  • can somone tell me are the highway 1 strats a classic strat pickup sound

  • Hank Marvin did this one, and he overused the whammy bar! When Dick Dale did this tune, he hit the top. He broke off the whammy bar, and never replaced it.

  • brilliant - love it!

  • surf music =D

  • I want a red one, is it uncommon? I can only find black or sunburst

  • loll

  • great sound dude

  • Could u give me your Me 50 settings, your sound is way better then mine :(

  • Try get abit more string bends in the song. Great Cover

  • Great playing!!! Hey, how does one grow fingers as long as yours?

  • lol

  • does the finish begin to wear on these more easily than on am.standards? i really hpe so =]

  • @theboywhocantollie Yes it does :)

  • gmlasam which highway one strat did you end up buying ? wine red or the honey one?

  • I have the three tone sunburst. Great guitar.

  • Great playing!! Nice guitar. I'm about to buy another Highway One strat, but can't decide on which color. I'm debating over the wine red, like yours, or a Honey Blond with maple fingerboard. I already have a sunburst with rosewood highway one strat.

  • This red color is nice, because it gets "vintage" really quickly.

  • yea??? So the nitro finish around where your right forearm rest is showing wear, bare wood almost showing through?

  • That is a great sounding strat. I've also have a Highway One Strat, but I am one of those that likes to Hot Rod, so I'm making some changes to it. I might be the first to really understand what is meant by 'rolling off the highs without adding bass".

  • nice tone

  • i have a big problem , i bought a fender stratocaster highway one and i have real problems with tuning ! i cant do bends or use the whammy bar ! is every highway one like this?

  • Some are.. you should take it to a guitartech person and let him set it up for you:)

  • I had that same problem and i got it fixed it plays lie the shit now

  • the whammy bar will throw out the tuning heaps, as there are no locking nuts, but bending doesn't do anything to mine.

  • The fender tremolo bridges are notorious for going out of tune. You can use pencil graphite on the nut slots to help with tuning.

  • I have a Classic Vibe 50s strat and I play mostly Hendrix type stuff and I go crazy with the trem and it stays in tune beautifully. I havn't upgraded the machine heads or the nut or anything.

  • Haven't you handle? It is a standart thing or not when you buy Highway One?

  • I have it, but i don´t use it!

  • dude... why aren't you bending? Not to be rude, but your playing is kinda bland...

  • This my version of the song. I don´t like to sound just like the shadows:)

  • I can never bother to play it like its supposed to be played either so ok ;)

  • Save some cash, get the HW1. The alinco3 pu's are the most versitile of any fender pu I have tried' (the CS69's are the most vintage for the purist) but these can get the vintage and can distort like a monster with some pedals or effects. BTW look for sales, got one at GC for $400!!! And get a real tube amp, the Fender Super Champ does it all for $300.

  • great guitar!!! i love it in that color. im 13 years old and i want a new guitar. can anybody recomend me a good guitar? my budget is 1000$

  • Squier Classic Vibe Strats are great for beginners, and just great guitars all around. They're a steal at $299, so if you decide later on that playing guitar is not for you, then no big deal. There's a lot of buzz going around about them going up in value, so you might be able to get your money back if you decide to sell.

  • Check Les Pauls, SG's (Epiphone and other Japanese stuff), and of cource Fender Classic Player, Classic, Deluxe Player stuff, Jimmie Vaughan, and HW 1 strats. Oh, and don't forget Telecasters.

IMO it's not too good idea to buy cheap if you can afford a better one. Playing a crappy axe is exactly the thing to courage you to quit playing.

  • dude if you have a $1000 budget you could just buy an fender american standard and have it for the rest of your life.

  • Very nice clean tone! Keep it up and sure you can do much better. Do you use Fender or Marshall amplifier? EXCELLENT !!!

  • Great tone, is it possible to tell me the settings for the boss me 50? please!!

  • Great Sound!Excellent playing!Nice Strat next month I will buy me this Guitar :D

  • now you see and here why the highway one upgrade strats are one of the best strats period!

  • It´s not an upgrade highway 1:)

  • The Upgrade ones are the HSS ones, I think. That's just a normal Highway One Strat at any rate.

  • Upgrade highway one's are not just HSS. They are also in single coil configuration. I have just bought one recently and googled the part code which came up as a 2006 upgrade. Good guitar.

  • i want that guitar :D

  • EXCELLENT... keep it up!! Nice Fender tone!!

  • The playing is spot on, but to get that extra edge for the Hank Marvin tone, take the pickup selector down to Middle/Bridge, sounds great!!

  • Fan,Bleeping, tastic I love hank marvin and the shadows and its about time folks started showing some love for them here on you tube You played excellently thanks

  • GREAT! :D
