lovely... this is MUSIC AND TALENT, God bless these musicians for expressing or god given talent they have on this beau rock, called NEWWOUNDLAND 100-----100
Keep comingt back to this site, my post was the last one 3 months ago and I am thinking that in a day or two the horror of ten years age will be remenbered and this composition would be fitting to the good people of Newfoundland in general but surely to the citezen s of Gander.....I am a friend from Quebec who is very proud of is fellow compatriots.
Awesome music, thanks for sharing.Could you tell me what guitar your pickin and from the pixs and sound of the tune home must be Newfoundland,a paradise indeed.Your a treasure Sir.
Listening once again, this morning, Robert - as lovely, if not lovelier, than when I first heard this! You are gifted musician! Aidan's photographs so fittingly match your music! Many thanks!
Robert - This tune still sends chills through my soul and gives me goose bumps. I keep coming back to Listen. You have true Newfoundland soul in your music.
this a very beautiful tune and it made me home sick. I amlearning the button accordion and would like to get or buy the sheet mucic for this tune, that way I won't wreck playing it when I can read the notes . Hope you can help me
I have to guess you are a decendent of Emile, whom I met in 66' 'viva la rose, at a garden party, The Land We're Walking on was a memorable tune. It caused me to spend a great deal of money on squeeze boxes, and screech instead of lessons, but Lrd Tundrin Jesus, when everybody in da fock'sls drunk it all sounds good
hello robert, it's jesse, ken hynes' son...I just wanted to say I love the song, makes me miss it down home...as if i didnt miss it enough!!..great vid!!
This song is so beautiful. Where can I get purchase a CD. I am putting old slides together for my Dad and would love to have this as background music.
Some things are best left alone. Being a Newfie here in California, I can add my own words that work best for me to bring me home to the shores. One only has to be a Newfie to sit back watch the pics and listen to the music that brings you back to the shores of Newfoundland. Naw please don't clutter the tune with lyrics, leave it to our imagination.
What a fine instrumental. I'm now in the process of writing lyrics to the tune. If I ever record the song I will get in touch with you first concerning royalties, etc. I think the song ranks right up there with Ashoken Farewell and should have be in a Ken Burns film if not already. It's a great fiddle tune. Ya done good lad.
Robert an absolutely wonderful tune, we have so much talent in this province. thank you for sharing with us. do you know who wrote this or if there are any words to it
Very nice piece of music. Mac Campbell here, celtic fiddler from the Campbell's Creek. Do you have the sheet music for this? If so I woul like to learn this tune on the violin. The pictures bring back a lot of memories.
Just a perfect piece of music. Plus the pictures were Just awesome, to say the least, very touching to the heart to a transplanted newfie. cliff brushett, Grande Prairie, AB
Rob, As long as I see the pictures in this video, I can never be far from home. I think you said it all about NL when you made this video. Thank you very much. (Lourdes, formally) Brampton Now.
I know I commented on Rob Benoit's above video before but I have to listen and watch this video everyday, before it is so well put together and it just hits home right to hte heart. Well Done Rob!!! Bertie Lainey - Brampton. (Formanlly Lourddes, NL)
Rob, you have dome an absolutely GREAT job with this video. I swear it is the same beach I grew up on. The shore where Louis Lainey fished, Roy March, Raymond Benoit, Paddy Retieffe etc... Brings me back to yesteryear all over again. Rob, you are awesome!!!! Bertie Lainey (Brampton) Steeles & Hurontario.
