I don't understand your argument. A parent still has full rights to teach his or her children in the home. Why does this scare you to have children told the reality of a human condition, homosexuality? And the reality that some homosexual couples decide to commit their lives to each other? I am not saying that children can't learn that there are there is such a thing as a homosexual person or couple. They will find that out in life sooner or later. However, that shouldn't mean that schools or society should take precedence over what a parent teaches their child is right or wrong. If parents decide that they don't like what a school system is teaching about what is considered a moral issue, do they have the rights to challenge it? Of course.

You have the right to be against SSM and I totally agree that parents have the right to choose what their children are being taught in schools (As they have!). But the issue here was really not SSM. Mr. Parker and friends staged his arrest and refused to leave a meeting at the school and was arrested - this has been reported all over! Pushing the argument that children wil be taught

I don't know much about the the Family Research Council. I wouldn't be surprised if what you said is right. There seem to be a lot of "family" groups out there which are just political activist groups. But I think what this family went through is important and should be heard (even though it seemed like they were a little difficult to deal with and overly dramatic)

Marriage is taught in California schools. Schools are not required to teach sex ed., but according to report about 96% do.  See Calif. Education Codes 51930 and 51933: if sex ed. is taught then teaching marriage is required (see also Ed. Code 51890). My husband had to teach Safety Ed. last year at a high school, it included sex. ed.

First, the bill that mentions teaching about marriage in k-12 schools is a comprehensive statement that mentions health related issues from sicle-celled anemia to drug abuse. Do you think those are the types of things that a kindergarten class would address, or do they teach shapes, colors, and how to be nice to each other?

More over, CA education code 51240 specifically said that all matters related to sexuality can be opted out of at the parents request.

We are talking about government policy - not church policy, so what the Christian Bible says is irrelevant when talking about altering a (secular) state constitution.
