  • Over the years I had the good fortune to be involved with several video presentations involving the Space Shuttle and an on-board program then known as SAREX - The Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment (that has since morphed into Amateur Radio on the ISS). As such I got to see a number of launches at the Cape and heard many sonic booms as the shuttle passed over my home as it approached Dryden to land. Ive also seen a lot of shuttle video, but what you have edited is to me awe inspiring. Thank you.

  • id like to think the shuttles succeeded more than they failed..that they inspired us to go on to better things ....and to think that just over 100 years ago the wright brothers flew a few 100 yards.....and now look how far weve come..surely the future is bright for further space travel...and to those who paved the way.....we thank you:-)

  • what is the song played until 2:06 ?

  • i went into space

  • brilliant tribute

  • damn sad about them retiring the shuttles, i wish they would sell them and i had enough money to buy one id live in it :D

  • Beautifully done.

  • amazing makes me want to go to space but cant anymore

  • This video is truly awsome to watch. Thank you!

  • Great Mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely very stirring. I would say this is one of the finest videos I have ever seen on you tube. I got to work on some of the mission payloads over the past 30 years, and it was such a pleasure to do so. Do not view this as an ending. We WILL return to space, because the people are behind it. It IS our destiny.

  • @Spaceflightlover2010 Please check mine out, I'm struggling to get any views. It would be much appreciated!!

  • Scene ends Fade to black. Clap, Clap....Thanks Nasa for all you have done.

  • What's the name of the first song??

So this vid is amazingly perfect. thank you very much.

  • Very stirring and professional. If only you could post the HD version.

  • Beautiful close-ups, cosmic smiles :))

  • @POVScreenscapeS Which video is going to play on Comcast On Demand? That's neat!

  • @JudyWhoo A HD and SD Version of this video.

  • @JudyWhoo Thanks so much! NASA Provided me the footage and indeed much was from the Accent Highlights. The Orbiting shots were animated from photographs. The most interesting in the Re-entry shot. It was originally hand-held and very shaky, I smoothed it out to show the grace and beauty of the shuttle.

  • @POVScreenscapeS The shuttle will be missed. Hard to believe we are near the end of an era.

  • Just Great!

  • view nº 1111!

  • The landing with that music is so epic! God bless humanity for their efforts of discovery and journeys into the stars.

  • Inspirational (period).

  • Great work. The music you picked is perfect for the video. It so beautiful watching the lift-off. I believe that was Atlantis last commute to the orbit last year.

  • Uplifting stuff.

  • @Melmn Thanks! The music was from a variety of sources

  • Very nicely done! 5 minutes never went by so quickly. Thanks !

  • I agree, I could have easily done a 30 minute piece and it would have been more emotional!

  • very nicely done. thank you for sharing!

  • beautiful...

  • @sydneydo Thanks so much!

  • Very moving and yet I can't help feeling even more frustrated that as a country we have let our shuttle program come to an end.

  • @sandwiches1976 It is sad that these vehicles will never feel lift on their wings again, but this is paving the way to privatization of the exploration of space and we will be see a lot of great advancements!

  • That was beautiful and breathtaking! I loved it.

  • Watched this with my 11 year old son and he loved it!
