  • I find it amazing that the so called non-believers are on this page ranting and raving about a band not being Christian, it is'nt your or my right to say who or what they are, in the end as much as no one wants to believe it, We will all stand before GOD, and GOD will decide if we lived for him or not.

  • What happened to songs like this? The words are so beautifully written. Thank you DC Talk, you are so inspirational!

  • This song is really beautiful, it literally makes me tear up every time I hear it! I'm personally not a religious person, but I think you have to be crazy to not see the beauty in this song. You'd have to be crazy not to see the beauty in the diversity of religions and races and cultures on our little planet. I can't wait until everyone can see the beauty and be more accepting, but they're too blinded by hate to see... :( until then I listen to this song, it makes me feel better every time. :,)

  • Look at those little cuties with the fuzz on thier chins! Sorry guys, we got old. All three of them have AMAZING solo stuff. Tait heads up Newsboys now. Still, DANG I miss this band.

  • @Tarafriend33 why are you talking from first person like you're part of the band? DC talk>Newsboys!

  • Why are so many people being so negative with there comments?

  • @SirLanceinhispants Such epistemological arrogance has never been seen, erelong, in a soul's flourishing moment in the REAL. The radical possibilities of exploding imperialist subjectivities that are so constructed in hate are negated and reified in your Promethean hubris. Why don't you say that to my face? Smug trivialities and hackneyed bromides have no existential authenticity in the eternal now, but belie and engender perpetual Pan-idiocy. Foot in mouth, take your solitary way. Served?

  • @xxSuperNoVa103xx Your Aristotelianism is fallacious and fellacious. I, the grand logos-driven conflagration, the fervor of God out of Zion and in the Heracletian tradition, reject appeals to the law of non-contradiction. I am religious and not, and admit neither. Without further immolation unduly beset upon me, I stand by the truth out of heaven which I harbinge. Fire upon fire. Toby Mac's whiteness subsists in as a global cognitive dysfunction that upholds the Manichean divide. Now then?

  • @AwesomenessIAC DC is antichristic no doubt, anyone on this thread will admit that to you. Giving satan the middle finger? Your metaphorical gerrymandering towards the prince of darkness, who perchance is truly your bete noire, bears witness to an impoverished social situational WELTANSCHAUUNG. Your accusation of superfluity is less than banal; indeed, bowdlerized of its rarefied shape the post heretofore vouchsafed obfuscates the feral-nihilitic ramifications so leavened prior. Psyche?

  • I started listening to DC Talk too, but I´m no christian. I just like the music. No god used them to send any message to me. I just happen to love music.

  • I am a Christian, I grew up listening to DC talk, and I still love the inspiration they gave me. You could say I started playing Guitar because of them. But It's not all because of them, Its because God used them to send me his message. God showed me through them what life is all about. Thanks Lord.

  • I LOVE this song!!!

  • @jollyroger330 fancy words on youtube lol. and whoever said i am religious and not, thats contridicting your statement. (I am but im not lolz) Toby Mac isnt racist btw, idk where you get your facts but that for sure isnt fact.

  • @oregonisboring Wasn't that awesome, when we go to a place to find someone, and that one is actually somebody else?! =D

  • @JesusShineinme um...she's not black. Yes, she's from Jamaica, but she's not black. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @mochico88 Oh, snap! I thought she was another person, one of the black ladies of the band, you know? I totally got it wrong, then it makes no sense to have my former comment standing there, I'm gonna remove it! =\

    Thank you for telling! =D

  • @JesusShineinme no prob! :)

  • Religous or not, you have to admit these songs are beautiful and inspirational.

  • @SirLanceinhispants I am religious and not, and I admit neither. Pardon me, but your prejudice is showing through your textual phenomenological (Toby Mac is racist, btw). Barring your metanoetic bouleversement I contest no ontic wonders will surpass the transcription here before in Hegelian dialectic. Usurping none, I claim DC talk as but the forerunner, or harbinger, if you will, of antichristic prophetic problematic apophatic.

  • @jollyroger330 Um, yeah... I can assure you that nobody is impressed by your comprehension of the English language. Nobody talks like that. In fact it's counterproductive when making an argument because nobody knows what the hell you are talking about. Is it really so important for you to come across as intelligent to random people online? How sad...

  • @jollyroger330 Superfluous wording will not cover up the fact that you've no idea what you're talking about. DC Talk is not antichristic. Just as Christ could not use demons to do good, satan (I give him the grammatical middle finger by not capitalizing his name) cannot use people who are spreading God's word for his evil purposes.

  • Why, o why did this group have to break up?

  • @tmuzzillo You know, it's said, at least in my country, that what is good ends fast.

  • Here is a fantastic music video that the Christian world will love! It's called "Don't forget about the walk." It was written and created by a small town pastor that is also making a feature film and has written four books. You don't want to miss it! You can go to his website by going to alanmakimusicDOTcom and seeing his music video on the media tab or search for Alan Maki on youtube or Godtube. It would only take a second to look. Show some support! He has wonderful devotionals and an app too!

  • I got to run spot light for one of there concerts it was awesome..

  • Michael hasn't changed. At all. X3

  • awesome vid i miss them

but toby is better on his own

  • How dull the world would be without all the differences it holds. You can hate the fact that we look different, but in reality its what gives us character and beauty in life. To deny that, is ignorance. <3

  • Still one of my favourite songs and bands, rock on!

  • I wish they would get back into a band and do a new disc!!! i love dc talk!!!!!

  • I love DC Talk. Amazing voices, songs and Iʾve been fan since I was 4 and Im 13.. now :D and Iʾll be a fan when Iʾm 68

  • "Ignorance is wrong and racist...

    and vengeance is the Lord's.

If we aspire to share this place....

    we'll live forevermore."

    THIS is the message.

  • the best music ever. nothing more to say.

  • hello, 360p, we meet again

  • DC TALK! gosh I started to listen christian music with them , how much memories! God is so great and big that He through the music gets to you. :) It´s really a pitty that they dont be together now :( But I love Kevin Max as well Good Guys! (Y)

  • I LOVE MY RACE "ARYAN" but im not racist

LOVE YOUR RACE DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE RACIST

  • @KouroshEntertainer ,,i agree 100 percent with you,, i have pride in the white race and people call me a bigot racist,,but a black or mexican can have pride in there race and everyone loves that and see"s nothing wrong with that ,,its those damm ni*ger loving white people bringing the white race down and they act like being white is something to be ashamed of..

  • @water4jeremiah please tell me your joking.

  • DC Talk is coming back together. They're making a song about accepting gay people.

  • I came here because the drummer is the voice actor to the soldier in tf2.

  • One of the greatest christian bands of all time. Created songs that made people think and confront what was wrong in their own lives. I remember seeing them in concert when they were on their Jesus Freak tour and talk about awesome. TobyMac even shared the Word with the audience.

  • I agree with pretty much all of the posts. This is a great song and a great band. I wish they would get back together. Together their creativity was much greater than they are as 3 separate artists. Just my thought . . .

  • Even non-Christians can like this song. As long as they're not Everything-Haters.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE DC TALK! GREW UP LISTENING TO THEM! i remember being bout 5 or 6 and being at a dc talk concert! first time i saw toby mac haha great music

  • Wow, very moving song. I saw DC talk live, along time ago. They should play this on MTV or something... Put a little mind thought into the garbage hole.

  • 1,... 2,... 3,... 4.... "Colored People" has a total of four syllables! Yaaaaay! Awesome!!! I love DC Talk!!!

  • lol

  • Right on!

  • Got linked to this video randomly....great song

"Vengeance is the lord's...repentance is the choice"

    Truer words never spoke

  • How can anyone dislike this video?

  • I think DC talk is ready to come back now. I think America is ready for that sound again.

  • How come there is no black people as victims,we r the ones that r discriminated against for our color not jews or hispanics

  • psss the HOLOCOST and mexican relocation programs. Learn some history bro

  • @ani1616

You ARE kidding, right?!!??? I don't think you have a corner on the market.

God doesn't see >COLOR< in victims only people see color.

  • @ani1616 let's get out of victim mode, since we are not God we're all 'victims' in one way or not

  • good is the deep

  • BLAIR RULES!

  • Amazing sound with amazing voices! Jesus forever!

  • this is...with no dubt my favorite song!!!!

  • ths song aved my friends life

  • @fnbonsanto Can you share the story of how this song saved your friends life?

  • Remarkable band, great message and a superb video. Thanks for sharing this!!

  • I've never seen the point of racism. It's just the amount of melanin in the skin, the same thing that you see in tanned "white" people. That's why natives near the equator are normally darker skinned and natives further from the equator are normally lighter skinned. I'm not a religious person but I believe life is a gift and should be lived as one. So why live it hating people for what they look like? Why not come together and make life more peaceful? Think about it.

  • i hate it when they put advertisements in the christian songs. they seriously think this will improve thier market? :P

  • @UsGodLuvs no but it's the price of having a 'free' service. you have to put up with the annoying to get to the good stuff

  • He said shade of melanin, but it's the amount that makes you a different color not the color of the melanin >_<. sorry just bothered me. Love this sooong!!!

  • @Singerazboi100 Not strictly true, there are two pigments. Melanin is 'blue-brown' and phaetomelanin is 'yellow-orange' Scandinavian caucasians have far more of the latter than the more common brown melanin. Picky I know but I think its cool!

  • @Cal0Pat but both have 'melanin' in them right and we are the same on a genetic level so it really doesn't matter just trying to fit people things & places in boxes (nice neat categories - right?!!) stop it even identical twins aren't identical

  • @Cal0Pat

I'm Scandinavian Caucasian! at least 1/4 of it. what about the Asians?

  • What the hell? I get on here and read some comments. Some of them are pointless. This song is about bringing people together no matter what you are. Yet people are still fighting on the comments of such a song. How pointless can you people get?

  • @stickman2012 very pointless sadly :(

  • And I tought I had heard enough horrible songs. This sucks...

  • which one is toby mac

  • @redwings2011champ The guy in the blue shirt on the left when the three of them are together. He is also the one doing the voice over.

  • @redwings2011champ If you pause the video at 0:15 He is the man in the middle with the blue shirt

  • I LOVE IT AND MISS THEIR MUSIC SO BAD! MUCH LOVE!

  • I miss DC talk so much! They did such great songs, like this one. And it's true that we all are colored, beautiful and diverse. Light skin, dark skin, blue eyes, brown eyes, blonde, brown or black hair...it's all colors. I'm a mixed race and I love noticing the beauty in all races and colors.

  • @EhnaRivekan are you serious or joking? i can't tell.

  • @TheDudleywhitemud Dead serious. Last time I checked, brown, black, white, blue, etc. were all colors. Least that's what school teaches everyone LOL. So if they are colors than all people are colored.

  • @MultiLela2010

I never thought of it that way :) Race is so silly. Thanks for the food, i'm a hungry boy.

  • Sadly, 6 people only see in black and white

  • Search "Dc Talk Toby Mac illuminati" on Google to find out what this band is really about... prepare Yourself For The Truth... God Bless

  • @Double8J

More like Steven Curtis Chapman. That guy's up to his neck in the illuminati cesspool.

  • @Double8J that website lies in every way, i know its not true

  • @Double8J Yeah, I don't get why people claim there's something particularity wrong with Christian rock. If we believers were going to worry about our music being too "worldly" we'd need to worry about every aspect of our lives being too worldly; like what we eat and how we decorate our house and what car we drive. I would think that if DC talk and other Christian musicians would have just chose the secular route if they only cared about money and fame.

  • @jfreakbol look at jars of clay. i think it's awesome when the Christian message gets sent out on secular radio. i had never heard of jars of clay until i heard 'flood' on a rock station

  • I may be a heathen, but this song is in my top ten of all time. I make my heathen friends listen to this. No complaints yet.

  • @brynwilliammusic

That may be, but he's still an uncle tom.

  • we all have feelings and those feelings can be hurt

  • @west93

Wow haha! THAT is very true and funny too.

  • god made you who you are dont change yourself (ie gender) god made you that way and you should stay like that! god made you and if god likes me the way i am im not changing!

  • @TheZayin77 what about if somebody wants to be black/ white?

  • That black guy is an uncle tom.

  • @jollyroger330 You must hate smart people.

  • @jollyroger330 You're a racist.

  • The old guy at 0:20 is like "Wait what"

  • lindos, musica perfeita !

  • LOVE this....

  • the problems with all of us are 3 things: sin, bloodlust, and rascism. and like wingsofasnowhitedove said we all bleed red, we're all the human race, and god made us that way for a reason. michael jackson is a poor example of this. thank god christians know this or we all would be rascist against each other. i just love this song for this reason.

  • We all bleed red.

  • this song explains how i feel about diversity

  • I AM A DIVERSE CITIZEN!!!

  • @JesusFreak77753

    No you're not.

  • @jollyroger330 yea i am

  • @JesusFreak77753

    I don't think you are.

  • @jollyroger330 really? well i am. r u?

  • @JesusFreak77753

I know myself. I don't think you are.

  • @jollyroger330 r u judging me by my cover?

  • @JesusFreak77753

how much do you bench press?

  • @jollyroger330 i don't, why? i was thinking about doing it though

  • @JesusFreak77753

"A Bear, However Hard He Tries Grows Tubby Without Exercise" - TobyMac

    You can't legislate morality.

  • @jollyroger330 ........i'm pretty skinny...its hard for me to gain weight! and when did T-Mac say that?

  • @JesusFreak77753

Have you ever been attracted to a man?

  • @jollyroger330 no, ok you lost me there i have no idea what this has to do with being diverse

  • They're such a perfect combination!

  • Have always loved this song. Great video too

  • love this song & video! :)

  • The best christian band EVER!!!

  • @Vivopormuerte They are legend!!!!

(The Christian bands are awesome, but DC was on another level! I don't think there will be another group to touch them. I hope they do consider doing a reunion tour! I'd be all over that. Haha.

  • @Soldier4Christ4Ever1 I read that there will be one this or next year.

  • I use to listen to DC talk, when I was younger :) Explains why I have the view on life that I have now.

  • Nice Video !!!!!

  • @garth8062

That is true and it's me included too. But the thing I don't get is why do people guess about someone else's race. We are all equal and God made us equal to each other, but we are hating each other because of different race.

  • Aren't we all human after all <3

  • One of my favorite dc Talk songs of all time, so beautiful in every sense of the word. I've never seen the official video for this song, but it's rather fitting that I'm watching it for the first time today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

You did NOT die in vain, Dr. King.

  • @Adamguy2003 omg! I was just studying martin luther king jr for my exam when i thought about this song!

  • @simplysarcasticful I remember a year or two ago on MLK Day, on the radio they played this amazing version of 'Colored People.' It was the song itself, but interspersed within it at various points were audio clips/ sound bytes from the "I Have a Dream" speech.

  • Good song.

  • @princesiraj1, yes DC Talk is done but God could tell Toby, Michael and Kevin Max that they need to reunite and right back up they'd be. Bless God!

  • this is to both thepwnagepyro AND tvstvs you guys are both right not all songs have to address the ugly parts, however if you ignore them you are just as bad as the racists

  • Rapper all use the "n" word in their songs, they call each other that name, and they this its cool, normal right? why is it normal for one race and not all? who's the racists here? my people were here befor the white man and the black man. my people were slaughtered for sport by Cortez, then we were beaten by the american armies and placed into reservations, now we have most of our lands back, GROW UP!

  • Its more courageous to love than to hate.

  • @pi314phi162 well said hating comes naturally to humans but love is something that comes from God my family is completely racist with the exception of me and my sister... its really sad to see them talk like that

  • @TheZayin77 Yeah the only thing can be done is prayer and watch God work in your parents life in that aspect. I pray for a lot of people like that. I have friends like that and just try and be there because they have an awesome personality 8-D Im finding other faults more and more because God shows me. Its not just my brain or satan showing me that. It's God.

  • those guys look like homosexuals.

  • @ThePwnagePyro

    trust me they aren't

  • I searched "Colored People" without knowing what would show up. My result was an amazing song.

  • @SeniorJuniorSenior I swear i did the same thingggggg......

  • This is such a beautiful song! Thank GOD for diversity! I miss dc Talk!

  • I just absolutely love this song... Diversity is something that I'm very passionate about. Diversity = True Beauty.

  • I'm not a Christian but a Deist, and I still like this song. I always have. It's good. I mean I can sit here and debate on the morality of the bible for hours as I have read it and study it (actually I became a Deist from studying it). But why ruin such a great song? No matter what religion we are there is still one undeniable fact and that is the fact that we are all just human and everyone deserves equal rights and freedom. Black, White, Christian, Muslim, Gay, Straight - We're all one.

  • I wish there was a way we could broadcast this song to every human in their language. That would be beast!! I <3 DC Talk!!!!

  • This was the first music video i saw and heard of them as a little kid. Always brings back memories. The late 90's

  • What a vapid and meaningless song - it's kind of silly in that it pretends to be about something meaningful, when it could well have been written by a third-grader. A song that really meant to address racial issues would have dug up the more unpleasant truths about the racial prejudices in modern society, instead of a let's-all-hold-hands-and-sing-happy-songs kind of pretentious crap.

  • @tvstvs you just dont get it do you?

  • @tvstvs What an incredible closed-minded and useless opinion...

  • @tvstvs Maybe they liked the lyrics, that doesn't mean you have to like it, but you don't have to judge them for sharing. Maybe they appreciate culture and races, and could give a rat's ass about those that don't.

  • @tvstvs You know what its a good song. And who cares , why not have a light hearted song , theres plenty of doom and gloom ones out there. I dont hate or love the lyrics , but its a good song. Just enjoy.

  • @tvstvs Not every song has to adress the ugly parts of racial issues. all those songs do is divide us, they don't change anyones opinion.

which would an anti-racist want for their anthem- a song that declares "Most white people black discriminating jerks" or a song like this that declares the same anti-racist message, only with things that everyone can relate to?

    Think before you post.

  • @ThePwnagePyro So your approach is to close your eyes and pretend the 'ugly parts of racial issues' don't exist? What a brilliant approach! (I am being sarcastic, of course.) If you *really* care about racial issues, you need to address such 'ugly parts' (are there non-ugly sides to racial issues?), regardless of how painful they are. Of course, if you're only playing lip-service, then you can just close your eyes, pretend they don't exist, and listen to this song.

  • @ThePwnagePyro And btw I'm just going to ignore the incoherent meaningless babble in your post. If you thought before you posted, may be you'd be able to type a coherent sentence.

  • @tvstvs martin luther king tried that and he was murdered ;)

  • @TheZayin77 ..by the government.

  • youd think after a few thousand years wed have learned to teach our kids God sees inside not out side, so why do some of us still look out side. thousands of years of still foolishness. humans are so simple minded and thats me included.

  • @garth8062

probably because an outside appearance CAN reflect the inside of a person also

  • @garth8062 it just gets worse :( but it's great to have bands like this, even though they're done now. I like how they're direct in their messages, like Relient K, which is kinda between them and Switchfoot. Switchfoot has the messages in a much more indirect way :D they all do a great ministry in my opinion

  • i like the old men siting on the chare
