The Vietnamese boy (My-ca) is in Vic's right arm, and the Chinese girl (Renee), his left, slipping down. One blade of the tail rotor of the helicopter was hit by an object (likely explosive material from the ground) and the other delaminated due to the heat, causing the tail assembly to break off completely. The helicopter fell, and the main rotor blade hit the 3 actors, decapitating My-ca and Vic, and crushing Renee to death. More on the blame in my next comment.
Full Scene: Vic was running through a village while the chopper was gunning down the village, he picked up the 2 kids and ran. one of the big explosions sent a barrel flying at the helicopter and hit it, which made the helicopter fall and kill them.

That was a very interesting little documentary. The footage of Vic Morrow and the children was frighteningly clear despite being filmed off a tv screen. When the scene is shown again near the end, it stops before the impact - as it seems clear from that shot that footage exists from an angle that would clearly show the deaths happening. Surely the question should have been asked: Where was Chuck Norris the night the accident happened on the set of Twilight Zone: The Movie?!?
John Landis needs to take responsibility for his actions, same for the other people whose negligence and carelessness led to this tragedy. By the way, is it just me, or does Dean Ferrandini look and act like a low budget porn actor? You can just tell this skumbag was trying to protect his or someone else's hide. "It wasn't a stunt." That's his arguement for the film crew not being prepared for an accident? As a pilot, I know you always have to be prepared when you fly. Point being, if you are flying a helo on a film for any reason, it shouldn't matter if it's a stunt. You should be prepared.

Landis was the one that ignored safety regulations. Ignored the shopper pilot who wanted him to film outside. And he also demanded the pyro crew make bigger explosions. Spielberg was aware of none of it. And since when are "Jews" the only penny-pinching producers in Hollywood? THEY ALL ARE MORON!

A very good report. I've always heard various accounts of what happened to Vic Morrow and those kids - and they're chilling - but actually seeing the footage really leaves me shaken. Just awful, and a terrible, unnessecary tragedy. The Cannon accidents are just as horrible, and show just what a pair of penny-pinching bastards Golan and Globus really were.

god and those kids parents were watching it, i read somewhere that after it happend john landis just yelled cut and the parents were screaming and needed to be taken to the hospital and i guess john payed the parents in cash so no one would find out that he violated child labour laws. Its just so horrible that he wasnt made responsible for his actions.
