Wow! Johnson was playing deep in on the left lane and an outside shot on the right.  Today's pros never have to play a different shot on the same pair.

are you serious? You are completely wrong about today's pros never having to play a different line.

I take that back. I should not have said "never", but from the tournaments I have watched on ESPN the past few years, and I do watch most, it is seldom a pro plays such a different line on a pair. I think Ryan Shafer did a couple of months ago in the tourney Norm Duke won, beating Walter Ray and Shafer.
