  • i was her age wben this came out, i remember routing for her on Star Search, this was good music back in the late 80's early 90's

  • I love this video. I remember seeing it first in 87 or 88.

  • Holy shit, I think I'm going to go put on my old spandex bike shorts and blowdry my hair into hairspray heaven right now!!!!!!!!!

    greg

  • LOVEEEE SONGSS LIKE THESEE !!! THESE DAYS SONGS ONLY TALK ABOUT SEX, DRUGS AND BUNCH OF BULLSHIT

  • @eger6299

    nothing has changed.

songs talked about sex, drugs and stuff in other genres back then usually not typical pop.

  • @GrumpyOldAssFart I wouldn't know;; I wasn't born yet

  • it was actually okay to keep your curly hair, today girls like to scorch and straighten their hair till it falls out.

  • LMAO @ the Kanye West comment....smh.

  • anyone anyone....TvOne's Life After: Tracie Spencer?

  • No one hit wonder, she sang background on kanye wests slow jams...........

  • @2ALCOVY She actually had more than one hit with her own songs without Kanye West's help. Singing vocals on another artist's album doesn't count though. =\

  • Meant non! lol

  • Love the simple none sexual, none erotic dancing! Hey they even have clothes on! :-)

  • Hell naw, she was no one hit wonder! Who the f**k said that? :-)

  • Yes, I agree. This takes me back to the awkward 11-year-old that I was in 88. Loved the 80s music to this day. I miss it as well as artists like Tracie. She should have gone on b/c she had a lot to offer. Probably too classy for today's music. God bless the 80s pioneers like Tracie!

  • I remember this time of year right now in '88 and this song was just coming out....it always takes me back. Anyone else feel that way?

  • What ever happened to Tracie Spencer? She could sing and had some really good songs. I guess she was too talented for modern radio.

  • @GDMCane305 Well after this album, she put out another one in the early 90s that probably had more action on the R&B charts....then there was another one in the late 90s that was WAYYYY too modern for an old schooler like me. She was also featured on the DOWN IN THE DELTA soundtrack : )

  • @GDMCane305 Wikipedia said shes in the UK doing music and modeling

  • Awe! She was so cute. Only 12-years-old when she did this video. She has a great voice.

  • ...BACK WHEN MTV ACTUALLY PLAYED MUSIC VIDEOS.

    LOVED THE 80'S!!!

  • cute song =)

  • for some reasons he remidn me of a young beyonce

  • Tracie hit #38 in Billboard, 12-3-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • @vivandav67 Great speech, but do I detect an echo in here? LOL

  • @stillonly35cents

    oops. when i wrote that rant...lol...it wouldn't post...so i kept hitting post....so then I signed out...apparently it got through...lmao

  • wow..when pop music wasn't ruled by ugly glitter covered skanks brushing their teeth with whiskey, working a tired pinup wannabe look and marrying some weird dude 10 years your senior, or say..bad attitude having, bozo wig wearing little beach urchins who come to America and end up secretly diddling their camel faced producer while his thick-thighed wife continues to make jangly no melody having hit songs while shrieking and wailing. If I ruled the world the last 10 years of pop would disappear

  • @vivandav67 LMFAO! You couldn't have said it better. I don't know what to call today's music, if you wanna call it that.

  • i remember when this video debuted on Video Soul on BET back in 1988 that lil girl was tougher than Brandy.

  • Someone had the audacity to say that she was a "one hit wonder"...I beg to differ!!! Tracie Spencer was a jewel in her time. Love ya girl!!!!

  • @pariselysse ...for real p...this young lady had mad hits....i mean truck loads...wow

  • @pariselysse You know POPS wasn't havin IT!!!!!!

  • Wow, I purposely looked this up to make a comment and I can see the answers are already here! I was going to say that this song totally has the power to take you right back to where you were when it was popular. Today I had it on in my car and I decided to ride up to my old high school/middle school complex and just play this song. It really does bring back the memories! I took the same route that the school bus used to take and it was like being back in 1988! They don't make songs like this now

  • OMG!!! I remember this song me an my cousin use to sing it all the time

  • Oh my god the memories!!! Come back Tracie!

  • @musiclover77able Same here...except I was 12... :-)Brings back memories doesn't it?.....Sort of like the young Britney Spears of that time...except I think Tracey's more talented vocally in comparison :-)

  • AWESOME SONGand AWESOME DANCING!!!!! CLASSIC!!! I loved the redhead and the way she dances too.... Anyone know who she is???

  • This Girl is AWSOME! Just watched Hit after Hit! I remember these songs, funny how songs like these was a big part of our past back in the 90's! Cant believe she was only 14, well that I've seen post after post:) WAIT... 12? WOW!! THANKS.

  • this were the good old days

  • This chic was major talented & just so happened to be pretty but didn't seem to be "fast" like how your momma use to put it. Hell, if this song came out now it would be a 13 year old singing in autotune Symptoms of True Love Making.

  • @caselaron1 Unfortunately, you are telling the truth.

  • This chic was major talented & just so happened to be pretty but didn't seem to be "fast" like how your momma use to put it.

  • o wow i had the biggest crush on her when i was little!! my wife now looks just like her lmao!

  • i dnt gt it girls in these now the old days t natural n pretty but now days they just fake i dnt get it

  • @kelzbabez231 It's the music business that concentrates on their image. Without that they aren't worth much. They synthesis their voices so much that as long as they can memorize their songs then as long as they can dance they are a hit. That is why I am glad I grew up in the 80's and 90's. That was the best period for music. I feel sorry for the music these kids are growing up with. It sucks. There are a few good artist like Nicki Minaj,Usher, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, Drake and Rihanna are cool.

  • Her voice was so very mature for her age at the time. Maybe a little too young to be signing about true love.lol

I'm glad that she didn't get turned out by the industry like alot of young girls who want to be singing stars.

  • Excuse me but.....wasn't she only about 9 or 10 years old here?!

  • @JMR83 Her birthday is July 12, 1976, so she was either 11 or 12 in this video.

  • @dragasoni So this was 1988 then right? If she was 11 then they must have made the video in the winter or spring of that year. Cool. I was in Junior High School. Great times. I had a huge crush on her to. "This House" was her best video to me. She was so darn cute it wasn't funny and her overbite was even cute to me. It made her even cutter if that is possible.

  • @reggie46404 I was 9 years old in 1988. I liked how she looked in the video "This House" myself, which was a 2 years later in 1990.

  • @JMR83 Actually she was only 12 years old. I know 12 YEARS OLD!!! But now Willow Smith has beaten her by having a recording contract at age 10.
