Over the years I had the good fortune to be involved with several video presentations involving the Space Shuttle and an on-board program then known as SAREX - The Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment (that has since morphed into Amateur Radio on the ISS). As such I got to see a number of launches at the Cape and heard many sonic booms as the shuttle passed over my home as it approached Dryden to land. Ive also seen a lot of shuttle video, but what you have edited is to me awe inspiring. Thank you.
id like to think the shuttles succeeded more than they failed..that they inspired us to go on to better things ....and to think that just over 100 years ago the wright brothers flew a few 100 yards.....and now look how far weve come..surely the future is bright for further space travel...and to those who paved the way.....we thank you:-)
Definitely very stirring. I would say this is one of the finest videos I have ever seen on you tube. I got to work on some of the mission payloads over the past 30 years, and it was such a pleasure to do so. Do not view this as an ending. We WILL return to space, because the people are behind it. It IS our destiny.
@JudyWhoo Thanks so much! NASA Provided me the footage and indeed much was from the Accent Highlights. The Orbiting shots were animated from photographs. The most interesting in the Re-entry shot. It was originally hand-held and very shaky, I smoothed it out to show the grace and beauty of the shuttle.
Great work. The music you picked is perfect for the video. It so beautiful watching the lift-off. I believe that was Atlantis last commute to the orbit last year.
Beautiful tribute. I remember the first flight in '81 covered extensively by ABC News. Wish they would issue a DVD of that first launch and their 2 hour coverage. Good memories...
ty man foe this, i had 17 years, and i know a lot of shuttles, and a lot of space program from 57 till now, and i'm very excited to see the last flight of shuttle Endevour mission sts-134 on 29-th april....best vishes from bosnia and herzegovina...
@sandwiches1976 It is sad that these vehicles will never feel lift on their wings again, but this is paving the way to privatization of the exploration of space and we will be see a lot of great advancements!
