  • laid back and punch it out the very man for that

  • Paul Cox? WTF? Saw Greg Mangus sing this in the USA(Nashville) was surprised they knew Frankie, he paid tribute to him, did, and acknowledged, Fankie's version of "He'll have to go" as well, bloody marvelous..........

  • just another saturday

  • Jeez, this man is magic, a real musician and no a bad actor too

  • super...

  • I simply love this tune ..

I don't hear great stuff like this in the lyrics from nowadays ..

  • I have followed Frankie from the middle 70s as I used to work with his now ex brother in law, and he was brilliant live, the concert in Glasgow city halls in 1978 was great with his best pal the big yin (Billy Connolly) in attendance. He fell ill in 1994 and was in a coma but he managed to battle back but can no longer perform his skills. He was always at war with his record company over musical differences and this contributed to less exposure, He was better thought of in USA than UK

  • I love this song

  • Aye, one the world's top drawer blues/rock singers. Such a shame he's largely unknown compared to the usual big names, some of whom aren't fit to carry his jockstrap. Strange as it is, along with Dan McCafferty of Nazareth (who's a different style but up there too), Frankie is probably less appreciated in his own country than outside it.

  • I want to 'like' this 3 squillion times over it just gives me such a happy feeling this wee song

  • changingnames83 - you ar right about jealous guy. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand upwhen he screams out 'jealous stupidity'!

  • the wee man started wi wan i the best voices in the world . looked at his hero,s and improved on it. well revered the world over. he sings from the heart not for effect. i know. we both went to the sacred heart of brigtin.. long life wee big man

  • Kurt Ostbahn: Defekt, Album: Live (1985)

  • You're the man Creedona,

    Amazing Frankie material...

I've never enjoyed this rocker as much..

Thanks for taking the effort to allow us to see this legend in action...

    Amazing posts man..

    Colin

  • On yersell the Frankie Bhoy

  • @rexforth - well remembered . Jimmy Dewar was a fantastic singer who never received the recognition he richly deserved . Both Jimmy and Frankie were class acts with a similiar gritty rich sound to their voices .

  • @SPARKY53100

And both Scottish of course. Let's not forget Jack Bruce.

  • @ScotRanger1960 Quite right . Saw Jack with Robin Trower last year in Glasgow . Was also lucky enough to see Jack in 1973 at Greens Playhouse with West , Bruce & Laing . Happy days .

  • @SPARKY53100 You seen West, Bruce & Laing ? You lucky bugger. I was only 13 in 1973 and was still into The Sweet, Slade etc. Didn't know any better.

  • @SPARKY53100 ...and they both played with Robin Trower. Frankie was in Jude with Trower but left along with drummer Clive Bunker. He co-wrote "I can't wait much longer" from Trower's 1st album.

  • An all time fave

  • This song rocks. Andy Fraser is one of the genius behind the greatest British R&R band "Free".

  • Remember this when Frankie released it as a single and performed it on Top Of The Pops with The Frankie Miller Band. Still listen to it today. What a voice. Often mimicked but never matched. Keep on rockin brother.

  • god bless u frankie bhoy

  • one of Glasgows finest talents

  • awsome song

    what a singer

  • I got into Frankie with the Full House LP. His version of Jealous Guy is untouchable. What a voice! One of the greatest rock vocals of all time.

  • I think he's playing a right handed, normaly strung strat left handed! upside down in other words.

  • Who's the guitarist here?Is itHenry Mcullough?

  • Of course it isn't,I've just noticed he's left handed.Must be Ed Deane? What a guitarist.Great solo and an amazig tone too.

  • The only other guy who could sing this is Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, Free.)

  • Got into Frankie's music when I used to live in Edinburgh in the '70s--I never heard ANY r & b singer from the British Isles with quite this much soul, and I love Paul Rodgers, Eric Burdon, early Rod Stewart, Terry Reid. Check out his version of Lennon's "Jealous Guy" and you can see why everyone was comparing him to Otis. Guid oan ye, Frankie and keep getting well.

  • Frankie, what a guy. I only wish I was older so I could have maybe seen him in his time. He is nearing 60...Theres still time!!!

  • I saw him only once in Leffinge(leuren) Belgium in the early 90's. I'm still standing on shakey ground today. Great artist!

  • "....to see the Celtic and to see my Mammy......in that order!....." quite a guy that Frankie Miller.

Love this song, superb singer, quite simply, as good as they get.

  • Lousy sound..........Great tune ♫☺

  • this guy is a great ! singer and a lovely guy too !

  • our glasgow lad, frankie, who wrote it with free bassist andy rogers, frankie was also a great actor, check JUST A BOYS GAME,bbc film from around 77.

  • Andy Fraser actually..!..But,yeh..agreed on all points listed!

  • Frankie Miller is great. Just discovered him on You Tube. He sounds a lot like Delbert McClinton...who I love, and have seen many times live. Good stuff!

  • I love Frankie Miller and this song. Great video.

  • Torres?

  • Can anyone name the left handed lead guitar player here please ? Great great voice as ever.

  • Guitar = Ed Deane from Ireland. Note how his guitar is strung upside down.

  • I am a big fan of Frankie's and agree he was the best thing to come out of scotland - he helped me a lot in my teens when I went to all his gigs. I have managed to locate all his albums on CD but dont know where to get copies of any video's

  • He performed this song on T.O.T.P., haven't seen it since.

  • Great song! Saw Frankie at British R&B Festival this week - looked and sounded in great form !!

  • Sorry that was not Frankie singing. However it was his band being fronted by Paul Cox

  • Well it was billed as Frankie Miller's Full House and featured Henry McCullough and Ray Minnitt. He was introduced as Frankie Miller though he didn't speak between songs and had lyrics on a stand.

  • However, you may be more familiar with Frankie Miller stuff than me.

  • Although there is band called Frankie Miller`s Full House , Frankie i snot with them due to his earlier illness and ilhealth. The band you saw is -

    Henry McCullock - guitars

    Ray Minhinnett - guitars

    Mal Mortimore - drums

    Chris Parren - keyboards

    J.M. - bass guitar

    Paul Cox - lead vocals.

They are on myspace for more info
