Very nice hi utsuri! the beni is pretty clean and it has a great bodyshape :o (not to speak of the pattern, but I know you are specialised in picking out great utsuri with dream patterns :D) Good growth too, whats your average TDS if I may ask? since im looking into the RO principes of MIke Snaden atm since he gets good growth results(but im not yet fully convinced of his methods since he believes minerals aren't necessary, while other koi experts believe that minerals are very important...)
@TupacDaDon Hi Steven. My TDS level is normally about 150-200 which is harder than what many experts recommend, but this is the level that David Soon prefers as he feels that TDS at these levels build stronger koi bodies.
@hooinc hi Paul, yeah I read that yesterday on the Malaysian koi forum, and a dutch carp specialist(Rini Groothuis) says similar thinks...(200-250 ppm) eitherway I'll have to work a bit on my TDS level, since its 300+ and thats probably taking some of the growth away, anyways thanks for your responce, and keep updating these "little ones", btw how long do u have to take care of the karasugoi? im curious of the growth it can have in your pond :D, nice specimen if u ask me
@kaytao Yup, very generally speaking, shiro utsuri and showa do grow slower than ogons, kohaku and sanke. There will always be exceptions though. This shiro is not outperforming, but neither is it underperforming. Just an average grower.
how do u know if its a male or female
