The song isn't bad, and the fandom definitely isn't, but trying to imagine Spock saying anything even remotely like "I fuck deep" is just a little too crazy for my brain to comprehend, except maybe when he was under the influence of spores or something. The tension between Jim's hookups and Vulcan monogamy is definitely an extremely important subject for the fandom, but I think the lyrics are just a little too crass in this case. Mediocre combination, but great video!

Well there isn't really a sex scene. It lasted like 5 secs and they were only kissing. And I remember also Shatner kissing girls from different planets in TOS. And you have to remember that the Enterprise crew is A LOT younger in this movie so I think it's just fine.

The implications of sex in those episodes is pretty in-your-face, especially when you're talking about the 60's.

And I'll admit there're more kabooms, but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing inherently. After all, think about Wrath of Khan; that's the most violent of the original movies, iirc, and everybody (including most of the sniffy "Oh, I like characters and plot and emotional drama" types, because I admit to being one) loves that'n. It's finding the balance that's important.

I love this song. I love K/S. However, this new Spock doesn't really jive with a song like this. He'd never admit to falling in love, especially after the incident on the bridge, because he's afraid of his emotions and of hurting people.
