@sunsetlover I think we all are overweight to some degree....that was the point. The trouble is....it is much easier to put it on than take it off. I have been trying to get rid of the extra stuff around my waist for years...it just doesn't want to leave my side. (pun intended) haha -Steve-
I don't really see it in adults around me. I do see more and more kids that are overweight. Just like I see less and less kids riding bikes and otherwise roaming the streets under their own power.
The other night on TV I saw this program that says "the fattest people on earth live in Harlem, New York!" 85% of these people are "of color" and the rest are white. Wanna know why they are fat? Its simple..NO MARKETS, no vegetable stands, No fresh fruit trees, no nothing and for the most part these people there are on Welfare! Some money but no way to get TO the good food! These poor people live on Mac & Cheese, hot dogs, rice, beans & bread! You do the math! I totally understand their plight.
"Even the little Asian people are over weight." LOL I have noticed that there ARE more fat people than there are skinny people! I notice people more now than ever before. I have learned a LOT about obesity over the last year & many people who are so fat aren't all obese from over eating! MOST ARE, just sayin'. For the most part, i can admit that eating right & having a food plan helps to maintain a healthy weight. Exercise (atleast WALKING) is a huge part of keeping healthy & maintaining.
People make the excuse it is CHEAPER to eat fast fat making food. CRAP...I have priced it...the REVERSE is true...We are just a world of lazy fat people...it is an effort to move...i know...have been sitting in a chair for 2 days...sigh...
@xyzllii Kristine, you're right. If you buy fresh produce, un processed foods and make things yourself, you can feed 4 for the price of 1. I grabbed a jar of soup out of my fridge and microwaved it right in the jar and am eating that for lunch. I'll bet you that for the price of one can, we got 6x that amount, with more flavor, less fat, less salt and a lot more nutrition.
Just this week I heard that 1/3 of adults are overweight. Some states more so and some less. When I quit smoking, I joined that category. I'm not sorry I quit but it's a reality with which I live. Just saw your note about Victoria's Secret - for years I used to see them next to maternity wear stores. Always made me laugh; one sort of leads to another.
@thizizliz The problem is...the affordable food is the most unhealthy and fattening. (and often times the best flavored.) I've put on a few extra pounds around the middle since I quit smoking too....that's why I am looking forward to cooler weather so I can walk it off.
@OceanTownPictures Yeah, it's hard to work out when it's so freaking hot. You're right; the processed foods do taste good and are so hard to give up; but they are killing us. So we're trying hard to eliminate them. The first benefit was getting Gary's blood pressure back under control and I stopped gaining, so that's huge. Now, to replace some of the starrches that I love so much with more produce... Small steps, but in the right direction.
@jimisru Sometimes I wonder if technology has anything to do with weight gain? Modern machines have made it easy for us to sit in one spot and do almost everything.
@slanelcla Better be careful...I called people lazy in a recent video and had a bunch of shit tossed my direction because of it. haha (people don't like the truth)
@cheekychickenhead The people standing near the eatery at the mall were the heaviest with the thinnest being the girls shopping at Victoria's Secret. :)
It's pretty sad... maybe that is why they call it a SAD eating way. Standard American Diet is the source of all that 4/5 people being overweight. crazy
@Ishkiia It's difficult to eat a healthy diet because most nutritious food is more expensive and since the majority of our country is living on a limited income it gives people less options.
LOL, been on a fatty watch have ya? You are right as rain though, people are not even self-aware or self-conscious of the fact that they are over weight and don't look so hot, they don't even seem to CARE anymore. I guess, since 4 out of 5 are fatties, that they figure it's okay to be a fatty since most everyone else is already fat too....sad state of affairs, we've even let ourselves go in the nice apprearances and healthy lifestyles department. Tellin ya, this country is going to hell fast.
I think most Americans are over weight really. its all the garbage we eat.

Look at the top five employers in the world. The US military. The Chinese military. Wal Mart. McDonalds. Chinese oil.
Weight is mother nature speaking last.

@TheDarksEmpyrean The Asians used to have such slim and trim bodies...now some are looking more like mini Buddha's. I blame fast food restaurants.
