it. Then popped the cap by pushing it up with his thumb while twisting it off at the same time. The pressure built up inside from the heat helps with the effect. SCIENCE IS COOL! Still impressive as hell, I understand the physics but can't pull it off :)
My Muay Thai coach is a former world champion, trained under Noguchi. He trained for years with Anderson before going all over the world. He said that since then, he still hasn't seen someone with the natural abilities of Anderson. That doesn't mean that he could cross right over into K-1, but it wouldn't take long I'm sure to prepare him for that competition.
now when they said heavy bag do they mean the ones i imagine and worked with that were filled with packed sand? it looked like a regular bag. but over all it was good. im very against high kicks tho. its ok for the ring and going for that k.o. but street wise you gotta change up allot. most of it is for defense, for street go more for aggression. watch liethwei fights to see the aggression im talking about. good stuff to watch if you like all of this. less regulations and more traditional.
Nice kicks , not to argue with anyone on youtube about this but why is this generation seem so big on kicking, its been around for ever but seems that since UFC people down the non kickers. From expericence ive grabed a lot of my friends really good solid kicks and eather took them down or blocked them.Ive even grabed there leg and if anything could hit them in the sack.Im not a big fan of kicking even it can fuck you up im more of a wrestler and boxer and belive in that styel for me(short limbs)
@shampoo02 In MMA I think it's gd 2 at the very least have gd leg kicks. Once u get the legs tired and hurting it takes away the guy's mobility then u dnt have 2 worry so much about being taken down or their sprawl won't b that great. For sure tho unless ur great at kicking I wud much sooner use punches 2 go 4 the knockout.
@shampoo02-Personally I prefer to fight with kicks on the outside and if anyone comes in with punches and tries to close the range, I just try to close the range even further by bridging off their punches and throwing knees, elbows, or controlling them in the clinching range. Thai's have always had excellent kicks and we are just now starting to understand their effectiveness by incorporating it into our striking arts.
Am I the only disturbed how that pole is so close to the bag, its like nails on the chalkboard to me, what if you kick that shit. I guess he would just kick right through it lol but my shin would shatter.
these thai dudes keep amazing me with their thaibox, eventho it is evident that they are the best, they fucking learned to kick first b4 they cud walk :D
@TheDeak1 My favorite fights are K1 fights I loved mirko and fedor. It's with there names mentioned I point out that once these top contenders lost big time once they entered the ufc, probably just because of age but in fedors case I just don't understand. Maybe you could give me an example as to what K-1 fighter would give, or destroy anderson, as I am very interested in studying their movements and training. Everyone is entitled to their opinion however =)
haha that bottle trick was like the thing to do in grade school like 10 years ago haha. good times good times.
question, when doing the round kick is it better to kick the bag while it's at the top of its swing or on its way down? I've always wondered...I imagine the downward swing is just too much on your shin, but I could be wrong...
@nizepart0519 QUOTE: Fighters Jon Fitch, Diego Sanchez, Jorge Gurgel & Josh Koscheck were blown away by Silva & said his pound-for-pound reputation was deserved. Josh Koscheck & I shared a training room with him before the fight, said Fitch, Watching him hit the (focus) mitts, Ive never seen anyone, including pro boxers, with so much agility and hit with so much power. Koscheck said: Hes a bad dude. I dont want to fight him. Anderson deserves respect and I'm sure he kicks like this too
"average" compared to what? anderson has great kicks, great hands, great knees, great elbows, and a great clinch. stick anderson silva with most of the top contenders in k-1 and he would beat them.
@Drewski1316 That's retarded. The dude brought up Anderson as if to say pffft, Silva can't do that and I'm basically calling BS on that because the guys that train with Muay Thai champions & train & fight with THE BEST fighters in the world like GSP, Fitch, Swick, Sanchez, Kos, Huerta etc are saying stuff like that about Anderson. That means nothing to you? You are suggesting the fighters don't know what they are talking about? Or don't train with the best MT fighters in the world? Silva Hater.

andersons striking is definatley k-1 level and even farther than that. he has to worry about takedowns while being an amazing striker.
HewettPower 6 months ago
@HewettPower Feel free to assume much. He has very few kb matches and that wasn't against top 10 kickboxers.
