he is more of a talent than i first thought, just look at those arkward chord shapes! strictly for the dedicated jazz guitarist,if you are a beginner don't look,it'l put you off for life!
your version is nice, dont listen to anyone who comments badly they are stupid. STUPID!! it is simpler than jeffs yet thats what i believe sets jeff apart from all the rest, he was so deep deep deep deep like an ocean!!!

Oh for pitys sake stop..STOP..just sit quietly somewhere and it'll all go away for all of us..thankfully. Perhaps consider another career..you have no idea how god awful you are..as a singer..I'm sure not a person
Lilac wine is impossible to cover, unless you have a voice like Elkie Brooks, or, Nina Simone. Nice try mate, but if I were you, I would'nt give up the day job just yet.
Do you know what cover means, retard?! This song was written in the 50's, and first sung by Hope Foye. So Both Nina Simone and Elkie Brooks covered it, as well as Jeff Buckley. So slickwillie is just right, you morons.
If we're going to talk stupid, it's "Simone did this," not "Simone, done this." People who live in glass houses should not cast stones. That said, I sure hope I didn't make some stupid mistake in this post. :)
but yeah, he's right, jeff didnt write this song, yet it's unfair to say that just because one really cool dude like jeff does an awesome version of a song that it's untouchable...jeff's one of my idols but i know that his shit smelled just as bad as everyone else's
This is pretty good. It's hard to cover buckley because he is so great... You've tried to do a more personal version, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's deceiving. Maybe if you are a bit more implicated?
I can only second what everyone else has said. Please put some more Jeff Buckley covers on here. I think your voice would work well on 'Lover you should've Come Over', one of my favourites, I'd like to hear your version :)
great voice!! keep on posting more material, please. What about "Hallelujah", from Jeff Buckley? Or some classical, like the Beatles, or even some Paul Simon stuff... I think you should be in satges, not in your room... Luck!
I really liked that you change a little bit of the chords. truly touching cover.

I agree with u, its impossible to cover.

Yes it is impossible to cover!!! especially after singers like Nina Simone and Elkie Brooks have done it.....
slickwillie1947 3 years ago
Nina Simone did not ever cover this song. Read history. Nina were already dead when Jeff came with his version.
TheNewThink 3 years ago
You are amazingly stupid. Nina Simone, done this song in the 60s. Elkie Brooks had a U.K. hit with Lilac Wine in 79. Do you know what cover means????

I'm sorry mate but this aint good, its just bland. The original is all about the vocals, you've lost it, sorry.
