Usually Lufthansa uses 747-400 (from last week A380) on the flights to Frankfurt and A340-600 to Munich...

@Elvikowsky Actually A340's also go to Frankfurt. I took A340-300 and A340-600 trips to Frankfurt. They both go to Frankfurt.

That flight time would have been loooooong

woah !! alot of runway. nice to see A330-300 doing such a long haul !

An A333 from NRT to either FRA or MUC is quite the impressive haul for that aircraft.... slightly longer than going from either one of those two hubs to LAX nonstop!

NRT-MUC is 5070nm, LH ordered HGW-versions, the A333HGW is capable for 5500nm

@jastar08
I'm aware. However, when you factor in:
1) the headwinds for still-air calculation (easily adding 8-11% nm)
2) the fact that LH does not fly the Great Circle routing
3) LH's heavy premium seats
...the point remains, that the route is impressive for that particular type of aircraft.

@ImmortalSynn
no doubt, it is a long trip. that shows what a great A/C the a330-family is. i wonder if there have been any payload restrictions?
Nice video!
LH A330 to NRT was related to the strike (aircraft changes) and happened two times: D-AIKI and KJ the day before. A very rare sight indeed ;)
