  • Could you make pattern A29258. Thanks

  • @aslgirl40 I have alpha tutorials on the basics... I can't do the full pattern requests on cam. They take way too long to make. If you learn the basics then you can make any alpha so long as you have the pattern to follow or can make a pattern.

  • Thank you very much BeyondBracelet!!!

  • Hi, I have a question. Lately I'm making bracelet with pattern from friendship bracelet. net. But they don't say how longer the strings do I need. When I'm making basic bracelet without pattern, I fix 65 inch to 70 inch( and hold to half like you do )

When I want to make wide bracelet like use 20 to 30 strings bracelet, how much longer do I need? My wrist size is about 15 to 16cm.

So sorry if I had wrong in my English. I'm not native speaker(T_T)

  • @CASHwoKURE 15 strings is 65 inches about.

If you add 5 strings to 15 (20 strings) make it 5 more inches over 65 (70 inches) etc.

For every extra 5 strings I'd say add 4-5 extra inches.

  • subtitutle pls spanish xD

  • @Mr420Mus1c I don't speak Spanish or know anyone fluent that would be willing to help unfortunately. =/

  • How do you read them at a diagonal?

  • @Waterhorse300 Same way you would read them across. Lay a piece of paper down at an angle and you should be able to see what needs to be done for each diagonal row. (Though I'm not sure why you would need to do that, it's probably easier to do them in horizontal rows for this sort of pattern.)

  • thank you very uch i made a few patterns allready but there mostly shapes /wierd versons of stripes

  • yaaaay :D I made my first pattern and it actualy worked :D I feel pro nao :3

  • Thxs

  • So if there is not a knot at the beginning there In pairs

  • @christie92079 Yes.

  • How can you tell if there in pairs or not

  • @christie92079 By them being beside one another in a pair attached with a knot.

  • sorry, i don't understand, can you make a video wich you show with thread how to make that knots, i know knots but i can't make bracelet becouse i don't know where is start, middle, finsh? Please so much! Thanks.

  • @cristerm256 I have another video. "How to read patterns on friendship-bracelets(dot)net"

  • Thanks for the help before, that website is great!

How would you start it off, I know there are many ways, but what would be most secure but looks okay, and not too fancy. And could I use yarn instead of DMC thread?

  • @retropacgirl I'd say just using a normal loop. I just posted a video on how to wrap the loop if you wanted to fancy it up a little and make it a bit easier to put on... /watch?v=jaL-4TTUZeU

As for using yarn... any string will work for this it just depends on your own preference. I dislike yarn because the fuzz makes me itchy so I'd never use it... but if you like yarn by all means try it out.

It should function the same other than the size difference- you'll have a bigger/wider result.

  • So your suppos to start from the left and work your way to the right????? Im confused

  • @iloveapplepie1998 You're using two strings at a time... try looking at my other video "How To Read Patterns on Friendship-Bracelets(dot)net"

  • Okay, I think I'm starting too get an understanding of it! So, what you mean is you go by row? Like

    A B C D

-> -> -> -> << So, whatever the in-dominant string is, that is the string you're doing the knot on? And the dominant is the one you're using to make the knot? And you go by row? (Acrostic) S-I-M-P-L-E!

  • @thehottiezofhotchip Yeah, pretty much. You'll always be pairing up two strings to make your knots and one will be the one you knot with, one will be the one you knot onto.

  • So, I tried drawing what you meant by this pattern as a reference for later, it turned out well, and I am getting the hang of it , It just takes time to remember the knots.

  • its very (x1000)difficult :(

  • @hannahama100 It's not that bad. Just go one row at a time.

  • I'm trying to figure out how to create a pattern that can be worked across a row at a time, rather than in pairs like this generator. Ex: the arrowhead pattern. Also, this generator is cool but will only show me what happens when I throw a bunch of knots around. It doesn't show me what knots I need to make the pattern I see in my head. Any ideas?

  • @blu3jay I talked to the site owner (Stefan) and he said he will look into a generator for patterns like chevrons and candystripes since the 'pairs' make some patterns more difficult.

For now you can use paint/photoshop and at the repeat you crop the photo at an angle and paste. I might be able to make a short video on how to do it... I sometimes do that but lately the patterns I've been using are best worked in pairs... plus people seem to be finding it easier. I'll see what I can do.

  • i went to the site and found a pattern but i can't seem to figure out how much string i should use.. it doesn't say how much and i need to make it for a present..:(

  • @imnotyou01 Anything below above 6 but below 16 strings is 65" appx. (before folding) and then anything over 17 maybe 70" until you get to about 25 or so.

Chances are you don't need more than that but if you did I add about 4-5 inches per extra 4-5 inches on top of '65' which is standard for most. This is not accurate for alphas. Only regular bracelets.

  • I am still freakishly confused on how to read these things. ( I think the insomnia is really starting to mess with my brain). I can do patterns by watching other ppl do them but I dnt understand the printed patterns.

  • @chesirecat2592 /watch?v=1NIBj64NUXw

  • Thank you for the website it just what i needed :D

  • just a suggestion...if you want to 'mark' paper...get some clear acetate or such to overlay and can wipe away..........thus you can demonstrate without ruining-marking up paper........thanx for vids........

  • @creativevirgo12 Yeah, I don't really make these 'marked up' videos often so I didn't really need anything like that... but that is a good idea if I plan on making many more in the future. Thank you.

  • how do you know what strand to make the knot around ??

  • @ganstaboii23322 Check my video on how to read the patterns of Friendship-Bracelets(dot)net.

    link: watch?v=1NIBj64NUXw

  • @ganstaboii23322 Depends on the color you want to show. If you want the color on the left to show, do a FK or FBK. If you want the right color to show, do a BK or a BFK. With FK, you end up moving the left string to the right-hand position. With a FBK, the strings will stay in the original order. Similarly, with the BK or the BFK, the former will move the right-hand string to the left-hand position and the latter will keep them in the original order.

  • i have a little portable wifi card that u can take anywere and it has a charger 2 i speeded up the wifi so now my computer plays right through any video without pauses and relally smooth :)

  • It's awesome thanks a bunch... I just wanna know how did you print this page. I never get it like this.

  • @Mehtasanaya I just enlarged it in my paint program. (Print screen from friendship-bracelets*dot*net) and then paste in to paint... then you can resize it.

  • @BeyondBracelets Okay Thanks that's actually what I was doing but I thought there might have been an easier way. :)

  • Thanks it helped a ton but when I went to the website all that came up was a ton of google links

  • @The101Bracelets Not sure why it came up as google links... it comes up fine for me?

  • @BeyondBracelets i figured it out i was typing it in wrong

  • thank you so much these helped me alot

  • @kcf16 You're welcome, glad it helped you out.

  • it freakin keep pausing . i really like this vid though . but it keeps pausing every time u say something important !!!!! :o

  • @chocolatemilk98604 I'm thinking that might be something with your connection or the internet browser.. try clearing your internet cache/cookies out and maybe it will run a bit more smoothly.

  • this was so helpful! i didn't even know you could change the arrows and colours of the strings.

    omg. thanks so much!!

  • @blissblueblew You're welcome.

  • @GabyEvee13 You're very welcome.

  • @9neeni10 I'm not sure what you're talking about.... try looking at my "four types of knots" video in the beginner basics playlist and maybe you'll figure out how to connect them.

  • it won't let me on to the site

  • @vampgirlization Try clearing out the history/cookies in your internet browser... maybe that will fix it.

  • @BeyondBracelets I have the same problem as @vampgirlization and I already cleared the history/cookies, but it just tells me that the site has been suspended o.o

  • @fanyyx3 I checked the other day when someone else asked if I had issues and yes- I'm getting the same error. Not sure what's up but hopefully the site isn't gone forever.

  • i was wondering can u make a video tutorial for the totem pole pattern????

  • @kbug1919 I'm waiting on a new internet router... but when I do get it the totem pole is on the list already so I will bump it up. If I get multiple requests on the same pattern I usually do it sooner than a pattern only one person asking.

  • Thank you.

  • @731lexi No problem. <3

  • I'm confused- are the way the arrow points on the knot a "forward 4" or a "backward 4" ? But what about the crooked arrow? Do you do both directions on one knot?

  • @731lexi

Down to the right = Forward

Down to the left = Backward

The "crooked" ones are the same idea, down to the right is forward, down to the left is backward.

Starts going down to the right and then switches left = forward backward.

Starts going down to the left and then switches right = backward forward.

  • thanks for this video.

  • What string brand do you use and where do you get it cheap?

  • @tboneluvr888 I have a video up (link is on my channel) I describe the strings and the differences- as for cheap it depends on what quality you are after. The best bang for your buck would be DFN (Janlynn Company) strings- they come in packs of 100 skeins for $15.00 maybe less if you're lucky.

  • I find YOUR WAY the best , especially for teaching on cammera. We know what string your talking about with the L & R system. With other tutorials, saying " now take this string and make a....", I cant see what "this string" is on the badly lit couch arm they decided to make a friendship bracelet tutorial....lol!

  • The pattern you used as the thumbnail for the video is really similar to one of mine's, LOL, when I saw it I was like "OMG! That's sooo cool she used one of my patterns!" Then I saw mine has like 10 strands xD, but yeah, great video nonetheless :)

  • @fandelesluthiers Which one? I actually just messed around on the generator to make something random up... so I'm not sure which is similar to the pattern you've come up with.

  • @BeyondBracelets Oh, derp. The thumbnail. Haha. I'm tired and didn't comprehend everything you said =x

I've made similar ones too- I have the pattern posted from like a month ago or so. I called it the "stacked diamond" patterb,

  • @BeyondBracelets Mine is numer 8366, it even has the same colors xD

  • @fandelesluthiers Great minds think alike. I think my pattern might have been a bit bigger.

  • @fandelesluthiers I checked the pattern, mine is different... it's little diamonds on either side (stacked diamond tutorial) yours looks like little mountains with a zig-zag down the middle... it's still cute though!

  • is the second pattern the same one you used for the ring?

  • @K8e92 Yeah, I figured it was cute and I wanted to see what I could do with it.

  • @BeyondBracelets awesome, i actually made a ring and i kinda liked it, but i'm not wearing it so i dont have to worry about unwanted tan lines

  • do you know why they dont approve the patterns if there is less than 6 strings? cause i like the smaller patterns better and i dont like wasting to many strings on just one bracelet? ;) thanks.

  • @TheMsSingapore It's not that they NEVER will it's just with less strings it's more and more likely that a very similar pattern is already posted. You can try- but don't be surprised if it is denied. It's not them being mean or anything- they just try to avoid duplicates when they can.

  • @BeyondBracelets ohhh. right didnt think about that ;p and thanks for the reply! x

  • Oh sorry about that. Ive been on there before. Its just that the patterns at the top and stuff look alot different.

  • Great explaination! What website did you get the patterns??

  • @TheMilklover3 The description has the link.

  • thank u :D

  • @jiyeonands91 You are very welcome.

  • Thanks a bunch, you make it all so easy to learn.

    hope you are healing well...

  • Thx it helped

  • Why are all patterns on that site always 1-2 patterns? Ugh, i dont like those that much bcuz sometimes i get mixed up if the strings are the same color. :/

  • @OmgItsMomoGirl Well, I'd suggest using the loom if you can... it might help you keep them in order better and not get quite so confused... but you probably already have tried that. =P

  • Thank yuuuh!!
