The Seventh Ecumenical Council happened in 787, not 754, and it was only restoring to the Church of Constantinople what had been destroyed. Is it not a coincidence that iconoclasm began right when Islam was invading Orthodox areas?

True that in the Greek translations the SAME Greek word pneumatov (pneu=ma) for Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost.
That would make a person think that there is no difference between Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost.
But the translators of the KJ Bible (AND Other translations) realized there IS a difference in the context and so they translated the same Greek word into different English words to show this.
Not only does the KJ Bible use the term the Holy Ghost, but all earlier English Bibles did.

It is a solid church of faith, and Putin has done well in re establishing it after years of communist suppression. The Church and Putin are no anti christs, merely good Christians. You should spend more time praising God, than looking in the wrong place for false prophets.

Also, Jesus didn't come here to create a religion or a physical "church" The word church as used by the bible is actually a different word.. Ecclesia . The christian "church" wasn't created until decades to hundreds of years after Jesus lived.

After the horror of WWII, GB helped jews get their promised land back. Then all the large oil rich Arab countries attacked, and lost. Orthodox church is the only one that NEVER changed and remained the same ever since the year of 33. a.d. Who's guarding the Jesus Christ grave? Catholics, maybe? Most have had to push it back to the 2nd century since you'll find practically all of our theology in writings from that time period. Constantine won't work as a scapegoat anymore either.

@robjanos Iconoclasm was the innovation, not vice versa. Even the word iconoclasm (ie "icon smashers") implies that icons existed before hand. Archeology, writings, and general history show that icons were used by the entire church before iconoclasm erupted.
The Seventh Ecumenical Council happened in 787, not 754, and it was only restoring to the Church of Constantinople what had been destroyed. Is it not a coincidence that iconoclasm began right when Islam was invading Orthodox areas?
