My furthur response is that there is nothing unique and powerful about Jamal Bryant as opposed to faithful gifted men right here in my home town. I'm not missing a thing by not traveling to see him except to witness him operate in a role he is not qualified for. However, I agree God still blesses the preaching of His word. I don't have more passion for far away TBN superstars than I do locally gifted men in my town.

In order to spread the gospel worldwide as Jesus commanded, you have to have money for satellites, travel expenses, tv air time, etc. The bible also says that Jesus tithed of everything. If Jesus did it, then we must do it as well. It also says, "give, and it shall be given unto you." If you give as God commanded then he will send an increase into your life. God also stated that it is HE that gives us the power to get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18.

So you claim Old Covenant, well than you should live by the Old Covenant. Live by the LAW, all 613 of them.
If you are under grace, as you are not bound by the Law, you also don't have the same system of punishments and rewards. Under grace the gift is eternal life and riches in Heaven.
What was done under the old covenant was a shadow of Heavenly things. Things completed in Christ, Hebrews 10:1. So to look to Old Covenant material rewards is to place hope in the shadow, rather than the Lord who said to build for riches in Heaven, Luke 12.

Christ brought the completion of the old covenant. The old covenant brought financial blessings to those who obeyed the law of the Lord.
The new covenant signifies the riches of Christ in salvation and spiritual blessings for those who obey God.
Godliness does not equate to financial gain like these greedy people would like you to think 1 Tim 6. The Apostles and the 1st century church are the perfect examples of this.

Hello, XSILENTS. My response to you is that I am glad you got your revelation. My furthur response is that there is nothing unique and powerful about Jamal Bryant as opposed to faithful gifted men right here in my home town. I'm not missing a thing by not traveling to see him except to witness him operate in a role he is not qualified for. However, I agree God still blesses the preaching of His word. I don't have more passion for far away TBN superstars than I do locally gifted men in my town.

In order to spread the gospel worldwide as Jesus commanded, you have to have money for satellites, travel expenses, tv air time, etc. The bible also says that Jesus tithed of everything. If Jesus did it, then we must do it as well. It also says, "give, and it shall be given unto you." If you give as God commanded then he will send an increase into your life. God also stated that it is HE that gives us the power to get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18.

i'm just glad that god gave me a modicum of wisdom, so i don't get caught out too often when these preachers tell me to give them a 1,000 big one's so as to ensure my salvation. yes i know that god gave me everything i own so by giving my 10% i am only giving him
back what belongs to him in the first place. but can someone please tell me why god who has everything would want to take back from me what he gave to me in the first place.

Houston? We have a problem. The spirit of American-style capitalism has taken over the church and its by-products. Where will it end? Have any of you ever read the book, The God That Failed? Everything in the church today has a financial cost, even the seed offering is payment for God's free services and salvation. Simon offered money to the Apostles so that he could acquire the power that would increase his status and in the end benefit him financially.

I believe the OP is talking about gluttony and peddling the gospel, not managing the day to day operations of the church. Of course it takes cash to manage a church but profiting from pain and salvation, two different extremes.

American Capitalist Church syndrome? The minister has become a part of the religious entertainment system, that many of our mega-ministers and ministries have co-signed. A religious minister or group, in a (capitalist) system, is shaped by that system. He or she is also in a defacto way a servant of that system as he or she supports its principles. Bishop Jakes says that the church is 'a business', no longer a spiritual organization/body of baptized believers! Which master are they serving?

While many church members strive to make Forbes Top 50, theyre missing salvation and seeking 'principles' to help them gain earthly means.

Jesus signified the new covenant;
He did not say follow me, and get earthly blessings.
He said if you follow me, youll have to deny yourself, and you may lose your life following me to the cross.

Christ fulfilled the Abrahamic promise which promised Christ. We share in that promise.

So you claim Old Covenant, well than you should live by the Old Covenant. Live by the LAW, all 613 of them.
If you are under grace, as you are not bound by the Law, you also don't have the same system of punishments and rewards. Under grace the gift is eternal life and riches in Heaven.

What was done under the old covenant was a shadow of Heavenly things. Things completed in Christ, Hebrews 10:1. So to look to Old Covenant material rewards is to place hope in the shadow, rather than the Lord who said to build for riches in Heaven, Luke 12.

Napoleon spoke of the hypocrisy of the clergymen of his day who claimed to be people who did not seek earthly treasures, but lives sceamed otherwise.
Though Napoleon was not a Christian, I feel his quote represents the state of many professing Christians today who claim that their treasure is Christ alone, but preach a false gospel that places earthly treasure at the forefront instead of Christ.
My point is this: even the non-Christians see the hypocrisy of these greed leaders.

He saw the same thing in his day. The greed cults are in existence just as they were in Napoleons day, and in the 1st century.
The greed-cults that exist today are nothing new. Even non-believers like Napoleon saw their hypocrisy.
They say their treasure is in heaven: only lip service, because they live greedily.
The greed-cults still live today, and TBN is the leader of them all.

Scripture answers your question (Hebrews 9):
Christ brought the completion of the old covenant. The old covenant brought financial blessings to those who obeyed the law of the Lord.
The new covenant signifies the riches of Christ in salvation and spiritual blessings for those who obey God.
Godliness does not equate to financial gain like these greedy people would like you to think 1 Tim 6. The Apostles and the 1st century church are the perfect examples of this.

Jesus said:
Any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:33).
Christianity is self-denial, not self fulfillment.
THis is why Christ said "deny youself, take up your cross, and follow Me."
Christ said follow me to the cross, and the majority of His disciples were killed for the gospel.
But these men teach a greed-gospel which is not a gospel at all.

The FORBES TOP 50 church's mission is to make believers rich.
But Jesus gave the real Church a totally different mission (Matt 28:19)....Disciple making is totally free of charge. It only costs time and study before God.

I have said that God DOES NOT want Christians rich. Proverbs 30:8-9 indicates this. Jesus' life indicates this. THe Apostles lives indicates this. The lives of the NT Church indicates this. Prov 23:4.

You notice these "deep" folk never have a response. once you give them goos biblical exegesis! The did not have a response to my comment either.
